We felt like more than guests. Staff made us feel like family from the time we checked in. Very courteous and helpful employees! Had to do valet parking and wish that was noted when booking on booking.com, but was thankful this hotel a 10 min walk from our graduation venue and hotel allowed us to keep car in garage until ceremony ended. Which saved us time and money in the very busy downtown Columbus. Rooms were beautiful and loved our view. Very quiet and able to find amenities very easily. Great breakfast and great options for all dietary restrictions. Highly reccomend!

Good: Excellent valet service. Impressive breakfast buffet spread with healthy options. Very convenient location to the Palace Theatre. Good food takeaway options on the same block. ||Meh: Room was very average. Needs a lot of TLC, especially in the bathroom (no soap for the sink; peeling wallpaper; screws left in wall after shelf removed) - quite dated. It was fine for one night. Also front door of the hotel you have to buzz in and push the door at the same time but it wasn't easy or intuitive.

I stayed here during a recent business trip, and it absolutely exceeded expectations. The service was top-notch from the moment I walked in—friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful staff who made everything seamless, from check-in to check-out. The location is a major highlight. Right in the heart of downtown Columbus, it was incredibly convenient for meetings, quick coffee runs, and evening walks. Tons of great restaurants and spots to unwind are within easy walking distance. The room itself was spacious, clean, and surprisingly quiet for being downtown. Having a full kitchenette was a nice touch even if I mostly used it to chill bottled water. Wi-Fi was solid, and the workspace was comfortable enough to actually get things done between meetings. If you’re traveling for work and want a hassle-free, comfortable stay with great service in a central location, Residence Inn Columbus Downtown hits the mark. I’ll definitely be back.

Old hotel built in a classy historic bank. Rooms are a bit outdated but very well kept. Front desk staff was friendly, no room service was available or room deliveries for basic items, however. Great location downtown if you’re looking to stay in the city.

This is a great hotel. The staff is so great and friendly. Very knowledgeable...........| breakfast is amazing in the old vault. Valet is easy to use. Off-site gym has everything you need to get in a great workout. |There are several nice places to visit in the area

We reserved a two bedroom/2 bath room for 3 nights for $927. Pretty typical spring break prices. But we didn’t get $927 worth of a stay. We arrived late at night and honestly went straight to bed. I noticed that the room had a smell to it and was outdated but we were tired and went to bed. I will say our king bed was pretty small and obviously old. The next morning we were headed out the door for an event by 8, so again —just focused on getting ready and out the door. I did notice the holes in the carpet and in the foot of the fridge.|Upon returning to the room around 2:00 pm I had time to really see the room. The odor was still there. I opened the drawers to try and find a spoon and noticed everything was dirty. I found the silverware in a cabinet and the storage for the silverware had food stains and crumbs. The pots, pans and dishes all had food residue on them. I loaded everything I could in the dishwasher before we could use anything.|The TV’s are straight out of the 90’s and we’re not compatible with my son’s system he brought along to play.|Our freezer started making a very loud noise that I couldn’t make stop. I then noticed stains and junk on the floor in front of the fridge.|I went down to the front desk. I was told that all the rooms have holes in the carpets and dinged up fridge doors. That the building is getting a remodel in the future. I nicely explained that the room I’ve been provided is definitely not worth what I paid for it. I was repeatedly asked, “what do you want?” by the receptionist. I want a nice room 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was then offered the ability to check out. It’s now 2:40 pm and we have to leave by 5 for an event . Checking out unfortunately wasn’t really an option. She said she’d let me speak with the GM. The GM comes out and literally just stares at me, I try and show the video of the noise my freezer is making and pictures of my room. I’m again told about upcoming renovations. I nicely explain that doesn’t help me, that I never should’ve been allowed to reserve the room for $927 if everyone on site knew it’s condition and it should be stated on the website that holes in the carpet and dingy outdated rooms are the acceptable norm. The GM said he would take money off of my bill —reduced my stay to $754–still WAAAAAY over priced! And said the maintenance man could fix our freezer after we left for our event. I said I’d like it fixed now because it’s so loud.|In walks the hero of my story! Brian the maintenance man should be the GM! He actually cared! He knocked on the door and said he could hear my freezer from the hallway. He fixed the freezer and was so polite and helpful!|The next morning we called the front desk for our car because valet never texted us their link which we explained each time we got our car but we never got the link. We got to valet and the front desk never told valet we called for our car. I was complaining to my husband and Brian—the hero!- was right there. He asked what was wrong and if he could help. I told him about one of the showers not working right. He asked if he could fix it while we were gone to which we gladly agreed! Upon our return, not only was the shower fixed beautifully, but Brian left us a handwritten note and three bags with water bottles and treats. Brian deserves a raise and yes I did call Marriott and praise Brian!|Breakfast was great! Lots of choices and helpful staff!|Valet was great! (Except our text issue) but they were super friendly, helpful and quick to grab our car!|The hotel bar and bartender were also great!

