"We leave on Sunday night when the farm gets dark, and do some antique treasure hunting on the way back. Especially the Renningers Antique Market, which happens on Sundays. At this point, you should be a master of finding minimal and simple and sophisticated “plain” goods."

I have been coming here since the mid 70s. It is my favorite. But mostly because of the nostalgia. A lot of vendors are dirty and unorganized. I hope the management reviews their lease requirements with the vendors soon as to clean the booths up. It is hot in the summer but warm in the winter. I recommend going here.

Open on Sunday only. Nice antique market. Indoor and outdoor vendors. Love the vibe and people here. Enjoy!

I made a special trip here on a Sunday because it is the only day it is open. I was pretty disappointed. It was interesting walking around, but the prices are very high and many booths look trashy. I found something I was interested in, asked the price, and was quote an extremely high price of 5 times what they go for. The vendor got insulted and told me that he doesn't give stuff away. I stopped looking at his booth because I am sure it was all overpriced, the reason there is stuff all over and unorganized, and dirty. That is the vibe at this place. Usually antique markets are on the high side, but this place feels more like a flea market, except the prices. Many of the vendor stands really need to be cleaned up so it doesn't look so junky. I should have just spent my time at the antique malls in the area. Much better than here.

Google
It was ok. I didn't know if you go past noon most shops are closed. It was very dark and dirty looking. The only bright spots were the beautiful glass booths with their stunning pieces.

This antique store is very huge, but needs to get caught up with modern times. Just because the place is open doesn’t mean all the vendors are open. Half the vendors were closed. You need to hunt down the vendor if you want something and the they don’t take card so you need to go get cash. Huge waste of time. Would be better if they were like every other antique store where you check out at one cash register and if they would take card. Don’t recommend if you want an easy and convenient store to shop in.

Google
It has some of the coolest things, but most of all the best place is lost in toys it will take you back to your childhood. The owner jim and his wife are very customer friendly and very knowledgeable about everything they sell .great people .

Google
We found several great antiques that we could fit in my suitcase. Always fun to walk though the outside and inside vendors.

Only open on Sundays, but it's worth the wait and the trip!! Fantastic!! From Curtis Nace's Phonographs, 1860 Manufacturing Company with unique industrial art pieces to Darrell L. Markley's beautiful vintage glass (which I collect) and to Bob Roth's antique hardware, who saved me with door plates with no skeleton key hole!! For the vintage door I am restoring!! Searched for weeks looking!! Fantastic for anything antique lover!!

Yelp
One of the best Markets in the Country. Definitely need to get back there this summer. The best deals on the most unusual hard to find items.

Dexter B.

Yelp
Personally the vibe drained my energy. The place literally kills your soul with the heat, stale moldy smells and lack luster atmosphere. Many vendors were closed. Those who were open just looked tired and disinterested in visitors. I will not return here.

Yelp
Fun times for my first visit to Renninger's. Took a long walk around, met some interesting people and bought a few fair priced antique items. Will be going back for sure, it's the right kind of Americana at the right price.

Eddie A.

Yelp
Great place to shop for those holiday gifts, plenty of choices from many vendors. Make sure you check out the outdoor vendors, they have some amazing deals. I highly recommend this place.

Sarah L.

Yelp
This place is a massive indoor yard sale. Some booths have good deals and some are overpriced, which is like everywhere else. There's so much to see and I am still not sure we actually saw everything because it's like a maze.
google avatar

Fran H.

Yelp
Not what it used to be. Lots of stuff much overpriced inside. Fun to look at nostalgic things. The outside vendors were not there which was disappointing since that is where you get the best deals . It's a far drive from cherry Hill for what we saw. Need to truck it to Brimfield I guess .

Yelp
Too many folks here watched American Pickers and think that just because something is "old" that it's valuable. After walking through most of the stores inside and being baffled at some of the prices on many of the items in the different shops, my wife and I wandered outside, pleased to find a bunch of tables set up hoping to find some good hidden gems. Instead it was more of the same, with people charging exorbitant prices for run of the mill stuff. This is an antique store and emphasis on "collectors market." The people selling stuff really must not want to get rid of any of it because the stuff isn't priced to go. Junk is still junk, no matter the age. I understand that it's not a flea market, but I'm able to find much of the same stuff at flea markets for a fraction of the price. We did find an awesome wood & metal craftsman there who we bought a one-of-a-kind bench from that he made. Super pleasant guy who had a story for everything he made. Made a 1-star experience much better.

