Google
The bartender is amazing, but the price of Basil Hayden makes me loyal till death. I wish this place the Greatest success and memorable nights. Thanks for the great night

Google
Had a great time at Public House! The bartender was super friendly. They had an awesome selection of beers on tap, and I got to sample several—each one was tasty and unique. Loved the laid-back vibe and good conversation. Definitely a spot I’d come back to!

I have really enjoyed my times here with friends and meeting new ones. But a recent experience with Jack has soured my interest moving forward. I had four cocktails, was feeling it a bit and said that out loud, he asked if I paid for my last drink which I calmly said yes. He says, "Oh, I don't see it in the system" I follow with, "I can't account for digital transactions but I have my receipts right here" I showed them to him, all three (I purposely didn't open a tab and paid for each drink separately - glad I did) - and I did not fail to mention that I tipped $2 on ever individual transaction. He responded at me somewhat condescending making it seem like I was getting upset or agitated but I wasn't. In short, he heard and/saw my state and thought he could get one over on me. He lied to get an extra sale outta me. He knew he was in the wrong and bought back the 4th drink. What a tactic. I'll be sure to avoid his "company" the next time I plan to go in there, if ever. Jessica and Chloe are awesome though.

Google
Nice place to just sit talk and have a drink. Great selection of beers on Tap. Great service in midtown Reno.

Travis D.

Google
It's nice, but this place is only for locals. There was one bartender. I was the only one in the bar. After i got my beer, she asked if i was a local. She asked three times (odd). I told her that I was not from Reno (3x). I finished my beer. She then just ignored me until I asked to close out. Good to know. The pizza place across the street is awesome though.

Marian H.

Google
The Asian salad was really fresh. It was taco Tuesday. $2 street tacos this week was salmon. Really tasty. Friend had a venison Reuben which I was told was also very good.

David B.

Google
Great little bar with a good selection of drinks. Ordered two drinks and their dry cider was absolutely delicious. Met some friends here for a few drinks and had a great time. There are also tables outside. Will definitely return here when I meetup with friends. Good customer service as well.

Google
Great draft selection, cool bartenders, dim enough that I look 20 years younger if you don't look to hard.

Yelp
Reno Public House always slips my mind as a destination, but I'm always pleased when I happen to walk by and decide to pop in. My Wife and I were on our way home from dinner and decided to stop in for a drink. There was a DJ on the back patio playing some good tunes and we each had a draft beer and enjoyed the night air and music. The bartender was quick to take our order, and was friendly. Lot's of good drink options to choose from, it's a cool cocktail bar but not pretentious like others I've gone to in town. The back patio is great for a nice summer evening, you can't go wrong adding this to the list of local bars to try out when you are in town!

Yelp
Thank goodness for date nights so we can try new places. We started the night at RPH and enjoyed a cocktail/beer. The bartender was attentive and I liked the vibes inside. Bonus, people could bring their dogs (dog fan ). Great walking distance to lots of restaurants. We'll be cal back on another date night!

Yelp
Great place to grab a drink! Nice indoor and outdoor vibe. Indoor is aesthetically pleasing with very mellow lighting. There are booths to sit at or bar seating. Very clean with nice bathrooms. Great drink menu and beers on tap. I prefer the outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Patio is enclosed, has nice greenery, lights and table seating. Great location in midtown, but not on the busy street.
google avatar

Dara W.

Yelp
We stopped in here for a drink before walking around midtown. The bar was full when we arrived. Plenty of low and high tables available. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were clean although dimly lit. They have one video game available to use. It was a nice place. Good variety of drink options.

