Beautiful hotel, rooms had ample room. Was situated in room 1711. It was a family share with 2 double beds. Bedding was clean and room was tidy. Opted for the buffet breakfast which was lovely and lots of fresh made choices. Bar was inviting and lots of space. Renovations are still ongoing from a year ago and don't look to be finished anytime soon which is a shame as the pool is inaccessible, one elevator is out and the front entrance is not open/accessible either. Parking is $25 per night and is self parking but be warned they can't reserve spots for hotel guests (open to public car park) and can possibly be stuck without a spot to park. Service was professional but I requested a jug or water and extra towels, we didnt have enough towels so I found a lovely cleaner who provides me with more as the phone system wasn't working and redirecting calls to other areas. Eg- called house keeping to end up calling the spa. I called reception to ask for a jug of water and bucket of ice... never received the requested items, even though the front of house said to call with any requests upon arrival and I requested ut in my booking. Venue is close to multipul pubs, cafes and restaurants, with the beach across the road. A nice location.

We were not told at time of booking that the hotel was under renovations and that the pool was closed as well as the front entrance. The pool area was the main reason we chose this particular hotel. The pool area is also the main photo they show attracting people to stay there. We were told on check in that we could access the public pool 5 minute walk down the road. Then when we had a shower the water floods the bathroom we had to put towels down to stop the water going into the room. Called reception and told them of the problem and it took 30 minutes for them to bring fresh towels. Poor design and no apology or acknowledgement that we had to cleanup the water after every shower and ask for more towels every day. There are signs on the glass door leading out to the balcony that there are cameras and also signs on the balcony. I had no problem with that except when at 9pm when we were getting organised for bed after a big day there was a knock at the door. Not a phone call to our room. I had to get dressed to be told by the person at the door that they had complaints that we were smoking on the balcony. We are non smokers and this was highly offensive that when we told her that she still insisted on coming into the room and going out on the balcony to check for herself. A phone call to the room should have been what they did first. Not knock on our door. They did not refresh tea and coffee facilities and we stayed for 3 nights. On check out they asked how our stay was we said we would leave that for the review we would do. Interesting that they didn’t even ask if there was as issue. They couldn’t print out our invoice/receipt either as both the printers didn’t work. Escalator and one of the lifts were out of service and no concierge service to assist with luggage

I stayed 4 nights. Fantastic location right on the esplanade on the beach. In house restaurants and bars were great. Heaps of restaurants, bars and night spots right outside too, supermarket only a couple hundred metres away. Staff very accommodating. We held a conference here in the grand ballroom with 150 guests and were well taken care of with professional assistance. Very nice spacious hotel room, well appointed with balcony, big shower, beach views, coffee machine, kettle, well stocked mini bar and snacks, decent level of sound proofing from the night life. Smart tv with chromecast so I could stream what I wanted to watch. Free fast wifi. Breakfast options are really good in the restaurant, day spa, bars and other great facilities I didn’t get enough time to enjoy. Was here during renovations but that didn’t diminish the experience. Sunset markets out front on the esplanade on Saturday with food trucks was a bonus. I didn’t experience any of the complaints I saw in other reviews, so it’s really down to perspective and expectations of the individual. But I loved my stay. Definitely would return.

We had a wonderful 3 day stay at the Rendezvous. Our room had stunning views of the beach and the decor was great. There were plenty of options for breakfast and we enjoyed a few local restaurants in the evening. |After reading the reviews, I was wary about booking. But our stay was outstanding and the beach at Scarborough is beautiful.

We are staying for a week, to attend a 3 day conference. I understand that the hotel is undergoing renovations to the reception area and obviously the pool area but the hotel feels neglected. We stayed in the Executive suite on the 25 floor for not an insignificant cost. Great view (except for the pool 😉) The general areas are well kept but the suite we are in is in need of a revamp, lounges are stained, furniture has marks and minor damage showing its age with a dated interior design A little more cutlery and some plates would be handy. Somewhere to unpack suitcases, a little more storage space for clothes. The phone system doesn't work. Great bath but no plug! Furniture on the huge balcony would be a handy addition. I expected the price to reflect the quality. It fell short. The good stuff: location is beautiful and close to lots of good stuff to see. The staff are exceptional, I cannot fault them.