Yelp
I came here early on a sunday and had a wonderful time here. This is what all fleamarkets should be like! A ton of indoor vendors, tables set up outside which just had such a earthy organic feel to it. Truely unique finds at fair to moderate prices. Interesting people watching, a little fruit and veggie market and two places to eat greasy breakfast sandwiches and burgers which smelled delicious! We wantered the stalls for hours, there is really something for every taste, oldies but goodies, real vintage, antiques, kitsch, and your off the wall oddball curiousities. Makes for a great sunday, worth checking out!

Tanya K.

Yelp
Wasn't for me. The place was dark and cluttered. We got there at about 10 or 11 am and there weren't many shoppers. Maybe it was already late since the place opens up very early? There were many booths selling guns, old military gear, dead stuffed animal heads, etc. just wasn't for me. Only a handful of vendors were selling house decor stuff like vases and plates. One vendor was very rude when I asked for the price of something then decided to pass.

Krystin Z.

Yelp
Not impressed at all with this one, half the shops were closed and not in very good shape, some of the booths were aren't even worth looking at, if you going to have a booth you might as well take care of it and actually let people be able rummage through and look, people don't really seem to care about there stand at all

Yelp
Coming from a collector's standpoint, this is probably my favorite antique show/flea market. At 3 AM on Sunday's the vendors start to set up. By 4 AM the show is in full swing. By 10 AM many vendors begin to pack up shop and by 11 AM the field is empty. In other words, bring a flashlight and the serious collectors should be here by 5am. There is a pavilion and a field both with knowledgeable and friendly dealers with all sorts of antiques. The outdoor field and pavilion is probably my favorite flea market. On the other hand, the indoor market also has many knowledgeable dealers but there the items are expensive (good luck finding something inside). However the dealers here tend to be stuck up more about their stuff and always have the same merchandise time after time. Some even have signs forbidding photography (really? they should get a life). Renningers is the best show in town!

Yelp
A bastion of antiques, like many other reviewers I came here with my parents growing up, Walking into the indoor market, the smell of old books, napthalene, and age hits you like an old lady backing up in her scooty-puff. Actually, that was an old lady in a scooty puff. Anyways, there is truly something for everyone here. Another true antique place with no dollar store crap, you can spend hours hunting for treasure in the super packed booths. Important notes. The outdoor market starts at 4AM - yes people 4AM. Get there at 10am and you'll be watching people pack instead of unpack. the indoor market opens at 7:30, so if you want to get there for prime time, aim for 7am, walk the outside market then wander inside after the building opens. Of course, a true collector has a flashlight, a backup flashlight, and is there as the unpacking occurs, after all, who wants to be beat to the deals!

Yelp
I will say this, this is actually the first time I've ever gone antiquing with a friend, and this was where we ended up! Wow, so many antiques in one place! I had to walk through parts of the place a few times with a friend just to see everything. While there, I did find a nice WWII era gas mask for $15, and oddly enough, a ball and chain, which the person selling that let me try it on for size. Too bad that was $60, I wanted to buy that so badly, just in case... All in all, I really liked this place and will go back with my friend after faire season ends, hopefully with a lot more money so I can maybe buy that ball and chain :P.

Yelp
We strolled through this place last Sunday and I must say it is a winding maze of vendor after vendor. We weren't serious buyers, but were just wandering around looking for some interesting items. The prices seemed a little high, but then again I am no antiques collector so who I am to judge. By the best thing I saw there was the 1st issue of the Incredible Hulk comic book. The vendor had it listed at mere $32,000! I doubt he'll ever get that for it, but at least that means it will be around for awhile for other passerby's to enjoy.

Yelp
Where the antique craze began. Renningers is only open for business on Sunday, but what a selection they have! This is one of the largest antique places I have ever been too. In the spring, summer and fall there are several outdoor vendors, so get there early. Inside there's plenty to choose from. If they don't have it, it doesn't exist. They often host special Sundays where even more vendors show up.

Yelp
I thought almost everything I saw was over priced. Just because it is old does not mean it is worth a outrageous price. Maybe that is why there weren't that many shoppers there during the business day. A lot of the booths were closed but this a big place with a lot of stuff. There are clean restrooms. I understand the real action is at 6 in the morning. Sorry but I will not be going back!! I can find antiques a lot closer to my home at reasonable prices.
google avatar

Freddy S.

Yelp
I came at 1:45 on a Sunday afternoon, and 75% of the booths were closed. Of the one's remaining, many had no prices or signs forbidding you to take pictures. Also -- and maybe this is just me -- but the dealers are right there in every booth. I'd rather wander in peace and unmonitored, then find the dealer when/if needed. It's also fair to mention that there are booths and booths of good stuff.

