Renewal Point

I've been a patient of The Renewal Point since they opened. The difference they've made in my health as I've aged through the years is profound. Recently, I had the pleasure of experiencing my first appointment with their nurse practitioner, Deb Spinner. I was truly blown away by her medical knowledge, attentiveness, and focus on getting to know me both medically and to learn more about my life since both directly affect my health. I don't usually say that I can't wait to go to the doctor again, but in this case I look forward to having this patient/practitioner relationship with her for years to come. Since my appointment I have felt even better with some shifts in my hormone balancing and other things she was able to update because of the good questions she asked. I've always felt very well taken care of and heard by The Renewal Point staff. I want to thank them for once again adding more quality to my days and quantity to my life. Welcome, Deb. You are a wonderful addition to The Renewal Point.

Compliments to the entire staff at The Renewal Point. I always feel welcomed with warm greetings and appreciate that I'm never kept waiting for my appointment. Both Dr. Watts and Deb Spinner (nurse practitioner) always put my nervous self at ease before any examinations and make me feel valued as a patient. I appreciate their approach to whole body health and their commitment to helping me understand how to better manage my specific health issues and concerns. If you're looking for a practice that focuses on preventive care and treats causes vs. symptoms for better overall health, The Renewal Point is the place for you.

I booked an appointment for two months out (in September 2021), completed and emailed extensive required paperwork to them and requested a zoom appointment due to covid (and the fact that I am immunocompromised). During the teladoc appointment, I learned that not everyone in the office was vaccinated, that there are no established protocols for dealing with appointments in the time of covid, and no enforced mask wearing. I also learned that some of the recommended tested would need to be done in their office and that it was certain that I would be interacting with unvaccinated staff. When I asked for assurance that only vaccinated staff would be conducting any tests on me (e.g., blood draws), I was told that they would need to have a staff meeting to discuss what they could do!!! If they haven't done anything for the past year, they probably don't intend to, right? Very disappointed and let them know I would not be using their services. Even more disappointing because of their impressive website coverage of supporting people who have cancer (I do). Most of the other integrative medicine groups in Sarasota say nothing about having expertise in nutritional supplementation/treatments for people with compromised immune systems.

BUMMER... I was very excited to book an appointment with Daniel B. Watts at the renewal point. They booked my appointment for a month and a half out and let me know to make sure to bring everything I need in a folder to present to the doctor for a better experience. I made sure that I had did that. The morning of my appointment my fiancé drove my vehicle to work not realizing that the folder I had prepared for the doctor this morning was in the car. I realized this and immediately called the office to explain them the situation and to try to figure out a solution. I let them know that I could drive out to get the folder and be back but it would be about two hours or I would be happy to reschedule for another day. She rudely told me that they I would have to be at the back of the line and be booked out for the end of December instead, even though I have waited over a month for this appointment already. I was happy to be squeezed in, I was happy to come-in in a week, I was happy to go there and wait and be seen in between customers, really anything at all reasonable, but she still refused to help which was pretty sad considering I was going to be paying a lot out-of-pocket to come to their office. There was no compassion from her whatsoever and did not care about my business and just told me that she would let everyone know that I chose to cancel and if I want to re-book there would be an extra fee. I thought her bad attitude was very bizarre, and I'm actually really disappointed since I really expected more out of this office based on what they claim their expertise are. I will go elsewhere since I am clearly not valued as a patient. She didn't even attempt to help and was so quick to cancel me like I wasn't important at all. Be prepared to deal with this treatment if you choose to come here.

Dr. Watts and his staff are wonderful! Dr. Watts and his nurse practitioner, Helena Williams, are very thorough when it comes to your health. They take a whole body approach and work with you to find an answer using more natural methods. I have always suffered with stomach problems, between the supplements, lab tests, and the weight loss program that Dr. Watts suggested I can finally say I am feeling better! Another awesome service that they provide is the CKC program run by Matt. I have always been a runner and have suffered from knee pain most of my life. The workout plan that Matt designed for me has stopped all my knee pain and I can finally run happily again!