Yelp
Reno Public House is a very nice and cozy neighborhood bar in Midtown Reno. I came here to have a couple of Reissdorf Kölsch beers (4.8%). This is light tasty beer. The Bartender was very nice and the service was great. If you love beer and you're visiting or live in Reno, I highly recommend you visit this place.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly and casual. Good craft beer selection. No food so grab a bite before or after

Yelp
I've always loved this bar. It is incredibly underrated IMHO, and that's ok because it means more space for me to hang. For one, the location is perfect. North end of midtown, walking distance to restaurants and other bars and shops, parking surrounding the business, make this a home run. I like the small outdoor patio here. The high walls help you forget you're surrounded by other buildings and cars whizzing past. The interior is chill. There are long communal public tables with bar stools to sit at, and I enjoy seeing who is going to end up sitting with me when I choose this area. The bar is long and offers seating as well, and there are even a few small nooks with more intimate seating options as well. But we are here for the drinks, and these never let down and the prices are hard to believe, in a good way! I stick to the classics, and they make a mean old fashioned. Their spirits selection is diverse and they do have quite a few allocated bottles, and price per pour is typically reasonable too! This is such a solid local spot and I'm glad a special event brought me in again. I need to visit more often.
google avatar

Deanna H.

Yelp
I like the lighting. There's never music that's overly loud or anything. It's a nice atmosphere. The place is clean for a bar. After multiple visits here, and ordering different drinks each time, I have never got one I didn't like. I went recently and the bartender made a cocktail that wasn't on the menu and it was great! The bartenders are always friendly, and the service is fast. When we are in midtown, we always find ourselves here because it never disappoints. It's never uncomfortably busy either. The prices are typical for a bar... but I'd say that the prices are fairly competitive given the location -- I think they're probably lower than a lot of Midtown bars. I highly recommend the spot.

Yelp
Another great bar! If there's one thing Reno excels at, it's bars. Reno Public House comes swaggering in with a mellow chill vibe, high quality drinks, and the ability to bring your well behaved pooch along for the ride. The first time I came to Reno Public House it was with my colleague who loves Reno and Nevada so much she cries when she hears Home Means Nevada. So when she brought me here to have a "really good Manhattan" I was ready to be impressed. Spoiler: I was. Last night, on a blustery winters eve I wanted to do happy hour with my friend but I wanted to bring my dog. Being my dogs pet giver is 30% of my personality. So my friend brought my here! Too my delight, the worlds cutest pooch was allowed inside! She was a good girl and gave out wags to all the patrons. To beat the cold I had a tasty mulled wine. 5 stars for good drinks, great vibes, and a price point that your grandad would approve of.

Yelp
I really enjoy the vibe of Reno Public House. It is very laidback and feels a little dive-y but has nice amenities and features wonderful drinks that are reasonably priced. The cocktail menu has changed since I last visited. I got the El Cortez which was incredible. It was the pretty summery drink that wasn't too sweet. I never thought apricot and mezcal would pair so perfectly! Our bartender added a little apricot stuffed with mint as the garnish which was such a cute touch. Can't wait to visit again soon!

Yelp
Stopped in Saturday to see the amazing Mr. Moberly for the Hot Dogs and Highballs. The high balls were amazing and the hot dogs that were made for this event looked like they were the best tasting thing in the world. After the event we hung out and had a couple of drinks. The drink prices were great and the selection of beers and spirits were well rounded. The vibe of the bar was solid and very enjoyable. Make sure you stop in for the next Hot dogs and Highballs event and get their early so you don't miss out.

Lynn D.

Yelp
Visited here while waiting for our restaurant to open. This bar has the cool vibe you expect from Midtown. They have a full bar, draft beer with some good local selections and surprisingly some nice wines. I had a really nice rose and they also offered a white, a red and sparkling. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable-nice experience overall and I'll be back!
google avatar

Jake T.

Yelp
My favorite spot. Great bartenders. Great drinks. Great times. During the day it's nice and bright. By night it's dark and cozy.
google avatar

Alyssa F.

Yelp
This spot is always fun. Sometimes they have a live DJ but otherwise their music is always great. It is a small bar so sometimes getting a drink is a little chaotic. It's a bit dark too which kind of feels like you're in a cave
google avatar

Misty C.