Yelp
You can find almost anything you want at this sprawling market. It takes awhile to go through all the buildings and the outside market when it's open. I've been going here for years and always find something. They need more ATM locations is my only gripe.

Yelp
Brian , Billy and the rest of staff are super . They get high marks 5 stars . This review is about ownership and the market as a whole. Unfortunately the marketplace for Collectibles and Antiques has diminished greatly. The Ability to stay ahead of the Curve is the responsibility of ownership and the respective merchants and dealers that sell their goods. This Market has not adapted at all to current market conditions. Ownership spends zero on Advertising even less money on maintenance and it's sad that such is the reality of this Market. Many of the long-standing dealers have died the ones that remain are hanging on for dear life. Most of the buyers are the same from the area and going through a routine. Buyers are scarce and the good dealers don't bother anymore. This Market no longer draws people from Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore and up and down the Northeast as it used too. The property itself is being offered out for sale which is an indication of how ownership feels about the future of Antiquing in Adamstown. I do hope that once this property is sold that the consolidation of merchandise happens at black Angus which is a much better facility but dead currently because of the same ownership mentality that Renningers deploys. If your out and about and it's early, I have picked some incredible things here. Do not go out of your way to get here unfortunately you will not be rewarded the Scavengers here come out early so chances are if you're late unless stuff was missed it's already been picked. I'm not a hater I am in fact a fan of the people that are here I just think that ownership has completely run this place to the ground where it's become a complete waste of time. Many of the dealers here are professional capable and have great inventory. Unfortunately it's stale inventory and fresh happens early in the morning and is a blip on the radar screen. To Jimmy Renningers you suck at at ownership and you would do the legacy of your parents and all of the great people that came before you a service by selling this place and allowing the antiquing in Adamstown not to be degraded to this level as you have done. I am sad to have to leave this review because I do have a lot of friends that still try to make a living here. Good luck to them but shame on The Rennigers family . Brian Block is a gentleman.

Yelp
As a vendor and a buyer at this market I give it 5 stars. So much to see and do at this place that you need alot of time to enjoy it all, especially the shops inside. This is definitely the place to go if you want to take a walk down Memory Lane. They sell and display some of the coolest stuff in the stores inside. There is plenty of parking and the place is kept very clean. Whenever I have vended here the management has been great and they are VERY helpful and will answer any question. The moral at this place is great. This is the kind of market that maybe the people in Leesport could learn from. Been vending and buying here for almost 3 years now and I have absolutely no complaints at all about this place or those in charge. Very good people. Keep up the good work. See you Sunday!

Alice G.

Yelp
Very large place, wear comfortable shoes. Some dealers were very pricey, most were very engaging and friendly. Better bargains are outside on the tables. Something for everyone.
google avatar

Frank L.

Yelp
Great selection but mostly overpriced. Plenty of other antique malls around the immediate area with much more reasonable prices.

Yelp
Have been coming here for years. The merchandise indoors can be a bit pricey. I prefer the outside vendors. Good selection and much better prices.

Matthew D.

Yelp
I used to come to Renninger's with my family as a kid and I have many fond memories of buying candy and walking around looking at all of the cool items for sale. I just recently started going again and it's exactly like I remembered. If you've never been there, just go and you'll find out for yourself. You never know what kind of treasures you'll find and most of the prices are more than fair. Sometimes you can find some real bargains too. It's just so much better than buying online when you never know exactly what's going to show up in your mailbox. The vendors and staff at Renninger's are also amazingly nice and helpful. Even the customers here seem to be in a better mood than most flea markets that I go to. The other day at the market, my car key somehow fell off the ring while shopping outside. I reported it to the office and they made an announcement. Within a few hours a shopper had turned it in to the lost and found. They said that it happens all the time. Anyway, the point of this review is that Renninger's is definitely worth your time and it's a great flea market to go to. Go once and you'll be addicted just like I am!

Yelp
A great antique flea market, pricey dealers and not as open to deals as Shupp's Grove, but an unbelievable amount of stuuf. I saw American revolutionary objects, elephant feet, antique milking equipment, lightning rods, anything imaginable you might run into here. Just be ready to pay a good price to some dealers and have hours to spend if you plan on seeing everything. Only open on Sundays.

Yelp
Great place to find true antiques and vintage items. IT'S HUGE so be prepared to walk. Unfortunately, it's not wheelchair friendly except for the main isles but definitely worth a visit for antique lovers.

Jim C.

Yelp
Set up outside for the first time in many years. 20 years ago, Renningers was a location to find the best in antiques. The outside vendors were in early (5:00 am) and many consequently pulled out before noon. When I pay to set up at other outdoor markets there are expectations that vendors stay for the duration of the market hours. When you are the only vendor outside no one walks out to see your stuff. Rent money paid for half a day. Won't be going back anytime soon, to sell or to buy.

