Stayed here for a couple of nights in July. This is a decent three star hotel. Rooms are definitely roomy and there was a fold out couch in my room so it could’ve had some other folks stay. Also had a little mini kitchen. Bed was comfortable, though pillows not so much. Nice spacious lobby, great place to hang out, have a cup of coffee, etc. Decent breakfast buffet came with the room. Nothing fancy, but will definitely take care of your morning appetite. There is a pretty decent snack shop attached to the hotel. Really has everything you’re gonna need including a nice selection of wines. Hotel staff was very nice and quite helpful. i’d say the best thing about this hotel was its location. Just a couple of blocks from the National mall, Smithsonian, US capital, etc. Also several restaurants, pizzerias, etc. with an easy walking distance. If you’re coming to visit the capital with your family, I’d say this was a pretty good place to stay.

Excellent service. Tanya and all other staff were superb in their service and attention. The room was super spacious, very clean and well stocked. Enjoyed an excellent array of menu options during breakfast. The food was fresh, well cooked, well presented and warm. The staff present during breakfast was also very helpful and proactive in making sure that our needs were met. Would definitely revisit and recommend this location for a stay.

Google
Good location, Good stay. I would stay here again for work but not for leisure. The hotel was packed…I think it was spring break? I requested early check-in aligned with my flight landing, about 90 min before regular check in, which has never been an issue at any Marriott in the world and not only did I not get early check in, my room wasn’t ready until 15-20 min after the standard check-in time when I saw others who came in after me getting checked in. It would have been nice to be offered points, item from the market, an apology…Staff was overall friendly and the room was spacious and comfortable but the ice maker in the freezer ran 24/7, was loud, and there was no way to turn it off. I even googled how only to find the on/off switch was missing. I didn’t even use ice and the tray was overflowing. I didn’t bother calling maintenance since I was only there for 2 nights and wasn’t in the room for much of the trip, pretty much only the sleep. The store/mini market attached to the hotel is pretty pricey but there is a Safeway in walking distance, which was a good spot to get some provisions. Good selection of nearby restaurants and The Wharf is within walking distance and there’s more options there.

Pros: Excellent location with easy in & out parking. The only hotel we could find near the National Mall that had a 2 bedroom, 2-bath suite available. Very nice free breakfast with great selection. Housekeeping cleaned every day. Has a small store with a huge selection. |Cons: Indoor pool is very small & hot tub had brown suds on top. This hotel needs a bar & restaurant.

My sister and I just stayed at the Residence Inn DC National Mall location and had the most amazing experience from check in to check out with Front desk employees Ms. Tanya and Mr. Collin. Ms. Tanya checked us in and was so welcoming that we felt like she was a family member that we have known for years. She was pleasantly nice and her excitement that we were in town for our friend’s graduation from Howard Law School. She complimented us and other guest who came in. Mr. Collin was at the front desk when we returned and he did not disappoint, picking up where Ms. Tanya left off. He was welcoming like a family member as well and even suggested a Station 4 as a restaurant we should try. His sense of humor did not go unnoticed as well. Prior to checking in, I had not thought twice about if I would stay here again, however, it is most definitely going to be my go to hotel each time I return, especially, if Ms. Tanya and Mr. Collin are there.

The Residence Inn - DC / National Mall is a gem! Really, really CLEAN! Many thanks to the incredible housekeeping staff (Deyni) who cleaned our 2-bedroom daily and always creatively arranged my kids’ stuffed animals. They were delighted every day after sightseeing and I was delighted because I’m used to Disney which only cleans after 5 days. The beds are so comfortable that our whole family of 5 slept great, even my teen on the couch. ||The location is very close to the Capitol and museums, especially Air and Space, Bible, and the Museum of the American Indian. It’s a 5-minute walk to Federal Center SW metro station, which has the blue, orange, and silver lines, and one stop away is L’Enfant Plaza where you can easily transfer to green and yellow, so even farther locations like Adams Morgan are easy to reach. Archives was only 15 minutes away door-to-door. Breakfast checked the box providing sustenance for the family, and the staff works hard to feed many quickly. The only downside was that our grocery delivery was left on a shelf across from the desk and I received no text or call that it had arrived, but that’s more Instacart’s mistake. The parking garage is incredibly convenient too - you can access it from the hotel elevators so no need to go out in the rain. Overall a wonderful stay!

Google
The service is great, the staff are very nice and helpful. The rooms are clean. The location is great, a short walk to The Mall and a shorter walk to NASA HQ if you have business there. The breakfast is above average for a Residence Inn. The AC was a godsend on maybe the hottest and highest humidity days I experienced in DC. Definitely would stay there again.