I don’t usually post reviews but I was fooled by this hotel and don’t want others to be too. There is not much I can say that’s good. The only thing somewhat redeeming is the uniqueness of the building. It used to be an old bank. However, there is so much more that could be done to preserve the history of it while keeping it updated and clean and that is definitely lacking. The bar in the hotel looks very cool. However, they only offer some snacking options and no real meals. The outdoor of the hotel looks like a run down building- dirty awning, etc. The outside almost makes the hotel look like it’s not even in operation. When we were checking in we waited at the front desk for a good 5 minutes before anyone ‘greeted’ us. Mr. White was on duty and could not have been more unfriendly or unwelcoming. It was actually super awkward how he treated us. Upon checking into our room we both commented that we had an uneasy feeling. The hotel was dark and dreary. The hallways and furniture were worn and dirty. Our room had an odor. It was very outdated. It was very hard to get comfortable as it had an overall feeling of being unclean. The couch in our room was filthy- we never even touched it. The whole hotel has very little attention to detail in terms of cleanliness and upkeep and decor. The breakfast….ugh. It was very poorly stocked- the ‘hot’ breakfast items almost always had items missing from|It. The ‘hot’ items were actually all cold, every time. It was gross and probably unsafe. Our family travels a ton for both business and pleasure. We stay exclusively at Marriotts. This was so disappointing. When we checked out I breathed a sigh of relief that I didn’t have to go back.

Yelp
Great hotel for its location, close to the palace theater(walking distance) Has a great bar area to relax and unwind in. Had a couple drinks and the soft pretzels. The staff was very friendly and helpful!! The room was very nice, a lot of room! Kitchen, sitting area and separate bedroom area. Large bathroom with tub and shower. The breakfast set up was a little crowded in the bank vault and took a while for food to be replenished. However everything tasted great! The price for a night's stay was a little expensive. But over all good experience!!

Yelp
We stayed here the night before leaving on an early flight to come back west. It's a lovely hotel located in downtown Columbus with easy access to the majority of the amenities in the area. We were particularly excited that a portion of the hotel was housed in an old bank, including the breakfast area, which was housed in the vault! We grabbed a larger room with a queen bed, and a hideaway bed for the kids. The room was outfitted in a standard fashion. the TV was rather small, though not a huge deal because we weren't there long. The thing that stuck out here was that the mattress was not very comfortable. I realize I'm totally old when I'm talking about the quality of the mattress, but we've started staying at specific hotels, because the quality seems to be a bit better. That wasn't the case here. Perhaps it was a specific room, but if it's a persistent issue, it may be worthwhile considering an upgrade of the mattress game! They offer valet parking, which is convenient, but also a bummer that they don't have self parking. It wasn't overly expensive, and given the location downtown, with limited street parking, it was probably best to have someone who knew the area parking the car. The, breakfast nook inside the vault was quite impressive and the breakfast offerings were very nice. It was great to have it in clued it in the stay! The folks working here were all very nice. Not a lot of upgrades available, but at the end of the day, they took good care of us. All in all, this is a spot we would consider staying again if we came back to Columbus.

Yelp
Beyond me on why this is even rated 4 stars. The room had blood or wine stains all over the door and the vent in the second bedroom is blocked by a wall so the room wouldn't cool down. When we tried to leave at 4:15am this morning, I noticed a man sitting on the couch sleeping with Jack and the box next to him. I thought he was a dunk guy. After waiting 17 minutes for valet, we used the app the valet suggested the night before, I went to the front desk and she went and woke the guy up. Not only did she not offer when she saw us waiting around but then the sleepy valet comes over to explain himself. We were now late for a long travel day. The only saving grace was honestly this poor front desk agent that was working Friday and Sunday night. It was so busy for him but he was patient and helpful. This property needs a serious evaluation and customer service training.

Yelp
This hotel was in a great location. Really clean room and cool Bourbon bar. Tamara at the front desk was super friendly.

Yelp
I stayed in this hotel 11 years ago before we moved to Maryland. The hotel is very nice. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Check-in was easy. The bank vault elevator was a nice touch. (the hotel is built in an old bank building) The bank vault door is used to enter the breakfast area, very cooL! 1. Breakfast was ok; most of the food was cold. 2. Parking is abysmal worst hotel parking ever. Overall though a good hotel in Downtown Columbus Ohio.

Zach S.

Yelp
The staff made the difference for me. Room was nice and big, great to have a clean kitchen. From the door staff, to check in, to the breakfast staff--everybody was lovely. They gave me toothpaste, let me borrow a charger and were lovely all around. Hotel is close enough to walk to anything downtown and is in a good enough neighborhood. I wasn't excited about staying here until I met the people who work here. The gym is terrible, and is the only thing, in my opinion, that should be adjusted.

