República Hostel Cartagena

Generally nice hostel, not the nicest but also not expensive. Air conditioning only in the dorm rooms in the evening, and the rest of the place is outside. Only cold water showers. Breakfast for 20k pesos is solid - yogurt, cereal, bread, coffee, and eggs. Nice staff with events each day! Especially Juan, Diana, and Rafael who I met at the bar. Reception is about 50/50 who speaks English or not. WiFi is good, but always drops in and out in my room even though I have 3-bars so that’s weird. The first pool is small but nice to hang out and a good vibe with the bar, but just chairs and no sun. The rooftop pool is a bathtub - I definitely wouldn’t go in it so don’t count on that…

I loved it so much! Really comfortable and clean. The staff and the volunteers were amazing. The breakfast is very good and the social activities are amazing to meet new people and have so much fun. You will have karaoke, salsa classes, pub crawls, etc. The facilities and social areas are awesome too. Highly recommend! ❤️

This place is a whole vibe, the American music, the pool right next to the bar, everything just hits differently. The people and the servers are super chill, and we were able to request music with no issues. I’d definitely go back. It’s simply amazing.

Great hostel with amazing rooftop and pool. Good location walking distance to the port, bus stop from the airport and bus service heading to Santa Martha. Reception staff are awesome are very helpful especially Jonathon who helped me in changing my shuttle. Privacy of beds is very nice thanks to concrete and curtains

Second time staying here! Celebrated my birthday a couple years ago and brought my friend and others to celebrate hers! Fun hostel, cool people, and great location!

I had such a great time at República Hostel in Cartagena! The staff are super friendly and do an amazing job of organising fun activities like bar crawls, quizzes, and more, which makes it really easy to meet people. The hostel itself is beautiful and has a full-size pool. The rooms are also well air-conditioned at night, so you can get a good sleep. I’d highly recommend República to anyone visiting Cartagena!
