I had a 16-night stay at the Residence Inn Missoula Downtown and let me just say, I will NOT be returning to this hotel! I frequently stay at the Marriott and have always had great experiences, so it was very surprising to see the low standards at this one. First, when I checked into my room, I had the option of self-park in a downtown area, or valet. Valet was $22, but since I was working 14 hour night shift, I didn't want to have to deal with finding parking or paying a meter. Valet gave me a ticket and said to call 20-30 minutes before I needed my car, and they'd have it ready. Upon check in, I informed them I would not need any routine room service since I will be sleeping days and would let them know if I needed anything. When I got to my room and inspected it, the dishwasher was filled with dirty dishes that I had to then wash, and the bathroom had hair and soap grime that clearly hadn't been cleaned from the prior guests. The next evening, I called down 20 minutes before I was planning to leave, and when I got down there, my car was not there, and they had not even left to get it yet. Luckily, I was early cause I wanted to get to work early. The next day I called down 30 minutes before and when I got down there, again, no car. Their excuse, "oh we probably put it back because it was sitting there and we need the space". WHY WOULD I ASK FOR MY CAR IF I WASN'T COMING TO GET IT??? They assured me that if I was going to be needing it at a specific time, they could just set it up to have it out here, so that's what I did. The next two times it was there and waiting, and then the third time it was not out there, and no valet was around, so I went to the front desk to inquire where valet was and that I needed my car. The snide lady at the desk looked me up and down and said, "well did you call to have it ready?" to which I answered, "no, because they have it set up to have out there." She rolled her eyes, then called the valet on her handheld radio and I just went outside to wait for my car, which a valet person ran out, grabbed my keys and went to get it. Then, after I had been there for a week, on my way to work, I stopped by the front desk and told them I am working nights, so could they have housekeeping stop by first thing in the morning to change the sheets on my bed. The lady looked at me and said that housekeeping is done for the day so no. I said I understood that, I am asking if they can set it up to have housekeeping do it first thing in the morning before I am back from work. Next morning, no clean sheets. I go down and ask them if they can send housekeeping up there and the lady says if I didn't have it scheduled then no. I explained that I did ask last night and that I can go for a walk or something to give them time to change the sheets. So I went for a walk and an hour later, no fresh sheets. Exhausted, I just went to bed. That night I went down and asked again if they could please have my room refreshed and the lady said the same thing, housekeeping isn't here, yada yada, so I repeated what I was asking for. Lady asked what exactly did I want done with the room, and I said, can you please just change the sheets. I am fine with everything else, I can clean after myself. Next morning, the MADE THE BED WITH THE SAME SHEETS!! What kind of service is there where you are paying hundreds of dollars a night and can't even have them change the sheets ONCE in a two week stay?? And then to treat me so rudely. It took everything in me not to yell at the lady and the manager. I am tired of hearing the excuses of being understaffed. If you are understaffed, then DON'T SELL OUT ALL YOUR ROOMS!!