Yelp
I just really like this bar and the owner was easy-going and the ambience/decor was so home-y yet sophisticated. Will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Cool place. Grumpy female bartender with a beanie and suspenders. Super bummer because we spent a bunch of money between our part of 6 and typically like this spot.
google avatar

Shaughn R.

Yelp
My favorite bar in Reno. Friendly staff, good drinks and great atmosphere. Love the patio in the summer time.

Yelp
Kyle is my favorite mixologist. His Sazerac cocktail version using the green genii of the famous New Orleans drink is life altering. Who Dat .... Cheers!

Yelp
I've driven by this place several times and never noticed it somehow! My husband and I were in the area and were looking for a place to get a drink that was open late on a Sunday, which was surprisingly somewhat difficult to find. I searched on Apple Maps and this was one of the places that came up! We were happy to have stumbled upon it. The inside is a dark yet comfortable atmosphere in the evenings with just enough light. I liked their decor of wooden tables and concrete floors that contrast the white brick and tiles behind the bar. There is plenty of space inside to bring a group for some drinks, plus they have a nice outdoor patio. They had many beers on draft to choose from, but a smaller cocktail menu (only 4 to choose from). However, there is a full bar and they can make whatever you want. We enjoyed our drinks, I had the Desert Rose and my husband had the El Cortez. It is nice that there are several restaurants in walking distance because you could easily bring food here or come for a drink after having lunch/dinner nearby. This will be a place we will keep in mind for future drink outings with friends!

Yelp
It was a nice and quiet last night and I think I found my new favorite gin cocktail. It's called the rocket man which has gin and arugula meddled into it with some sea salt and lime! I will be back to have another!
google avatar

Kim R.

Yelp
This dimly lit, somewhat dungy, cool spot is just right to hang out in alone or with a gaggle of friends. It's a great place to try some cocktails you have never heard of or some favorite standards. In addition to a decent mid to high-end selection of liquor, they always have at least 18 microbrews on draft. Anytime I've gone in there and asked about trying something new, the staff always has a suggestion, and a well formed one at that. If you want a change of scenery, just step outside and sit at one of the picnic tables or benches and enjoy some fresh Reno air while you sip your gin and juice!
google avatar

Michael I.

Yelp
I love the vibe here. Good beer, good mixed drinks. I love the open the area, great place to grab a drink after work. Bartenders are very knowledgeable about their drinks and recommendations. Plenty of seating, my only complain is parking, but that's due to the construction that is happening also. Huge plus is that they have my favorite spur from IMBIB.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
I love Public House, it's got to be one of my favorite bars in town, but take that with a grain of salt. There is a great beer selection and several wines too. My favorite thing about this bar is they have the liquor selection to make fancy cocktails when I want that but won't charge me $10 for a gin and tonic like Chapel or Death & Taxes. This place is great during earlier house like 4-7 but it gets pretty loud and dark after that. It creates that intimacy where you have to sit very close to people to hear them so that important to keep in mind if you're going for a certain vibe. The reason this isn't 5 stars for me is that I've had rude bartenders before that harangued me for closing out after a round and then deciding to get another one because it took money off their bottom line having to do multiple transactions. Ok, sorry I decided to stay for another drink - guess I won't do that next time.

Yelp
Lovely place with great collection of beers. Bartender is awesome, friendly and helpful in finding your choice of beer. Would recommend for a weekend spot with friends.
google avatar

Juliette L.

Yelp
Cool joint, stopped here along a little bar crawl with some friends. The bartender was very laid back and casual and they had a decent selection of drinks. Only compliant was the lights slowly got darker even though they didn't close for another 3 hours and the bench seats were really uncomfortable.
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
Just walked out. Sat at the bar for about 25 mins. While the bartender helped everyone else. Saw me come in and take a seat so I'm not sure, maybe I did not appear to be a patron. After seeing him taking a shot with a customer, I left. Quite humiliating and disrespectful.
google avatar

David B.

