Well this review is due in part thanks to the RI Food Fights Burger Blow Out, but certainly not the only reason I'm here.
Res is nestled in downtown Providence at a surprisingly convenient location. Plenty of different seating, from the bar, to high tops, and even outdoor spots. The inside is open and immaculately clean. Very welcoming.
The food... well, it's been a while since a spot in RI wowed me like this one.
The burger is great, no if/ands/buts about it. Cooked over open flame and what appeared to be a sirloin blend of sorts (if my taste buds are not failing me). They don't dress it up fancy, some aged cheddar and secret sauce are added, but they let the quality of the beef do the talking. As they should. Sadly the nuggets didn't make their way onto the plate, but the fries were awesome as well.
However, as much as I love me a burger (and theirs), their other menu options are top notch. I will be thinking of the espresso spiced lamb chops for a long, long time. I'd have to say my favorite lamb chops ever. Outrageously good. Also had the Duck Confit, served over duck-fat fried rice. So. Much. Duck. Hoisin glaze adds the perfect amount of sweetness to the dish. Just an incredible meal.
If you've never been (which sadly I had not), make this your next stop. If you've stopped by before, something (common sense) tells me I don't need to convince you to go back.
