Our family had incredibly relaxing time at Renfros. We stayed in cabin 6 which was a bit rustic but had everything you needed and was immaculately clean . The hammock out front was perfect for relaxing. The lake was a short walk away with amazing views. Gary was helpful with all our questions and borrowing the 2 kayaks for the afternoon. The train was very close to cabin 6 but fun to watch go by. I highly recommend as place to stay near Seward but yet out of the touristy area in the real Alaskian mountain and lake beauty.

Good Points:|The orientation to the property during check-in is great. The cabins are nicely situated with peekaboo views of Kenai Lake. The wildlife in the area is a big plus. The cabins are a nice size with room for 2-4 guests. The cabins are very clean. We appreciate that there were no remnants of dog hair in our cabin! The bathrooms are new, decent size with a nice, new shower enclosure and shower doors. The kitchen is well equipped. The hot water heater provides a good amount of hot water.||Room for Improvement:|The cabins are dark, as the lighting is poor, especially in the kitchen. The view of the lake from the cabins could be improved with some judicial tree trimming or tree removal at the lakeshore. A picnic table at the picnic area would also be a nice improvement.

We stayed here for three nights – two adults and two teenagers. The kids absolutely loved walking around the property and walking along the lake. The cabins are pretty much as pictured online. It was a very peaceful place and the views were fantastic. Check-in was easy and nice. Buying firewood there was cheaper than in town. It took about 20 to 30 minutes to drive into Seward. |We were glad we stayed here.

What a fantastic place! We really enjoyed our stay at Renfro's. The cottage is clean, beds and shower good. Gary is a very helpful sweet man. We traveled for a month from Canada to Alaska and this cottage was the most beautiful for us. Also enjoyed the kayaks. A place we will always remember.

We stayed in the RV park. It was overall very quiet except when the train went by a few times a day really not a bother at all. Bathrooms were extremely clean. There is a fire pit and you can purchase wood for $10 a bundle there’s water and electric at each site and there is a common dump for sewage. We enjoyed our stay and drove into Seward twice during our stay there is Ample space for your RV and a vehicle and it is a short walk to the lake where you can fish there are kayaks and paddle boats to use. The owner is very nice and helpful.

Perfect location to explore the peninsula from. Tons of excellent hiking nearby. The campground is kept very clean and the owner is pleasure to interact with. Bathroom, shower and laundry facilities were all in great condition. We are staying two weeks and we'd definately come back.

We have stayed in the RV park, at Renfro's multiple times, and would highly recommend it. Gary has a very nice RV/Cabin resort. It is not overcrowded, as some are, and he offers excellent amenities; full hookups, bath, shower, and laundry. These facilities are all very well maintained, and Gary is very professional. We would highly recommend.

Yelp
These were very clean and well built cabins. Secluded from the road with an excellent tranquil view of the lake and mountains. The owner, Gary was very knowledgeable and quite fun to chat with. This place is a definite must when visiting the area. Only a 15-20 minute drive into Seward. I would stay there again for sure.

Yelp
One of the highlights of my trip in Alaska, these cabins are amazing! We stayed in the Ketchikan cabin for a few days out of the week in June, the weather was amazing it was the perfect place to unplug and enjoy the nature around us. Absolutely no complaints here, I will 100% be booking here again the next time I visit Alaska!

Yelp
The cabin was a great location just north of seward about 25 minutes. We stayed at one of the lakeside cabins for our honeymoon and it was right along the south side of Kenai Lake. It was a beautiful cabin, very well kept, very clean, and attention to detail. Soaps were in place, the dishes were nicely placed, and all the amenities were there as advertised. The shades kept the place dark enough at night (the midnight sun is very real!). Best of all, the customer service was impeccable. Gary was very thorough during check-in, very nice and very accommodating. We had some questions and they were all answered and/or addressed. Lastly, there were some pedal boats and kayaks that we could have used but never got a chance to use them.

Yelp
Small, secluded place yet close to seward, ak. Clean restrooms and showers. Very nice owner/attendant. Wished the wind was not so strong so we could have gone in the lake with the paddle boats. Bad cell location - no service. Wifi was weak too at my RV spot.

Yelp
Wonderful hidden gem! We stayed here for 2 nights in a cabin. Loved boating in the lake, relaxing on the hammock, and its proximity to Seward downtown. Would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
This place is amazing. perfectly located 20 minutes from seward. The spot we had was very spacious with full hook ups. The grounds are excellent for walks with the family. The owner Gary rents out kayaks and peddle boats for free to the people staying. I will definitely be coming back when I go to Seward again.

Yelp
Clean, quite room. Nice setup. Not too fancy, but great for what we were looking for. The location is within walking distance of most everything in Seward. Just 1/2 a block from the water.

Yelp
This was such a wonderful place to camp. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and the bathrooms and shower house was so IMMACULATELY cleaned! The location is absolutely beautiful. We will for sure be back!!

Yelp
Can't say enough about this awesome retreat... Stayed here in a lakeside cabin with the wife for our honeymoon, and we couldn't have picked a better place. Picture windows with an unbeatable view from your kitchen table (picture this: drinking cheap wine and listening to Tom Waits while the Alaskan sunset stretches over the lake and bald eagles swoop by... amazing!) Beware victims of the modern age, Renfro's doesn't have wireless or cell reception anywhere, except for the lodge. The nearest cell reception is about 15 minutes away down the road. This is actually a blessing in disguise for many people, who are forced to become human once again. Conveniently located between Seward and Anchorage with some cool hiking trails within walking distance (Victor Creek). Very cozy and welcoming cabins with a stove and all kinds of cookware. Fire pits outside. The cabins are literally about fifteen feet from the lakeside. Faucet water that tastes better than any premium bottled water I've ever had. Just awesome stuff... awesome. Plus, the service is great. My wife booked an extra night by mistake, and the dude voluntarily gave us a refund when he caught us leaving early. Hell, he came running out to our car to let us know our mistake. If you're looking to build memories, this is the place. Well worth the money.

Yelp
We stayed overnight in the RV area in mid September 2011, as we didn't want to stay overnight in Seward at the RV park there another night. We were heading back to Anchorage to turn in the RV the next morning. It was the end of the season and we literally had the entire place to ourselves. We saw MANY RV parks this trip and really liked this one. Although we were in an RV, we walked down to the lake and viewed the very neat and tidy cabins, several of which are literally right beside Kenai Lake. They were so nice that we decided the next time we visit, RV or not, we're staying in one of the cabins. Gary was very nice and accomodating and I hope we get to see him and this great place again in 2012.

Yelp
We stayed in a lake front cabin. The cabin was extremely clean and well taken care of view. The view of the mountains and the proximity of the water were great. You can buy wood and charcoal from the front desk, so we took advantage of grilling some salmon and enjoying a couple of fires. We also loved the closeness to Seward (about 20 minute drive) and the fact that there was no TV or cell phone reception; a really great place to relax and unplug. A few pieces of advice, the kitchens have utensils and that's about it. If you're going to cook (there's a Safeway in Seward) then think to bring oil, spices, condiments etc). Also, as the website notes, bring something to cover your eyes if you're sensitive to the late sunlight; this was the only place (out of 5 we stayed in) without black out shades.
