This hotel is 100% the Tinder date that used photos from 2014 and a very flattering filter. Online it’s giving 4-star luxury. In person it’s giving “oh.”
The room was dusty, outdated, and came with bonus cigarette burns in the carpet. A charming throwback no one asked for. There was a visible layer of dust on basically everything, which really helped sell the “hasn’t been updated in a while” aesthetic. For the price they’re charging, the room quality was honestly shocking.
Now, the only reason this isn’t a 1-star review: Sandra and Tracey. Absolute legends. Warm, kind, helpful, and genuinely lovely. They carried this stay on their backs and deserve a raise. If you’re booking for the staff alone, you’ll be happy.
The rooftop pool and gym were actually great and lived up to expectations, which made going back to the room feel unfortunate.
Overall, it’s a hotel trying to sell luxury while delivering nostalgia. I wouldn’t recommend paying the premium price unless the rooms get a serious glow-up. Great personality, questionable reality. Just like that date