Marleah U.

Yelp
Beautiful clean room. Enthusiastically greeted by staff. So much history in tbr building. Reasonable price. Free breakfast. Great!

Robin E.

Yelp
The location is great, staff is nice, and the lobby is very cool...our room was AWFUL. The hotel is sorely in need of a refresh. The carpeting as you exit the elevator is stained and buckled. Our room was dark and tired. The carpeting in the room is also old and dirty, the sheets didn't fit the very small bed properly, the bathroom had masking tape holding up the wallpaper!! Will not stay here again unless the rooms are refurbished.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Residence Inn is conveniently located in Downtown Columbus. I like how it was converted from a older bank building and keeping a lot of the features. The breakfast area used to be the bank vault!! The room that we stayed in though quite oddly layout with the bed facing the kitchen area?! But I do understand that there are certain limitation when converting historical buildings for other use. Love the "complimentary" breakfast as it is one of the better spread I had. The staff was also working hard to keep the area clean and well stocked! +0.5 star There are also other parking lots in the area if you prefer not to pay $24 for valet service at the hotel.

Terri D.

Yelp
Moldy shower curtain . Dirty laundry room. If you are going to charge me at least keep it clean by you housekeeping staff! Booooo

Brittany S.

Yelp
My listy review of why I will be frequenting this hotel for future Columbus visits: -super affordable (room was around $90-$100 during our visit) -$24 overnight valet (as expected for a central downtown location) -repurposed use of a historical bank with tall ceilings and the breakfast area is creatively tucked inside the vault -spacious rooms with great views -kick butt breakfast- I geeked out that they offered Brie cheese as well as toasted coconut for oatmeal (breakfast is complimentary); spinach and salsa for your eggs- you name it. -friendly customer service at the front desk

Fred F.

Yelp
Cool vibe, gross and non functioning room. The lobby is impressive and the staff is nice but I'm never coming back. - someone unlocked my door around 9;30pm ( the door lock stopped them but they got past the card reader ) - bed came with someone's hair on it - temp is not possible to control - room is not clean and is so dusty it's giving me sneezing fits - desk chair arm is really loose - complimentary breakfast is ok just stay away from the days old oatmeal that is so caked into the serving spoon you'll actually need to pry it out with another spoon, the hard boiled eggs would make better bouncy balls. Photos are of the shelf in the closet and behind the night stand. There's too much competition in the area to deal with these issues at this price point. I wish I didn't book with Expedia so I could get out of this hole.

Sandra P.

Yelp
This Hotel is Great I was here for 2 Weeks and The Food is very Good, the Employees are friendly. My Room was So Neat I loved it! House keeping was Great, And Breakfast was So Good I would I Recommend this Hotel to friends and Family

Pilar P.

Yelp
Avoid at all costs. I'm currently here. No one warned me when I checked in (nor a notice on the website), that there would be loud construction going on ALL NIGHT on the street below. As I'm in bed trying to sleep, I finally give up to call the front desk. The man who answered - Oct 3 1:45 a.m. - was so rude when I asked to change rooms. He first said "no empty rooms" then he said "well nothing in your same room type." I said, I don't care about my room type, I will pay more or anything to just get down the hall a bit away from this noise. He said "in this hotel, all rooms are along that street." Well, I'm looking down the hall, which moves away from this street, and there are rooms. So, no sleep here tonight. In the restaurant earlier, they were out of Caesar salad, oh and regular salad, and also the sliders. This is at 8:00 p.m. They already have a very limited menu. I think it's time for a quality check from whoever manages this location.

Shelby B.

Yelp
Pictures online look nothing like the rooms in real life. When I arrived and pulled up to valet I opened the car and was hit by a wave of the smell of weed so that was our welcome. The room is not updated, had mold in the bathroom, the tub was broken, there was a broken shelf in the sink area, there were burn marks in the microwave and the pull out couch was broken. Management is not willing to own up to anything.

Abby B.

Yelp
We enjoyed our weekend here in the spacious rooms, which come complete with a full-size fridge, sink, microwave, etc. Unlike other hotels I've stayed at, the walls are rather thick here, meaning you can't really hear your neighbors, meaning you get better sleep! They allow pets, which I think is great, since sometimes you have to travel with your fur baby. There is continental breakfast and it was just okay - the coffee was awful though, but luckily, there is a great coffee shop next to the hotel. The bar is nice, however, service is extremely slow. We stood at the bar for a good 5 minutes and neither bartender acknowledged us. The location looks like it's in an up-and-coming area - not much around, but a $6 Lyft ride to the Short North. One suggestion would be to fix the TV. Our guide channels were incorrect and they do not get the Big 10 Network, meaning that on game day, we had to go elsewhere to watch the Buckeyes - not even the bar had the game on! For a hotel/bar in downtown Columbus, you would think they would at least have the game on at the hotel bar.

