Residence Inn Amsterdam Houthavens

I had a wonderful stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott in Houthavens, Netherlands. The hotel exceeded my expectations in many ways. The room was incredibly spacious, modern, and immaculately clean — everything felt fresh and well-maintained. I also loved the large windows that offered a beautiful view of the harbor, adding a calming touch to my mornings and evenings. The atmosphere throughout the hotel is peaceful and relaxing, making it a great place to unwind after a day of exploring Amsterdam. The layout and decor created a cozy yet sophisticated vibe that made me feel right at home. Just a small note: occasionally, when neighboring doors close, it creates a vacuum-like sound due to the air pressure — not a major issue, but something to be aware of. Overall, though, my experience was excellent, and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a comfortable and scenic stay in Amsterdam. Location is perfect for me, just about 20-30 minutes walk to the canals. It's not really a big problem, I love having long walks. There are bus stops 2 minutes away from the place so it is no problem too.

Although this is out of the way in Amsterdam, there is bus stops nearby that take you to Central Amsterdam. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are so comfortable especially the beds. There is a pool and sauna. The restaurant at the Moxy on the ground floor is very good and the breakfast included at the Residence Inn was delicious. The people at the check in are so knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Lifetime Titanium Marriott Bonvoy Member. Staying here for a post work vacation. Hotel appears to be new and rooms are nice and well maintained and equipped. Larger than your average euro hotel room. Breakfast is good and was always hot and fresh. My first room had a broken AC unit and was warm. Once I got moved to a new room it was much more comfortable. The only downside is that the property is not really walkable to the Amsterdam city center so we had to take an uber or taxi there and back.

Great hotel , price quality ratio is excellent. View from breakfast restaurant on 9:th floor is superb. The selection and quality of the food in breakfast buffet is very good. Everything you need for a good start in order to last whole day with all sightseeing in Amsterdam.

Love this hotel, the views are amazing if you mange to book a harbor view. The hotel staff are always extremely helpful and always on hand to assist with any questions you might have. Highly recommended.

Highly Recommended ❤️❤️❤️ Coming back to Amsterdam, this place is a really welcoming, cozy and friendly place to stay at. The location and views are stunning. It’s like 15 minutes from the train station. The staff are so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable…. They make your stay worth it. The rooms, it’s a minimalistic design, practical and modern while being super functional and warm. The rooms are clean, spacious and the layout is very good. The breakfast is not overwhelming where you have no idea what to eat, but it’s well thought off and more than enough to keep you going till lunch or after. Overall,,, I love this place and it will be our official Amsterdam home going forward. The best part is the view from my bed … 🤩

Never let them charge you the deposit. Upon check-in they charged me €25 in case I'd order something for my room, and I never saw that money again. Upon my inquiry, they flat out lied to me, that the amount was released. After that I never heard from them again, nor has the amount been refunded. Obviously they do this repeatedly in hope that customers won't care.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR Would I stay here again? Yes Would it be my first choice? No Let me explain. The property is stunning housed in a funky tower sheathed with metal mesh. The hotel includes two properties: MOXY and the RESIDENCE INN that's a good thing: Residence Inn gets the cool MOXY vibe: check in at the bar, wild lobby decor, live DJ on weekends and acres of recreational space: pool, gym etc. Digital nomads will be overjoyed by thoughtfully designed spaces with lots of plugs, solid high speed internet, proper work surfaces and out of the way locations where on can work in peace. The rooms are clean and functional. MOXY rooms are smaller and less appointed, RESIDENCE INN gets a slight upgrade. And pets are allowed too. All in all great amenities, good property and a young and (mostly) cheerful responsive staff. So what's not to like? THE LOCATION Houthaven is a light industrial area with modern developments on its edges. There are few shops, a restaurant or two, a wildly expensive hairdressers and a few bits and bobs. The area feels desolate and soulless and there are few people wandering about. If you are looking for cafe culture, cute little shops, promenades to browse, THIS AIN'T IT The other issue is transport links. You have 3 options + bike (rentals available) + taxi / uber (expensive) + the government people limousine (aka bus) + walk All in all? A great package and well run operation. Just make sure that it fits your needs In fairness, the property is perfect for a certain type of clientele. Just make sure you are one of them! SUMMARY: GOOD BUT FAR

Very inconvenient hotel. It is connected to the Moxy and basically to save money they don't even keep the residence inn reception open most of the time, nor does maintenance work on the weekends. This means no one answers the phone when you call from your room and no one checks the messages in the Marriott app. I also got some ghost phone calls twice to the room midday and could not see who was on the other line when I picked up. The other part of the inconvenience lies in the location. It is literally in the middle of nowhere, near business office buildings and warehouses with a view of shipping container ships and cruises. It is a 15 min Uber into the city center. The bathroom is also very moldy The only benefit here is the quiet/peace you get from this very boring hotel.

Wonderful 6 night stay at this combined Moxy/Residence Inn Houthavens. It is situated 10-15 minutes by bus outside the city center. Bus line 48 has a stop just at the end of the block and is very convenient. The hotel is basically on the campus of Tommy Hilfiger (PVH) so there are a lot of young professionals in the surrounding buildings. You can enjoy the amenities of both Moxy and Residence Inn. Being here almost a week I was very impressed by the courteous and helpful staff at every turn. A big thank you!! Definitely would recommend and stay here again.