Yelp
Great little bar with a good selection of drinks. Ordered two drinks and their dry cider was absolutely delicious. Met some friends here for a few drinks and had a great time. There are also tables outside. Will definitely return here when I meetup with friends. Good customer service as well.

Yelp
Open 24/7? Basically this place will close at night whenever the last patron leaves (at least this is what the bartender said). I mean, what if it's 3AM on a Tuesday and you really want to get a beer but they closed earlier than that--would that be false advertising? I guess it's Reno so you could grab some alcohol at any casino nearby. Well, why not have all-time access at the Reno Public House as well? It's a good bar that isn't 100% stocked with everything you might want in a cocktail (no fresh fruit), but there are no frills in this classic unassuming Reno, NV drinking establishment. The bartender was super nice/friendly. Great place to meet with friends since they have long tables!
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Nice, comfortable pub with a great selection of beer/Ales and mixed drinks. Also a limited wine list.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is my jam! For those who have seen the show Cheers!, this place is your neighborhood bar. The bar tenders remember my order and the nights I come in, they recommend something when I'm feeling different and I can always find a friend. Making your way in the world we've got. Taking a break from your worries sure would help a lot. Wouldn't you like to get away? Sometimes you want to go, where everyone knows your name. And they're always glad you came.
google avatar

Yelp
Public house reminds me a lot of Lowbrau a bar back home in Sacramento. Inside the lighting is dim and creates a relaxed ambiance. Wooden seats by the bar and benches inside and outside. People will classify it as hipster. But I'll let you be the judge. Now the alcohol situation! Public house offers a variety of mixed drinks and beers. I haven't seen wine, correct me if I'm wrong. Beers are switched out as the season changes. The Bartenders take their job seriously! They make their cocktails to perfection. I like to order lemon drops and the presentation and taste are great. I also recommend the Moscow mule. You get a choice of glass cup or copper cup. If you opt for the copper cup the bartender will hold on to your id as the copper mugs have been taken in the past. This establishment is pretty busy on the weekends after 9pm and the noise level can get loud. This place would be great with meeting up with friends, celebrating a birthday, promotion and so on. If you're wanting a drink you know where to go. Cheers !

Yelp
Walked in on a Saturday with a friend visiting from SF and she picked the place. I'd been when they first opened, but it's been a long time. We were the first customers. I want to say the bartenders name was Kyle. (I think-if not my apologies) Anyway - he was friendly, and knowledgeable about beers, and explained what each was, gave me accouple tasters to try. I like a lighter wheat beer (lightweight) and once he served us, we talked abit (just the right amount) and then more customers came, and we ended up just sitting at the bar talking for about 40 minutes, and had a couple beers. Some people brought there dogs in - I'm definitely okay with that :) Great location, atmosphere, bartender and hey, even the bathrooms are clean (it's a thing) It's walking distance-ish to my house, so definitely be back some Saturday afternoon. I don't even know if they serve food sorry - just came in for the beers!

Yelp
There are a few things about this bar that really make it stand out above others in the area. The biggest thing is that the Bartenders at Reno Public House really know their stuff! You can show up not knowing what you are in the mood for and they always have the best recommendations. No matter what beer is on the menu, the bartenders can tell you everything about them. Either they love beer or they spend many hours researching beer critics critiques. I think that we all know which one it is. I hate when you ask a bartender something like "how is that sour ale?" and they respond by simply saying "good." That never happens at the Public House. Bartenders describe the beer very well and make recommendations based on the styles you prefer. This might not a bar that you would go to if your ideal beer is Bud Light and you enjoy getting rowdy while watching sports. If you want to relax and converse with friends over one of the best craft beer selections and delicious cocktails in Reno, than this is more of the place to be. The bar is pretty large with a lot of open area. They have seating to accommodate just about any size group that you arrive with and best of all, during the summer you can enjoy the patio. The best way for me to describe the atmosphere inside the Public House is that its a hip locals bar in an up and coming neighborhood. Give it a shot! Public House is hands down one of my favorite bars in town but If the atmosphere isn't for you than you can at least leave knowing you got an exceptional drink.
google avatar

Nancy V.