S.J. W.

Yelp
I had a delightful stay here for 6 weeks while undergoing medical treatment in Columbus. All the staff was great, but Administrative Manager Beverly Damron was outstanding in every way. She made sure I was well taken care of and felt appreciated as a customer. One huge benefit was the hotel kept my car garaged the whole time during the ice storms and heavy snow and brought the car to me within minutes of requesting it. The building is well built and soundproof. I will never stay anyplace else in Columbus.

Mindy G.

Yelp
Not sure why I stayed all 3 nights. When I first arrived I was already thrown off by the location. In all fairness, I've never been to Columbus Ohio before so I didn't quite know what to expect in their downtown area. Although downtown, it felt pretty isolated. As I pulled up to the front of the building it took several minutes for a valet to appear. Since the hotel has no self parking, I was confused where to go. My confusion continued as I walked through the front door. There was a set of elevators with a bunch of luggage racks spread out. The lobby is actually set off from that area. The reason I'm giving two stars instead of one is completely due to the service I received at the front deal . Very happy, smiley, pleasant face, which I always appreciate! It was the only shining light during my stay. Now to my room....... At first look it was a standard residence Inn. Nothing to get excited about but nothing to be too worried about either. That is until I laid on the bed. I should have known then that it was time to look for another hotel but I was determined to stick through. I regretted that every one of the 3 nights..... After exploring Columbus a little further I realized I should have stayed in the college area which is really only 3 miles outside of the downtown area. That would definitely be my advice for any yelpers looking for suggestions!

Ashley J.

Yelp
I stayed here for Jury Duty. The room was very nice. It was big with a small kitchen living area. I would come back for sure!

Ben S.

Yelp
ARRIVAL/CHECK-IN Upon pulling up to the hotel it took a bit of time for a valet to come outside. My two friends and I already had all of our stuff out of the car and were just about to being wondering if anyone was coming when a man showed up to take the car keys. Inside there was no wait to check in and the lady at the desk was very polite, even apologizing unnecessarily for the delay when the phone rang and she briefly placed the caller on hold. The process was efficient and fast. ROOM #702 This room is right off of the elevators on the 7th floor. The view is of the air conditioning units below and the roof line of several other similar height buildings - nothing impressive. Inside the room the entry way doubles as the kitchen floor, which is tiled. A fridge, toaster, dishwasher, microwave, sink, stove, paper towels and select kitchen equipment await. There was a pitcher in the fridge that could be filled with water. (The pitcher was empty, but I think it would be a nice touch to have it filled with water with a little notecard next to it identifying it as fresh water). After the kitchen a desk (with swivel chair) and a two seat table sandwiched the aisle way into the living room. The living room had a two seat couch not much larger than the kitchen table with a coffee table in front of it. The couch doubled as a sleeper sofa. In this capacity it was actually comfortable, but it blocked the entire walkway so if someone from the bedroom wanted to get to the kitchen they would have to walk over the bed. A TV was in the living room as well as the bedroom. The TVs struck me as a bit on the small side. The TVs were modern flat screens, but were noticeably smaller compared to other hotels I thought. One nice feature was that you could log into your personal Netflix or Hulu account on the TV. Just make sure to log out because when I tested out Netflix I found a prior guest's account logged in. Through a door at the end of the living room was the bed. A sink shared the bedroom. Only the shower and toilet were enclosed in a separate space. All in all the room was clean and had what it needed to have in it. However no space was wasted and there was not a lot of floor space left. The room offered free basic WiFi which worked. FOOD The hotel serves a free breakfast and evening happy hour. On the Monday night that I stayed there was a taco bar available as well as a coffee/tea station. The decaf coffee was horrible and when I went to get tea instead the only decaf tea bag option I found left was plain Lipton. There were a few bottles of juice set out as well. PUBLIC AREAS The gym is very small. There were two treadmills, one bike and one elliptical. Those four machines filled the entire room up. There were two sets of adjustable dumbbells in the corner, but there was really no room to use the dumbbells. Your lunges will have to be done in place. There was a water machine in the room too. The lobby is pretty small. There is a public seating area, but it is mostly couch based plus two slightly higher tables and two arm chairs all arranged around a TV like a living room. Perhaps the hotel thinks most guests will remain in their rooms since there is free WiFi. Honestly that would be the better option unless you want to sit and work in the breakfast / happy hour area. There is also a business center with two computers, but the area has no doors so privacy is limited. A half wall separates it from the breakfast / happy hour area so there is also considerable noise at times I would imagine. LOCATION The location is good. The hotel is a walkable half mile from Nationwide Arena and an also walkable mile from the heart of the Short North. DEPARTURE Valet was fast and the man friendly though no assistance loading bags into the car was offered. Overall, if I had to stay in the area again, I wouldn't be drawn to this property, but I wouldn't cancel my plans if it was the only hotel available. You will be comfortable, but you will not be spoiled and you may want to seek refuge outside the hotel for coffee, tea, lounging outside of your room and exercise.