Jenn S.

Yelp
Last time we visited this market it was in the heat of July. There were a lot of vendors closed up. The person in charge told us it was due to the heat. OK, I get that. Unfortunately we stopped in again today, temps outside were in the teens. The market itself was nice and toasty but again we found MANY closed booths. Not to mention there were at least a dozen that were open but unattended....no one to be found. With only being open 1 day a week in my opinion this is just unacceptable. Not thinking it is worth a 3rd chance.

Yelp
We went to Renninger's today... whew, what a place! It's a huge rambling antique mall that just keeps going and going... if you're looking for an antique mall where you can talk to the individual vendors and strike up a deal, no matter what you're looking for this is the place. Amongst all the dealers that had to be in the hundreds... they've got everything you can imagine, and that's just inside. By the time we got there a lot of the outdoors vendors were packing up, but the space behind the building seems like it's got enough room on a good day to house as many if not more vendors than what's on the inside. Just... wow. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Andrew A.

Yelp
Nice antique mall with lots of venders. Adamstown / Denver is definitely the place to go antiquing and Renninger in particular has a good variety. A great selection and very fair prices. When I'm looking for some nice antique furniture and accessories, I'll be back.
google avatar

Laurie G.

Yelp
Renninger's is a great place to find just about any collectible as well as lots of local antique items.

Marlayna G.

Yelp
We purchased two sets of "antique" handcuffs today from a vendor that frequently sets up outside on the weekends. He normally specializes in signs amongst other things. We have purchased from this individual before and always had pleasant transactions from him. However, today we feel he knowingly sold us two pairs of reproduction handcuffs. We should have realized what he was doing when he briefly hesitated after we asked if he knew the history of the pieces and where he had purchased them from (estate sale, private collector, etc). These were very well produced reproductions. Next time we will research better before making such purchases again, but having dealt with this vendor in the past, we had hoped he was an honest individual. Lesson learned. We love Renningers and visit whenever possible, but were severely disappointed by this particular vendor and we hope visitors will keep this in mind when browsing his tables in the future.

Kendra R.

Yelp
I have mixed reviews of this place. This past weekend was my 3rd visit there. The first time in 2010 I made the mistake of getting there at 12:45 on a nice September cool day. There were about 7 tables still up. Sometimes Sundays are tough to get up early and drive an hour and 10 minutes. Fast forward a year or so later and I got there by 11:15 in mid July. It was a bit hot but not unbearable. There was hardly anyone there at all. There were maybe 20 tables. There was a very, very nice dealer who sold me a beautiful vintage child's coat rack. It is probably the most favorite thing I have ever bought. My son is 4 months old and it looks so adorable in his room. There are unique things there and almost all of the dealers are very friendly and happy just to talk. The prices are a bit high for that area but hey, I have skipped flea markets in Brooklyn, NY because I have heard that it is too much and everyone comes to PA to buy the stuff and then resell it. If you are looking for bigger items, like furniture, or architectural items there has never been much. A dealer told me that with the recent filming of Market Wars (I think that is what the show is called) that people have jacked up prices. The inside is exactly the same as Renningers in Kutztown, depressing and musty, and overpriced but not awful. I have been to some of the other indoor antique malls and have never bought anything from them. If you are going to visit and coming from far away, get a hotel. The city of Reading is 10-15 minutes away and for about $40 on priceline you can get a 3 star hotel. Get there early! This time I got there at 10:00, which is quite early for us. We booked a hotel, had to get breakfast, feed a baby, all that. We arrive at 10 and dealers are packing up already. If you are going to come from out of town, far away do not go to the local places for a bite to eat. We tried Boehringers at 12:00, and the line was a mile long, you need cash. Everyone stared at us as we pulled up. We then tried the pizza place directly across from Renningers and there was no where to sit, everyone stared at us. Go to the bathroom before you get here. The inside bathrooms are gross. They are small, not well ventilated at all. Line up some other activities along with this market. I have read good things about Shupp's Grove so I am going to try that as well. Being plenty of cash because some of the dealers will offer a deal, some just are not interested.

Bob N.

Yelp
Went to Renninger's Antique & Collectors Markets for the first time yesterday and it was just what I wanted. There is a large indoor market and outdoor tables, some in the shade. They had a large number and variety of sellers offering a wide range of antiques. There were at least a hundred sellers outside and more than that inside. Items ranged from a few dollars to thousands. Left with a couple nice items and would happily go again when in the area.