Google
Great location, was walking distance to most all spots of interest. The staff was friendly. The breakfast was good. The room size was a plus. Our family of four was not cramped. The pool was a little chilly. But otherwise great stay for our 9 night trip.

Yelp
This hotel is nice for tourists. It's only 2-5 minutes walk to a metro stop and only 10-15 minutes walk to the National Mall in one direction and L'Enfant and the wharf in another direction. It's also in a convenient place to catch an Uber or other ride as it's not on a busy road. It's also full of a lot of tourists so keep that in mind. They have a free breakfast buffet that's fine-to-good but it is jam packed with families, many of which are just on a free for all. Kids who should probably be getting assistance from an adult are weaving in and out of the buffet line. It can be chaotic. They have a pool which is nice, and it's indoor which helps for the non-summer months. NASA is also across the road and they have some neat things. It's mostly an office building for them so don't expect a lot, but for a 1 minute walk and the price of free, go check it out. Edit: I forgot to add that they do have some gluten free options for breakfast. They had a bagel and a chocolate muffin when we were there, both by Udi and both good. This was actually a pretty nice additional feature of the breakfast.

Yelp
Pros: Great location and awesome little store within the hotel. We decided to take an electric bike everywhere and the location was in the middle of it all. Cons: Beds are extremely hard, and pillows are very uncomfortable. We asked if they happen to have other pillows, and they brought us the same pillows. Looks like they remodeled but didn't do the ceiling and walls were dirty. The view was not good either. Food in the morning was inconsistent. Overall: For the price you may find a better place to stay, overall we had a good time but any longer I would need to go by a pillow topper for the bed.

Yelp
The hotel over all was decent. I hold my expectations high for when I travel. One thing that could have Ben better was the pool. The murals were very enjoyable, but the hours. When I'm in DC, I'm there for work. And I work from 8-10. And at every hotel I've went to I swim at 6, and if the hours work then at 10 too. But, this hotel's pool only opens at 10am. This is very inconvenient for me and my colleagues. I would definitely give this hotel a higher rating if the hours on the gym and pool were more convenient. Overall, the staff was very kind. And I would return again!

Yelp
This stay was better than expected! We were able to travel into town early enough to avoid any major traffic. We were able to check in before time and the room was perfect for us two... a studio! Check-in was a breeze, the beauty that checked us in was efficient and to the point. Another beauty that stood out during our stay, Ms. ShaDiamond... a heart so pure and a spirit super charming! I loved her accent and friendly demeanor during our 3 night stay. She is definitely a jewel and knows how to make the public feel welcomed. Ms. Antionette was a pleasure as well with her sweet voice and kind spirit. We will definitely visit this hotel again and again. The breakfast every morning was fulfilling and so so good! This was our first time and it will definitely not be our last: ) The hot tub needed a bit of TLC, but it didn't hinder our stay. We stayed here to attend the SITW three day festival about a 20 minute walk to the festival grounds... no biggie at all. The parking on site is rather pricey but convenient at its best! We were able to snag a spot right next to the elevator entrance. I highly recommend this hotel. Have fun and enjoy life :)

Yelp
We stayed here for one night during a long weekend in Jan, 2024. We were traveling under a limited budget and chose this hotel after doing a lot of research. We were not disappointed. The checkout process was smooth. The room (Studio room with a King bed) and the bathroom were very clean and large enough for our family of four. The breakfast was fabulous, considering that it was free; there was a lot of options, even for me who typically choose healthy food (a photo of my breakfast is attached). I asked one person and got a gluten free bagel. We requested a few things from the staff (like a toothpaste and a blanket) and they were very pleasant and prompt. There is a pizza store and a burger store right next to the hotel and a Potbelly sandwich stop within 2-minute walk; for other food options, one has to go further. We could not go to the swimming pool as one in our party had an upset stomach, but heard other hotel guests saying good things about the pool. Because of the $50+ parking charge, we used Colonial parking lot number 177 that is a 3-minute walk from the hotel--we booked using Colonial website for $23 for 24 hours. The Spy Museum, some Smithsonian museums, Botanical Garden, and the Capitol are within walking distance or a $10 Uber ride. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. The hotel is better than what a 3.5-star Yelp review suggests. We would gladly stay there again.