Yelp
I have been here twice and really enjoy the local neighborhood hangout feel of the place. They also mix a pretty impressive Bloody Mary. I was there both times with some Yelp friends and felt comfortable being there - I am way north of the hipster 20-something. The first time we pretty much had the place to ourselves and sat at the large group table in the middle of the room. The atmosphere is urban, industrial with solid wood and metal and low light. The bar sits at center stage. This is a BAR not a cafe or eatery or grill. The second time it was a lot busier, but we were able to snag some tables and chairs together in an alcove away from the crowd. The noise level can get a bit high, but again - this is a BAR and people want to party. Parking is what it is in midtown. There is a very small lot next to them that is shared with La Creme. On a busy night, be prepared to walk - it is good for you.

Yelp
I came here the other weekend and really enjoyed the experience. The bartender was very savvy and quick to help all his customers. It wasn't packed because it is COVID times, but he was the only staff member I saw that night and he did a great job. Drinks were good and brought to the table under five minutes after being ordered.
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
Nice little beer joint! A good hangout. This revitalized area of Reno is a pleasant surprise. I come to Reno once a year, I'll be back here and to the surrounding restaurants.
google avatar

Leah C.

Yelp
I recommend this bar based on the chill ambiance and large list of beers to choose from. It's large on the inside but they also have an outdoor seating area. Super laid back and the bartenders are really nice. This is a great place to go on a date or out with friends!
google avatar

Robert S.

Yelp
Been there two times. The first time it was quiet and I got two killer bloody mary's. The second time it was busy and my bloody mary was lame. The inside of this place is nice and dark, picture a florists. Now turn out the lights add a bunch of bottles of alcohol where the vases would be and remove all the flower clippings and that is what the Reno Public house is like. The guys behind the counter were friendly when both slammed and and not too busy. Parking in this area can be a small hike if it's busy. I will probably go here again. It's centrally located and they can make a killer bloody mary.

America L.

Yelp
I came here after very spicy Mexican food and the bartender Jessica gave me some tums 10/10 would recommend good drinks too!

Yelp
Oh, Public House...I want to like you, really, I do...But, I just...Don't. I was curious about Public House for quite awhile before I checked it out, and even on my first visit, I was underwhelmed. I like the open wood decor and the antique industrial lighting gives it a nice ambiance, but the seating is uncomfortable and it is always so loud in there! It's not a rowdy crowd in there, but the music is loud and the acoustics of the building just kinda naturally amplifies the human voice (and clinking of glasses!). I don't mind a lively bar, but I don't like having to strain so hard to hear a conversation I'm having. We usually just head out to the patio because of this. Speaking of the patio, I really wish they would put a few heat lamps out there during the winter... Public House has a GREAT beer selection, but their wine and cocktails leave much to be desired these days. I enjoy beer, but I'm definitely more into wine and cocktails...This is a nice place, but it kinda caters itself too much to one crowd, IMHO. The bartenders are mixed. Some are down-to-earth and friendly, yet others will ignore you. Prices are decent, and sometimes there's a food truck parked nearby so you can get some nosh. The bathrooms are often a nightmare, so proceed with caution! Public House isn't bad, it's just not my thing. It may or may not be your thing either, depending on when you go. Definitely worth checking out if you're a beer connoisseur!
google avatar

Deanna L.

Yelp
We love the atmosphere here. Jack I mean Dave is awesome! Even the customers here are super friendly and dog friendly! The taps are always changing great beers. The music is classic LPs, yes records!!
google avatar

Amanda F.

