Residence Hilda, Florence, Italy - Explore & Book

"Smart hotels can mean lots of fuss - ingratiating porters, time-tabled meals, achingly slow room service and (worst of all!) other guests - which can leave you less relaxed than when you arrived. At the elegant Residence Hilda you get more privacy than at any 5-star hotel, more freedom than your own home, and you set the agenda. Whether you want to get up at the crack of dawn to be first to the sights, party all night with friends, make your own breakfasts or stay in bed until teatime, this is the place. Here you can come and go as you please with your own pass key. With 12 carefully crafted apartments over 4 floors, this tranquil haven is perfect for families and discerning couples alike. Centrally placed 3 blocks north of the Duomo, this historic apartment building was transformed after an 18-month refurbishment. Interiors are light and streamlined, designer details conspicuous only by their restraint. And their efficient and helpful team is there to help with whatever you need – from booking tours or taxis to recommending restaurants. Highs Excellent central location for sightseeing, shopping and nightlife Well equipped serviced apartments, each with a bedroom, kitchen and living room (some have an additional sofabed) No minimum stay length - unusual for a self-catering set up Cool, classy interiors which are kept spotlessly clean, with truly impeccable service There's a lift - rare in Florence's historic buildings - and 2 wheelchair-friendly rooms Lows No restaurant or breakfast room, but breakfast available at the cafe next door or delivered to your apartment. Room service or lunch and dinner available No communal areas apart from reception, but each apartment has its own sitting area (or, in the Executive, a separate sitting room) Check-in is restricted to 3-7pm; if you intend to arrive later, you need to clear it in advance" - Nadine Mellor

Residence Hilda (Florence, Tuscany) 22 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"In the foreigner’s mind, Florence strains under the weight of so much history that it’s sometimes difficult to remember that it’s the 21st century there too. It’s not all Renaissance architecture and crumbling frescoes — modern life goes on there, just like anywhere else, and contemporary small hotels like the Residence Hilda operate alongside the grand old-fashioned five-stars." - Tablet Hotels

The hotel is very well located, a short walk to the centre of Florence. There are lots of restaurants within 500m and the apartment is very spacious and comfortable with a separate lounge and fully equipped kitchen. A tasty continental breakfast is included which was a pleasant surprise! The staff were friendly and efficient and also gave us restaurant recommendations. I highly recommend staying here!

We had the most wonderful stay at Residence Hilda. Myself and my parents found the location and hospitality fantastic. The staff were so kind and helpful; my dad is disabled and it was one of the only places that was wheelchair accessible and able to make additional arrangements for us (swivel shower chair) at no extra cost. The AC was great for a very hot stay, the apartment was fresh and spacious and very luxurious. 10/10 experience, would return!

This place became my home away from home when ai visited Florence for my 40th. A part of me doesn't want to share it with the world so only ai have access but the team deserves all the accolade they can get especially the very lovely Magjda who was my go-to person for everything and anything. From giving me tips regarding local places to patiently taking my photos when asked to giving me a sweet surprise on my bday, I could go on and on to how hospitable she was and the entire team. The location is perfect with every important landmark and attraction within 15 to 20 minutes walking distance, excellent trams within 5 minutes walk as well! Looking forward to visiting again whenever I am back in Italy. Grazi mille <3

We stayed at Florence Residence Hilda and had a wonderful experience. The location is superb — easy to reach everywhere on foot, which made exploring the city a breeze. The hosts are great, friendly, and very helpful with tips and recommendations. The rooms are exceptionally clean, spacious, and comfortable. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely choose Residence Hilda again on our next visit to Florence. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a perfect base in the city!

What a beautiful way to park yourself in Florence. We spent 4 nights there. It was a great location within reasonable walking distance to nearly everything we wanted to see. Hauling a large suitcase to/from the train station wasn't easy so we took a taxi when leaving (and the wonderful women at the front desk arranged the taxi for us). Lots of room to spread out, great kitchen and table area, so we were able to bring in our own breakfast and even had dinner leftovers which we reheated in the microwave. I even managed to forget a couple sweaters in the room after we left, so they contacted us and shipped them back to our house (we paid the shipping charge) which was great. You'll love it here.

The room was comfortable, but the overall experience was disappointing. The staff were generally indifferent, and most concerning was that housekeeping removed our personal items without permission. My elderly mother didn’t notice a small sign in the bathroom—written in very tiny print—stating that drying clothes in the room was not allowed. In the intense 36°C heat of Florence, we washed and wrung out our underwear daily (not excessive laundry), using towels to absorb water and hung them neatly on a rack. When we returned, they were gone. The receptionist, rather impolite, handed us a bag of our undergarments and claimed that because of wooden floors, water was not allowed and that we should have used their laundry service—something we wouldn't use for underwear, and which wasn’t even available until the next morning when we were already checking out. They kept repeating that a sign was posted, and even said we were almost fined €200, as if they were doing us a favor—though no fine was ever mentioned in the sign itself. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels, and I’ve never encountered such an unreasonable policy. Not being allowed to air-dry even minimal clothing like underwear in the bathroom, without any direct verbal warning, and having our belongings taken away without consent is simply unacceptable. This was the only hotel where the wooden floor seemed more precious than guest privacy or comfort. Not recommended at all.

Location is superb! Close to a lot, but off the biggest crowds. |Valet parking service is offered with charging!! |Aircon is ok. The studio we had was big and spacious but felt a bit like a bunker. Windows towards walls and the only ones towards the street had the wooden panel closed. Breakfast is at a restaurant cross the street. It was continental but I guess you can order more stuff if you like to pay more

Not recommended at all. —————————————- Just to reply your comment; Your comment is completely misleading and unacceptable. We never washed trousers or T-shirts, as you falsely claimed. You returned a small garbage bag to us—how could we possibly have washed large amounts of clothing and still fit everything into that tiny bag? That simply doesn’t make sense. More importantly, you removed our personal belongings without our consent. That’s not “cleaning”—that’s confiscating or even stealing. Unless you personally checked what your cleaning staff took from our room, your accusation is baseless and offensive. You are blaming us without proof. If you had verified the items yourself, I would accept your feedback. But since you didn’t, your claims are nothing more than false accusations. You keep talking about “respecting service,” but your actions showed none of that. This was truly one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