Yelp
I stayed at the Residence Inn Marriot for three nights with two teens over the President's Day long weekend. We purchased their two-bedroom suite. Pros: Spotless and spacious living room, two full bathrooms, reasonable complimentary hot breakfast, small convenience store with snacks/souvenirs/wine-beer/bottled water/milk/cereal/etc., adequate full kitchen (pots, pans, full stove, dishwasher, utensils, plates, wine glasses, mugs, glasses, microwave, and normal-sized refrigerator). Cons: Room was cold even when turning up the thermostat, living room television didn't consistently work, on-premises convenience store was extensively more expensive than most others off-premises, no quality restaurants in the immediate area (you'd need to take a 10-15 minute walk to get to the pier restaurant area), staff seemed a bit cold (with me), other patrons seemed a bit different -- I received a lot of stares, which was a new experience for me in Washington DC." Overall, the accommodation was decent. It seems like this hotel is popular among families, especially those with religious affiliations. I chose this hotel because the Washington Hilton and the Churchill Hotel near DuPont Circle were fully booked. More than likely, I'll look for a hotel near DuPont Circle (where I usually stay) for the restaurant and convenience/drug store options, which are paramount for me the next time I visit.

Yelp
Stayed here for a week. It was a good hotel. Nice to have a decent breakfast for once. Plenty of options available. I will say the fridge in 1113 had a weird sound that kept coming from it that sounded like a woodpecker pecking. Only noticed it when the room was quiet and it would come and go. The room needs a bit of an update as well. But overall I found the staff friendly and I'd stay here again.

Yelp
On a recent trip from Boston down through Williamsburg we spent an extended period of time in the Washington DC area. There were two families and a total of five kids all under the age of nine, so we were looking for a place that was both spacious and allowed us to get to the main attractions of the area in a quick fashion. This place was far and away the best spot we found and we were delighted with our stay here. It's located just off the freeway, literally two blocks from the national mall. That alone would have made paying double what we did worthwhile. Each family had a one room suite and for both parties it worked out very nicely. We have three little dudes who are always excited about sleeping on a hide a bed... This is good news for mom and dad who are never excited about sleeping on a hide a bed. The bedroom had plenty of space, the living room had plenty of space and did include a larger than normal sofa with the aforementioned hide a bed. It actually made it nice for the young gentleman to be able to spread out a bit more. The kitchenette was a good size per usual and the hotel amenities were good. It was a nicely appointed workout room and a small store It was attached to me lobby. This in addition to the mini convenience store in the actual lobby. Parking was in a garage below the building and easy to get in and out of. The breakfast was pretty epic for being included in the price! Waffles, eggs, meat, fruit, bagels, juice, hooray! It was basically a breakfast commercial every morning. Staff was friendly and helpful, everything was clean and the location was primo - it's hard not to love it!

Highly recommend this place great service and very friendly staff. Very convenient having a kitchenette in the room.

Yelp
I stayed here a full week, I would rate this 3/5 stars. The pros It is close to Metro subway train station, relatively safe part of town. You can rent bicycles nearby or walk to National Mall, Museums, NASA building across the street (West Wing visitor entrance). etc. Safeway is 0.4 miles down the road, some sketchy people hang out there, free delivery to your room. They serve a decent hot breakfast, the rooms have a full kitchen (2 stove tops, microwave, full size refrigerator with freezer), pots, pans, cutlery, cups, plates. WiFi worked Ample storage for clothes, kitchen cabinets. Souvenir shop in lobby, some good items, at same price as museums and stores. The cons. Due to numerous room issues, was moved to another room on 9th floor, wheelchair accessible, comes with patio door (nice) The front desk staff was generally rude, unfriendly, and unpleasant with my family members. I also dread calling front desk or going down to ask for something,, but sometimes you can't avoid it due to room issues. Staff in kitchen was also rude and obnoxious. At times you will not find plates, metal cutlery on weekends during rush hour 7.30-8.30am.you will find plastic cutlery. At times all the coffee stations will be out, or plastic cups will be empty, without proactively being refilled. House keeping comes around 2pm, some will ask what you want done, just do your jobs (empty garbage, collect dirty towels, replace new towels, clean bathroom, fix bed linen). They come every other day, not everyday. Some room safes are unlock-able (no motor). Shower mixer valve was not working properly. The shower head was not screwed on right, water stream hitting wall paper, could cause mold, and structural issue with sheet rock. Toaster quit working after 1 use. Inconsistent kitchen utensil (no can opener), no strainer, no pitcher, from room to room. Stains on ceiling, could be mold. Kitchen cabinets have not been wiped, they are greasy to the touch. Not all elevator card readers work. Giant water bug found on floor in front of elevator lobby. Carpets have not been vacuumed at all in the hallways, bedrooms, or living areas. Frankly disgusting. Guests bring in pet dogs, that may urinate on corners, walk-on carpets with dirty feet. Don't walk with bare feet anywhere, it is not clean. Health department should check this place. Refilling. You can hear emergency vehicle sirens throughout the evening, get a high floor, 9 or higher, if you are staying here. This place needs a good deep clean. Mediocre at best, 3/5