Yelp
If you asked me if I like Public House before last night, I would quickly tell you no. I've never had a bad experience, it's just not my crowd. I have also always ended up there in the Winter for some reason (when it's cold and the patio is not inviting). Not to mention I very rarely drink beer. It's hipster. It's just not my thing. Enter The Thermites. Basically the best local music around (IMHO). Where they go, I follow. When I saw that they were playing at Public House last night, I looked past all the reasons I don't go, and I got my butt down there to dance! Got there at 7:45 p.m. Dancing was in full swing. The patio in the summer is very inviting! We somehow managed to find room to sit (when I wasn't dancing). They did not have a chardonnay. They had Rose. What did I tell you? Hipster. I never, ever, drink this. When in Rome . . . They actually had Redbull for my husband (his ultra classy cocktail of choice) so the man was happy. So here I am drinking my wine, old friends show up, more old friends show up . . .and next thing you know it's 12 a.m. and I'm dragging my butt home slowly because I really don't want to leave The Thermites because they are still in full swing . . . And now if you asked me if I liked Public House . . .It's not bad. The hipsters don't bother you too much, you might even up dancing with one, or one of their many dogs who occupy the dance floor. If you drink craft beer, I bet you can find a good one there, and last night the gal working behind the bar was the quickest and kindest I've seen so far. I'll go again if The Thermites are playing.

Yelp
Reno Public house is located on Saint Lawrence Street in Midtown Reno. It's got a bit of a hipster vibe to it but I felt very welcome there. What its got: Subway tiled bar Cement floors Expose brick Communal tables Church pews with cocktail tables and metal chairs Long bar with stools with backs Full bar Wines from the tank - The red blend was tasty Snack offerings chips and ice cream sandwiches Beers by the bottle, can, tap One video game Big Buck Safari There are outdoor seating options -- patio or benches out front. I've walked by thousand times and I'm glad I popped in. Hours listed on Yelp are incorrect this is not a 24/7 bar. Saturday and Sunday they open at noon; the rest of the week they open at 3pm. Closing time is based on the amount of customers so you may want to call first. If I have time to kill in Midtown again I'll pop back in.
google avatar

Hailey H.

Yelp
Some of the best drinks in Midtown hands down. Perfect place to bring some friends or for date night. Great outdoor patio for warm summer days or nights.
google avatar

Misha T.

Yelp
good bar but when I was there the waitress was mad swamped and I had to wait forever for service. Good old fashioned that comes with a totally nuts ice cube in it. How can an ice cube be totally nuts? go try one!
google avatar

Jeremy L.

Yelp
My wife and I came here after having a meal at another local restaurant for some liquid refreshment and while we had seen it and mentioned a few times to each other. We finally decided we'd give it a try. The inside is.. different. It's very open in terms of floorplan but also a little dark. Somehow there is plenty of seating (not all at the bar) but a lot of open-ness. It can feel a little cold. That said however the bartender was very pleasant and poured me some tasty brews. Prices were average for what they are serving. Note that while they do have some wines, that isn't their forte so the conversation will go about as far as "red or white". For beers and cocktails however, Reno Public House delivers. I think we'll give it another shot in the near future.

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
Was in town for a week and stumbled across this place by accident. It was the most fun bar I went to all week. The place was cool, beers were good, and the bartenders were great even when dealing with a crowd. If I came back to Reno I would spend my money here instead of the craps table for sure.
google avatar

Mel G.

Yelp
Love this place. I work and live couple blocks away and is our go to place. The reason I love this bar is because of the comfortable environment. I am 37 and like to be able to have a conversation with my wife while having a drink. Bartenders make dynamite drinks and the best old fashion in town. Plus the prices are extremely fair. Thanks public house.

Yelp
Went here on NYE. My friend and I both ordered vodka cranberries and her bartender charged her 5$, while my bartender - some hipster guy - told me there was a 10$ minimum after already preparing my drink. I told him to just charge me the 10$ bc I had to leave and he ultimately charged me 7$ for the drink. When my friend brought the discrepancy to my attention I wrote a note on the receipt that my friend was charged less for the same drink. With a sad face. My friends later went back to the bar and the hipster bartender then refused to serve them, presumably because I pointed out that he was doing something totally scummy. Totally ruined an otherwise good bar. Oh well