Gerardo A.

Yelp
Locate in downtown where you can find a few good variety of restaurants and be near the Nationwide area, Short North, and Ohio State Campus, the staffs are very friendly and the helpful. The building was a bank and they still concert a few items of the bank with making the decoration unique. The room that I stay is quite big and the layout is nice, although the beds are not so comfortable, I had a kitchen in my room but did not use it, but I notice, that you can make a list of items and give to front desk and they will buy it for you. Breakfast is complimentary, for all who visit the hotel, even if you are not a gold member of the Marriot. The hotel also has a small GYM, with you need your key to access it. Parking like anyplace near this area this around 24 dollars overnight, but you can find a lot of buses line, and uber near the area.

Kt W.

Yelp
I absolutely, positively loved my two week stay at the RI downtown Columbus. The valet staff really made me feel like I was coming home everyday and the front desk staff is so friendly and helpful. The property is really neat and beautiful in the old bank, and always clean! The location in downtown Columbus could not be more perfect!

Kristen D.

Yelp
We have had to reschedule our wedding block with this hotel .... twice. Finally settling on a date next year. Kezia has been AMAZING to work with and has been so kind and understanding during this entire process. We are so excited to hold our wedding block here, as the hotel is SO pretty, has an amazing bourbon bar, a great location, and wonderful staff.

Bryan M.

Yelp
These rooms are so tiny for a R.I. I been platinum elite for years with Marriot and never been in an R.I. this small. Requested an upgrade 2 weeks prior (woulda paid extra) but told was sold out but when I went to the Marriott app I could still reserve a 2bdr suite. Checkin in was fast, rooms tiny, typical RI breakfast, nice bar, asked for extra towels never got em, asked for extra blankets never got em.. so I went across the street to the other Marriot property and used poi ts to get a other room and let the kids stay in the tiny room. Took 20 minutes for valet and this was 4 PM Sunday afternoon with no one else around. Oh well lesson learned

Kristin C.

Yelp
Had a wonderful stay at this cool old bank turned hotel. The desk staff were very helpful -- we asked about stuff going on around town and when we came back to our room a few hours later we found a note and print outs of their favorite restaurants and events. Comfortable room and bed. Breakfast was free and offered much more than the average continental hotel breakfast. Conveniently located for us. We were able to walk to COSI and out to dinner. We had a car to explore some of the sights that were a bit further away. Would definitely stay again when in Columbus!

Ian B.

Yelp
Okay, this hotel is hands-down the coolest hotel I've been in years. So I'll start off with the obvious, that I love the decore, ambience and style of this hotel. The building has been repurposed from its original use of a bank to A very unique hotel. This tickles a little part of my heart for businesses that repurpose old buildings instead of tearing them down and building new ones. From what I was told the city put them on a slightly restrictive leash regarding what they can do with these spaces for a three-year period. So when you come through the main entrance and come into the lobby the room opens up into this grand hall and the further back you go the cooler the place is. They use lighting that really shows the beauty of the original architecture. They have brilliantly used old parts of the bank for instance the bank vault door is the entry way to the food area for breakfast. The place is kept immaculately clean, and when there are periods of slow traffic there is someone always cleaning or making sure everything looks perfect. My experience with the staff here was absolutely amazing. There was no big event that sold me just the consistency between all the employees, their concern that I was happy in all areas of my stay, A smile on everyone's face and thank you, my pleasure at the end of every conversation. I was only staying for a night so I chose the smallest room available. It was actually about the size of my first apartment. The room smelled clean, all the appliances were very clean, no dust no stains.... Breakfast on the other hand was fine but just like every other hotel eggs sausage biscuits waffles the usual. Which is fine because that's what all of the residents inn's serve. The exercise room was smaller than most but still had two treadmills and elliptical trainer and a seeded bike. They did however have a great lounge area. a TV to watch movies on, a large couch and a full bar with a great bartender. The only downside I found with the hotel was parking. The only reason why I did not take away from the rating was because all of the hotels downtown have the same problem. You either have to find a parking garage or park somewhere nearby yourself or pay for valet parking. The valet parking here was $20 but your car is being stored under ground in a private secure a lot. What sold me on making this not a negative was that the valet team here gave you the ability to send a text message or scan in a QR code or call the front desk at any time you wanted your car and if it was through text they'll even update you when your car is ready or is it about to be ready, Technology baby!! Overall of all of the Residence Inn hotel chains, courtyards or any other Marriott chain that I've stayed in this one is the best! #Marriott #Hotels #ResidenceInn

Yelp
ATTENTION TRAVELER: Suck it up and pay the $27 per day valet fee or risk parking in the city garage behind hotel on Long. I did the former and had my vehicle broken into, costing me hundreds to repair damages and replace valuables. 1 star off for broken coffee maker (1305). Could not adjust strength. Had to do it manually by making 1/2 pot. 1 star off for defective doors. Don't know about the others but 1305,1307, and 1309 not only slam shut but they also hit and rub the door jam. Metal door on metal jam is so loud it stuns you out of a sleep. Almost as loud as a gun shot. It's a very nice and very clean hotel. Sheets, pillows, and towels feel amazing and love the internet TV! Continental breakfast is very good except the eggs were kind of slimmy. Staff was very nice and check in and out went very well.

