Husband and I stayed here on our honeymoon and I'm inclined to give this hotel 3.5 stars. The first half of our trip to Paris we stayed here and the second half we stayed at the Park Hyatt Paris Vendome, so that definitely attributes to my review of this hotel as I can't help but compare the two.
The staff here are very kind, welcoming, and helpful. Our first night, we upgraded the rest of our stay to a room with a balcony. I believe it was 800 or so euros to upgrade the room for 3 nights, this is in addition to the room rates we already paid. We had a view of the Paris skyline and as they are located right by the Arc De Triomphe, we had a beautiful view of that. It was amazing. It's just a shame we couldn't spend too much time out there or enjoy our breakfast on the patio as it was just way too cold. Breakfast was included with our room, which we could enjoy either downstairs at their restaurant, or we could order room service free of charge. The breakfast is great -- it includes a beautiful assortment of pastries and bread, yogurt, cereal, fruit, juices, and best of all -- a hot bar with a yummy assortment of veggies, eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. You can also order an omelet separately. The upgraded room also provided us unlimited access to the minibar, my husband enjoyed that. Every night the cleaning staff leaves a little treat nearby your pillow -- I loved that extra touch. They left us cute metal bookmarks, luggage tags, and candies. The staff also sent up some macarons, a sweet note, and a bottle of champagne as we were on our honeymoon.
The rooms themselves are not very spacious, but that's pretty typical in Paris. My one gripe about the bathroom is that the first night we stayed in our original room, it had a bathtub, but from the second night onwards, we stayed in an upgraded room with a balcony, but the bathroom had a very small, oddly designed shower. It had no door and was just a glass panel between the shower space and the toilet. The tile in the bathroom also looked to be a little worn out and the grout was a little dirty/dingy looking. Not very luxurious. I'd assume that an upgraded room would in fact be upgraded, but essentially it was a carbon copy of our original standard room, but with a smaller, less luxurious bathroom and an added balcony.
Also, while the location is great and very close to the Arc De Triomphe and near a metro stop, the food/dining and shopping options within walking distance are not great.
