Is there any açaí lover around❓
Cause if there is, I wanna say that I went to République of Coffee and I ordered an açaí bowl and what I got was... not an açaí bowl. 😓
That thing was (almost) a soup and the açaí flavor was very weak. Açaí is supposed to be mixed with something like guaraná juice (some also mix it with apple juice when guaraná isn't available). I don't know what was in that mixture, but it wasn't very sweet and I didn't like it. 👎
Also, and that's not specific to this venue, in an açaí bowl there should be granola and banana 🍌, and the rest of toppings, even if they look nice, don't match as well. Especially, I dislike any fruit that's acid. In my bowl that day, there was, at most, 1/2 a banana and it's not like there was a huge quantity of the rest of the toppings either: 2 grapes, 2 raspberries, 5 blueberries, a 1/4 of kiwi, very few grams of granola. 👎👎
About the rest of the food, the eggs benedicts were nice and well plated, but the pancakes 🥞 and eggs were just pancakes with 2 sunny-side-up eggs on the top, and one of them came broken. 🫤
The service was kind of slow, but the place was cozy, as the weather was chilly but sunny and we were sitting by the window.
Prices were moderate. Count €15 per person for 1 drink and 1 dish. Just make sure this last one is not an açaí bowl. 😅