We stayed at the Rendezvous Scarborough as a group of four for three nights before driving on to Exmouth, and it was an excellent choice.||The hotel has been recently renovated and feels fresh and welcoming. Booking was straightforward, check-in was smooth and friendly, and parking was simple – just drive in, park, and scan at reception.||Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a great balcony, a modern shower, and possibly the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in at a hotel. Everything about the service throughout our stay was faultless – warm, attentive, and professional.||Breakfast was another highlight, with an impressive spread of hot and cold options. The fresh fruit, bread selection, and especially the chia yoghurt stood out.||But the real star of the stay was the bar. Without doubt one of the best hotel bars I’ve experienced in years – not just for the atmosphere, but for the quality of the staff. The team were exceptionally knowledgeable and engaging, offering some of the best wine recommendations I’ve had in over a decade. The selection of wines by the glass was outstanding, and the overall bar service felt on par with top wine bars.||In short: a stylish, comfortable hotel with excellent service, a superb breakfast, and a truly exceptional bar experience. A perfect place to stay in Scarborough.

Just had a 2 night stay and loved it. The location on the coast was perfect. Our room was spacious and spotless. Loved having the balcony to sit on and take in the view. Breakfast had a great variety and you do not leave there hungry. Hubby loved making his own pancakes never seen that before in a hotel. Staff were helpful and friendly and check in was a breeze. The eating places around the area had a great varied choice. Will definitely be back for another visit.

Avoid the Rendezvous Hotel in Scarborough at all costs. My partner and I stayed two nights, and it was a disaster from start to finish. The hotel is falling apart—peeling paint, mouldy, stinking carpets, and renovations that make it feel like a construction zone. Staff had the audacity to enter our room while we were indecent, and constant notifications blasted through the day, making it impossible to relax. The whole place is run down, outdated, and outrageously overpriced. Maybe it had a heyday in the 90s, but now it’s a dump. Don’t waste your money—there are far better options nearby.

Yelp
I always wanted to do a proper staycation around Perth and also to find out why people love staycations so much. Last week Hubby and I checked into Rendezvous Hotel at Scarborough for an overnight stay. We left our cat with clean litter and heaps of food as a weekend treat for her. Rendezvous Perth was built in 1986. It offers a great view of the Indian Ocean as well as the white sand of Scarborough Beach. In the morning we saw a lot of surfers who gathered to find the best waves. The beach was always clean, and it was satisfying just to sit down and enjoy the view. The main attraction at Scarborough is the beautiful beach itself. There are a lot of eateries available around the hotel, and it is only a 20 minute drive to Perth CBD. If you're looking to pamper yourself, Vanilla Spa is located inside the Rendezvous Hotel building. A surf lesson can also be booked online in advanced through Go Surf or Scarborough Beach Surf School. At the moment there's a foreshore development at Scarborough Beach, but the view was still very amazing especially when we saw it from our room on level 22. We checked into our spacious room around 6 PM on Friday night. I did my usual thing, slid open the cupboard, see all of the cute toiletries, taking some photos and finally opened the room's curtain. We had a beautiful night view from our balcony. I really liked the matching painting and the bedding decoration. The matching decor can be found in every room at Rendezvous Hotel. Hubby took his time to set up his Nintendo Switch before we went to the Straits Cafe to have our dinner. The view in the morning was even more beautiful. It's amazing how our minds relaxed very quickly when we see beautiful nature. We got to see the foreshore developments clearer. The beach also came alive with a lot of people who walked and surfed in the morning. Last year I was lucky enough to have a preview of the Executive Suite King room. The 102 sqm hotel room has a very spacious private balcony and two rooms with king size bed. Children under 12 can stay for free in any of the rooms when sharing existing bedding. There are a lot of facilities available at the hotel such as clean gym, functioning ATM, coin operated washing machine, cascade pool with heated water and kids games room that was filled with cool arcade games. In the morning, we went to the famous Observation Deck at Level 24 which was open to the hotel guests. The view was stunning. PARKING: We drove around the block to find a parking spot for the Rendezvous Hotel. We found the paid parking spot next to the hotel lobby entrance at Westcoast Hwy. Matisse Beach Club has another entry point to the parking area. Our hotel receptionist validated the parking ticket for $15 per night. You can re-enter and exit many times you like afterward. Hubby and I had a great time during our staycation at Rendezvous Hotel Scarborough. Every staff was amiable from the time we checked in until the end of our stay. Our room was spotless, and we enjoyed our food from Straits Cafe. The hotel was very near to Coles and various eateries, and we wake up feeling refreshed. Now I'm looking forward to another staycation that I can do around Perth!

Yelp
I am stuck on the fence with this one. I kind of wish it didn't exist. It is the only high building in the area and it sticks out like a sore thumb thats just been hit for a second time by a warner bros anville. This isn't the Gold Coast, even though Scarborough is a popular beach, it is still only a small suburb with local residents, no need for the garish height really. On the other hand, each room as a fabulous view. Its pretty snazzy and definitely brings spending tourists to the area. I'm still not convinced though.