Michelle R.

Yelp
Excellent location and the rooms were very spacious. The kitchen was well stocked, and even the breakfast was great. The 5th floor was great. I wish the view of the city was better. Walking distance to a Starbucks, and across the street is a nail place and restaurants. The only reason for the 4 stars was the "Happy Hour" was a little misleading. I thought we'd get free muchies, like trail mix, pretzels, or something to go with our drinks. Many hotels offer free soft drinks, but I had to pay for my pepsi, and it was a "used" opened bottle (so it was flat). Valet is $20 per day, and some people posted their cars got broken into. Mine didn't but it still made me worried.

Brittany H.

Yelp
Hotel is really nice! Included breakfast is always a plus. The only downside is there isn't a garage for self park. The only option is valet parking. But overall a very nice stay

Chris D.

Yelp
This must of been an old bank. Its definitely an old building. The gym has about 4/5 treadmills no much else I don't recall seeing any weights. You can go to the gym around the corner which isnt bad but it ls a Hulkamania gym if you dont mind those types. The rooms are old but they have been renovated but you can see and tell is old. Breakfast food was not bad your typical hotel food. But parking, is maybe the hardest thing. Its gets really tight in that are and there's no hotel parking at all.

Yelp
As a Marriott platinum elite mega super important customer guy I have stayed at more than my share of RI and other Marriott properties around the US. This one us amazing. It is different than other RI properties, but that is a great part of the hotels charm. My second stay here with my wife and the rooms are nice, clean and we'll appointed. Breakfast, which is served in the old bank vault, is good, bar is nice, old bank decor is interesting and fun. Loved both stays here and will stay again any time we are in Columbus!!!

Yelp
I stayed here last week while in town on business. The staff was fantastic. I had a flat tire on the rental car and the front desk called me immediately and the valet team but a donut on it. They were super accommodating and the gentleman at the front desk even followed up with me a few days later to make sure I got to my destination safely in a new rental car. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in town.

Yelp
I love the historical aspect of this hotel. It use to be a bank and was converted in 2008 into a hotel. There are pieces of the bank history all over the downstairs lobby area. The breakfast here was good and I like many others liked that you had to go threw the vault door to reach it. Our room was nice even though when you pulled out the sofa bed you could barley get back threw to the kitchen or the bedroom. What really bring the rating down for me is the bed. The point of a hotel is to sleep... Well I spent most of the 2 nights I stayed here tossing and turning trying to get comfortable on a bed that was anything but comfortable. It was squeaky and hard and just felt like an old rickety bed. It would have been a much nicer weekend had the bed not been stif as a board.

Yelp
This Residence Inn has set the standard for all other Residence Inns that I'll likely ever stay at. So, I guess, sorry to all other Residence Inns. I was a bit in shambles when walked up to this stunning building to check in. I just stepped off a flight and basically wanted to crawl into a hole because I felt so sick. Sinus infection + turbulent flight = horror. The very nice staff member behind the desk, Ashley, was sweet enough to get me into a room right away (at 10am) and even walked up a print out of two local family practices within walking distance. As for the room, I actually checked into a handicap accessible room, which may or may not be larger than the typical guest room. Regardless, I was impressed by the large sitting area, generous kitchenette, desk, comfy bed and large bathroom/vanity. The comfy bed and flatscreen LG were a welcome respite at the end of the day when I still felt like death warmed up. A couple of other notes to keep in mind... 1) The location is fantastic. Right on Gay street with great access to plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. 2) I wasn't well enough to check out the workout area, but it is open 24 hours. 3) Typical buffet breakfast is served off the lobby each morning, so that's always a plus. 4) My room had a pass through door to an adjacent room, which was surely locked on the other side (just like mine). The gentleman next door must have been under the weather as well, as I heard the poor guy coughing about every 10 minutes. Clear as day. When I find myself in Cbus again, the Residence Inn is high on my list!

