Yelp
I really wanted to like this place, but I will never go back, and I feel the money I spent there was entirely wasted.
My wife and I went here tonight during happy hour; it was empty, which should have been all the signal we needed. I ordered the 21st Amendment Mule (100% agave silver tequila house infused with fresh pineapple & chipotle pepper, with a touch of fresh lime juice, basil simple syrup & ginger beer garnished with infused pineapple & basil leaf). My wife ordered a spicy margarita, which was not on the special menu.
After a few minutes, I received my drink, but the bartender said he needed to go in the back to get jalapeño for the wife's drink. This was, of course, not a problem. What was a problem was when the bartender made drinks for a party of 5 that came in before going to get the jalapeño for my wife's drink. We contemplated leaving at that point given that it had been 10 min since I received my drink, but decided to stay. Next, the bartender told us that they had no jalapeños. I thought this shouldn't be a problem given that my drink was supposed to have Chipotle-infused tequila (presumably spicy, right?). The fact that the bartender was seeking a jalapeño at all should have been the second sign.
My wife pivoted to ordering the Lucky Luciano (House infused cucumber gluten free vodka, fresh lime, simple syrup, club soda, cucumber, salt & pepper). This drink came to us a few minutes later, but by that time, my drink had been there for almost 15 minutes.
This all would have all been fine if the drinks were any good. They were not. My drink did not taste like tequila in the slightest, certainly not spicy pepper infused tequila. I feel very confident in saying that this bar does not have Chipotle- infused tequila despite their drink menu's description. The overpowering flavor was simply ginger beer and lime. My wife's drink honestly tasted like rotten cucumber and lime. It was not good. At all. I'm guessing the cucumber infusing in that vodka were very old.
Assuming the drinks were what they purported to be, the prices ($13) would have been more than reasonable. The atmosphere in the bar was a cool, dark, speakeasy vibe. Looked cool. But 100%, we will never step foot in there again. There are too many better options for mixed drinks in Huntington. Prime, Crabtree's, Shed, just to name a few. I'm not necessarily blaming the bartender. I just don't think the management equipped him with the products he needs to do his job.
I personally worked in restaurants for over 10 years and bartended for 5. My wife worked in restaurants as well. I take no joy writing this review. Again, I really wanted to like this place, but it was a very disappointing experience.