Yelp
We stayed in the deluxe ocean view room, views amazing hotel is really nice but the attention to detail and staff are really lacking, checking staff rude, queues very long, cleaning staff knocking on the door at 8.45 in the morning on valentines day, balcony very dirty and has no chairs which is stupid considering the views. There was one awesome girl called fredrica on the bar who was great and gave good service, good for her! Otherwise management need to lift their game.

Yelp
Ob city is one of the snazziest hotels in Perth. It's a decent quality night away from home or a great place for overseas travellers who want to stay close to the ocean. It's nestled in the main drag of Scarborough, which is one of the trendiest beach spots in the world. Cafes, restaurants, parks and the coolest Coles in Perth (why? they have this cool juice you can only get there. I have no idea what it's called and I've had it once and can't find it again, but it was amazing). The rooms are absolutely decadent for the price you're paying. If you've got ocean views, you're set. We went to the restaurant for breakfast one morning for a breakfast buffet with the family and it was fantastic. The service was amazing and everyone working in the hotel was just so accommodating and welcoming. Kudos, ob citay.

Yelp
Buffet breakfast. All the usuals. Mushrooms were canned. Fried tomato was hardly fried. $4 barista coffee (extra). $5 omelete (extra). I've come to expect full service at a buffet, not extra charges. Need to lift the game a bit, both in kitchen and on the floor. But I'd come back.

Yelp
Meh. An 80s icon that falls below par by today's standards. I was in the market for a hotel room. I really wanted to take that elusive stay-cation. But this time it wasn't going to be a hostel stay-cation nor a chalet stay-cation. Not even a camper van stay-cation. Although, I'm aware that last one would be really fun and I definitely want to try it one day... I was after an opulent say-cation. One fit for a queen. My sister and I would spend our usual weekly holiday budget in one or two nights. It would be like that scene in Home Alone 2 when Macaulay Culkin orders the most glamorous ice cream sundae you've ever seen and eats it on an equally glamorous and ginormous bed. That would be us! The height of luxury! We couldn't wait. So we waltzed up to Observation City, all grinning and hand rubbing, and asked to see a middle of the range room. Eh. I see. Disappointing. Not like Home Alone 1 or 2. Our princely sum would have got us a small, boring room with two twin beds and a salt encrusted window. The pool didn't look spectacular either and the dining area looked over-priced in a really un-special sort of a way. I now realise that a lot more moola would have to change hands to find ourselves in a Home Alone - esque scenario but I have stayed in other hotel rooms in Perth and I found Observation City drab in comparison.

Yelp
I have to say, out of all the hotel's I have stayed at this one has the worst service. They had renovations going on that they didn't notify us about, the access ramp was not available due to construction work which we needed for our pram but we were not notified, there was no one to help us with our bags, and there was only 1 out of 3 lifts working which made it impossible for us to check out on the last day. What made it worse was the manage contacted us about our feedback and then proceeded to argue with me over the conditions and what, in my opinion, a 4 1/2 star hotel should provide. I won't be recommending this hotel to anyone I know.

Yelp
Great hotel! Everything is so beautiful, the foyer, the rooms especially is lovely, modern looking room, bathroom, clean, great service in this hotel! I just love it, and the view is amazing too, when I'm sleeping it's nice to open the door a bit and hear the ocean waves crashing :)

Yelp
Observation CIty is a fun place to stay. Depending on which rooms you get, they can be very lavish with ocean views, large balconies and spacious rooms. Even the regular suites are nice, though they could do with a little makeover in some areas. The Foyer is a beautiful open expanse with a water feature in it that lets you just sit and stare and be lost in the noise of a babbling brook. There is an awesome swimming pool with spa and bar, though why you would use it when Scarborough Beach is just over the road is well outside my realm of understanding. The restaurant in the hotel is great too, though with Zanders just over the road, and plenty of little cafes within walking distance, I'd also leave the building for everytihng other than breakfast (and that's only because I'm lazy before 9am).

Yelp
wow. It's wonderful to be pleasantly surprised these days and the Rendezvous Grand hotel definitely ticks this box. The room (recent refurb), the position, the view (OMG-the view) but mostly, the staff. The concierge exuded old fashioned courtesy and attentiveness, the reception staff were ultra professional and warm but what really blew me away was the staff in their Straits Cafe. I wandered in when they were busy setting up for a later service and so often in that situation, you are made to feel like an imposition. Not here. I was made to feel like I owned the place. The waitress could not have been better at her job & the gorgeous French Maitre D or manager exuded professionalism & warmth. I would like to extend my thanks to both of them for their kindness. It made my stay.