Yelp
This is one of the coolest hotels I've ever stayed in. Anywhere. The building used to be the Buckeye State Building and Loan, and they converted it into a hotel! I love staying at hotels that have been converted from a previous use(an old river paddle boat and a grain silo being the most notable). I mean, who wants to stay at a boring cookie cutter hotel that is the same exact layout in every other city? Lame! Pushing my way through the revolving door I had no idea the cavernous lobby space that awaited me... I could only stare in awe, mouth agape at the beautiful mason-work of the massive ceiling and walls, every detail borne out with the flood of natural light from huge windows. To the back of this giant lobby is a sort of loft area holding the hotel bar and lounge(happy hour during the weekdays!), the workout room, and a meeting room which they will furnish with food and beverage at your request. The kitchen is on the main level in the freaking vault! And yes the vault door is still there(that thing is seriously beefy). Complimentary breakfast everyday consisting of eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, biscuit/tortilla/croissant, cold and hot cereals, make your own waffle station, make your own yogurt parfait station, bagel, toast, english muffin, fresh fruit, coffee, and juice. Plus they have complimentary dinner nights a couple times a week with such themes chili dog or fiesta(tacos, nachos, etc.). Basically they give you the hookup on food... While the building itself may be old school, all the amenities are definitely modern and definitely chic. The decor of the rooms are as nice as any Vegas hotel, plus you've got a full kitchen with range-top, dishwasher, sink, fridge, etc.! Plus every room has a flat panel HDtv and HBO. Bottom Line: Great experience in a an awesome old building! Aside from two separate run-ins with a rude kitchen staff member, my stay could not have been any better. I can't think of any reason to stay elsewhere in Columbus!

Yelp
As a couple of the other reviewers already stated, I've never quite seen such a unique Residence Inn location anywhere in the U.S. The old bank location which now houses this beautiful and modern hotel was a SUPERB idea and made me think a little better of Marriott these days because they saved such an historic building. The rooms were amazing! I opted for a one bedroom suite. I couldn't believe how clean it was and I didn't find one thing out of order. I'm a world traveler so hotels are very important to me because I tend to get use out of the accommodations. This location really satisfied me and I'll definitely be staying here again when we return to Columbus. The layout of the rooms, kitchen amenities, linens, bedding, towels, etc. all above average and usable. One evening my coffee pot stopped working and someone immediately brought me a new one out of the box. Another evening I didn't have a corkscrew for some wine (I was told there was one in the kitchen drawer). Immediately someone came up with a new one. Awesome service! Wifi is free in the rooms and unlike many hotels, the wireless connection was powerful and quick. I worked in the room several of the days during my stay and downloaded everything I needed without a problem. The breakfast buffet in the morning was one of the best buffets I've seen. The food actually tasted great! And they served some really delicious biscuits and gravy that I never get! It was a real treat! In summary, this is definitely my Columbus hotel location for future trips. The value, space, modern amenities, breakfast, service, all add up to a very, very nice stay in a superb location in downtown!

Yelp
As a true business traveler, it's pretty rare for me to rate a hotel 5 stars, but I truly enjoyed my stay here while in town for the weekend. We chose this place because we were traveling with our two dogs, and Residence Inn accepts pets with a non-refundable fee. The building is gorgeous inside and completely unlike any other Residence Inn I've ever seen. The room was a little on the small side (queen bed, no king), but still comfortable. New bathrooms, new kitchen, tasteful granite, nice cabinets. The breakfast is pretty good (yogurt parfaits were my favorite!), and the internet is free. It's a good location to explore most of Columbus. Just about the only thing I can complain about is the expensive valet-only parking. You can park in the garage next door, but if you stay over on a Sunday, try for a meter out front and park for free!

Yelp
by far one of my favorite hotels in Columbus right in the heart of downtown the most comfortable beds and the staff are phenomenal 5 star customer service always a good experience they make you feel right at home

Yelp
5 stars is hard to come by for me. I love Marriott and whenever i travel i try my hardest to stay at one, so when I went to Columbus Oh for a convention I was thrilled to know I had my choice of three different brands of Marriott. I picked this one even though the other was closer and didnt even have a restaurant or pool (which are key for me). The decor of this hotel was something I needed to see and I deff wasnt disappointed. I was surprised by the fully stocked kitchen and loved how the place was set up; it felt really homey. Being 8hrs from home, feeling at ease made things so much better and I was able to enjoy my week stay that much more. We had a few mishaps but like Marriott always does, our problems were solved with ease. Location was key for us and I loved my stay so much I made another special trip to Columbus just to re visit the area. My husband and I fell in love with the city, and I sit here now writing this review to say Ive now moved here to Columbus and part of the reason was the homey-nes I felt from the very first stay I had with Marriott Residence a year ago.

Yelp
This is, by far, one of the best Marriott properties I've ever stayed in. As other folks have mentioned, the breakfast is great, the old building is beautiful, the rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff is delightful. PROTIP: Parking behind the hotel! Take the immediate right turn after the hotel (if you're on Gay St) go through the little alley, and turn on your next major one way. The garage you'll park in is on the right. It's $10 overnight, but since there is no attendant, it's only $5 if you leave first thing in the morning. PROTIP PROTIP: Be cautious of street cleaning. The hotel side of the street is cleaned Monday Morning (if you're parking overnight on Sunday) from Midnight to 6am and the side opposite is done on Tuesday Morning (if you're parking overnight Monday) from Midnight to 6am. Failure to move your car will get you a $25 ticket. Also! Parking is now metered until after 10pm. It should be criminal! PROTIP PROTIP PROTIP: Pay your ticket. PROTIP: There's "Cafe Brioso" next door -- they make some of the best effing coffee I've ever had. Seriously. It should be criminal to stay at this hotel and not go for coffee next door.

Yelp
I stayed there for more than 6 weeks between 2014 and 2015 and would stay here again if I get a chance. Excellent service, they remembered me by my name. High points include: - About 20 items in the lavish complimentary breakfast. - Provided me with laundry supplies (free). shaving Kit (free) - Really quick and friendly valet service - Free light dinner served 2-3 days a week - Every room is a suite and has a FULL kitchen - Great location, right in the middle of downtown - Friendliest staff Beat that?

Yelp
The good: The staff are super nice and the rooms are great (flat panel tv; couch; free wifi; kitchen; frig). The so-so: Breakfast is free, but kinda gross; There is a gym, but it is too small to really use (fortunately you can go across the street to metro fitness, which is another story); The bad: There is no hotel kitchen, so room service comes from the way overpriced Due Amici from across the street and there is few delivery options otherwise; the hallways typically have a strange odor; no pool; and the bar is always empty.

Yelp
Since this hotel used to be a bank vault, there's a lot of old vault boxes that are still left there. Then there's vault decorations added in as well on the elevators. The breakfast buffet was alright, would've liked a vegetable or two. The hotel also has a partnership with the closest gym, if the crappy hotel gym isn't good enough for you, you just have to show them your key card and you're good to go! Overall the hotel is clean and is well kept.

Yelp
What an awesome hotel in Downtown Columbus! We got so lucky to land this place using Priceline! Located right in the heart of Downtown, we were so close to everything to walk to! The hotel has $20 Valet parking with in-and-out privileges, a big plus. Rather than do the hassle of paying for the different lots and meters, we just did that. It seemed pretty reasonable, and it was one less thing to worry about. The staff was extremely friendly, and the hotel, being inside an old bank, was STUNNING. The lobby and first floor had all the old charm of the old bank, with high ceilings, old signs, and other little things here and there including the vault door which I loved. We ended up getting a studio suite for our room, with a full kitchen including a dishwasher. We didn't need that much space, but no complaints here! The room itself was modern and very nice. There was free Wifi, complimentary breakfast, all that good stuff. This was seriously a great 3 star hotel in Columbus. It is very well managed and well maintained!

Yelp
Everything PERFECT, EXCEPT for the girl working in the breakfast area morning of Sept 2, 2017. She had a VERY BAD ATTITUDE and not very eager to help. Suggest she get some further customer service training. Otherwise, i would have given a 5 star rating.

Yelp
Beautiful historic hotel in an old bank building. Rooms nicely appointed with kitchenette/living room and separate bedroom/bath room. Hot breakfast- nicer than most hotels (cereal, oatmeal, waffles, eggs, meat, etc) was served from the old bank vault. We stayed for our anniversary and used Marriott points, so not sure on the value for money. We loved the old style and found it a lovely hotel. Would and will plan to stay again!

Yelp
OK so I've stayed here the last two times I've been in Columbus OH and it's a really solid spot. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the breakfast is awesome since they change it up just enough each morning. The building is pretty beautiful as well, especially the main lobby interior although the only thing that was a little funky was that our room had a vague hint of armpit smell. Not sure what that was about but it was just faint enough not to be bothersome and we kept forgetting to ask them about it. Obviously it wasn't enough to make that much of an impact on us as we'll definitely be coming back!

Yelp
The hotel is in a beautiful building, and the rooms are spacious, having the exact same decoration as every other Residence Inn. I stayed on the 15th floor, and my only complaint was that there was a constant banging noise and rumbling feeling either from the ventilation system or the elevator shaft. When I checked out, I mentioned this to the staff at the desk, who (disingenuously) acted surprised. I'm staying in this hotel again in two weeks, and I hope they've fixed the problem.

Yelp
This is a great Marriott property. Conveniently located right in the middle off downtown with tons of restaurants and bars all around and it's still easy to hop off the highway and get there. The building was a bank and they've made some really clever uses of the bank spaces to give the hotel and boutique feel. But after your free breakfast in the vault, you still return to your fully appointed room with a kitchen and all the Marriott amenities you might be used to (if you're a points hoarder like myself). Great value!