Yelp
Don't book this hotel - we were told there was an "emergency " at the hotel and we needed to be relocated. Didn't see any apparent emergency. A family of four was checking in next to us and wasn't turned away. We had a conference around the corner and required several trips back and forth so something close by was a necessity. We were told - rudely by the front office manager - Julie Almonte- that our choice was to stay 4.5 miles away in an undesirable location or nothing. Underwent that 4.5 away in DC via NY ave is more than a 30 minute Uber ride. Even though we found on our app that the JW Marriott had rooms - she said they didn't and that she had called. We were asked to leave and we said no - because we wanted her to book us a room close by. Next thing you know - she called security and the police. Mind you I am a 58 year executive - not a kid. Clearly Marriott does not take care of their customers. If you look at reviews - we now see this is standard practice when they overbook. They "relocate " guests with only one night. Never again. Hilton will be my brand choice

Yelp
I stayed here for about two weeks. Although the rooms are spacious as with most Residence Inns, the location of this one sucks. Sure, it's close to the National Mall, but you pretty much have to Uber or take a half-mile walk to the nearest metro to get anything to eat. The breakfast buffet is about as decent as one can expect. Depending on who was working reception, the staff was either really friendly or else rude. The breakfast staff was always pleasant, however. The gym isn't bad. Also what you'd expect, having your basic needs. The pool was closed as of this review.

Julie V.

Yelp
The WORST customer service, I have ever received in my entire 58 years of life. Julie Almonte, the front office manager was unprofessional, rude and nasty when trying to relocate me to a sister property on New York Ave. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL!!! We were lied to and they called the police because I was not happy with the "relocation" they offered. It was "take it or leave it, we don't care". I had to find my own hotel nearby close to my conference. Julie did not even try to get me in a hotel nearby, lying to me that the JWMarriot had no availability, yet when I called the JW, they indeed had availability. No one should be treated this way...EVER!

Yelp
Residence Inn Washington, DC National Mall- Manager Deidra Davis- Nothing but problems in this hotel. We had two rooms for two weeks. A FULL week with a broken AC unit. Safes broken. Parties to all hours of the night. Rooms run down. Unfriendly staff, management literally yelling at people about service animals. And General manager, when you contact them- no response. Literally we stay in a hotel 1/3 of the year. This was BY FAR the worst hotel experience by Marriott and worst management we've encountered.

Jessie M.

Yelp
I have stayed a this hotel on numerous occasions.:: This is by far the worst for front desk hospitality. Jazmin has zero personality!! Sorry Tonya the most pleasant during the day!!! Nighttime staff delightful!

John C.

Yelp
Good service, good food good shop all good BUT you might be wondering why I did TWO STARS because THERE WAS A TURD IN THE POOL!!!!! IF YOU SWIM LOOK FOR TURDS just a heads up have fun!

Yelp
So I'm usually a Hilton kinda guy, but work booked us here. I was pleasantly surprised. When you first walk in the lobby is nothing to get excited about. We go checked into our room. Which had a kinda funny smell which I believe is because the A/C has a motion sensor on it so if nobody is in the room it shuts off. The air seamed stale like it hadn't been in for a while. Once we got it cranked it worked well. After a day in the room I was able to bypass the sensor (youtube it). The hotel is a little older but I wouldn't say outdated. It worked for everything we needed and it was great having a kitchenette in the room. The employees were always very nice and helpful. It was great that I'd has an indoor pool, spa, and gym. I did use the gym, not too shabby for a hotel gym. I would definitely stay here again. The location isn't too far from the Capitol, and that National Mall. It is also only a couple blocks away from the Air and Space Museum.

Yelp
Before I wrote my review, I read the review of others because maybe I was over exaggerating, but the other reviews confirmed I wasn't. First issue, the front desk staff is rude and unpleasant. I dread going down to ask for anything, but somethings I can't avoid. I travel a lot. I'm Platinum Elite with the Bonvoy Program. I am scheduled to be at this hotel for four months. I'm only on week 3 and don't think I will make it. My issues consist of necessity items in the room not working, telephone and water. Staff entering my room after 2pm without knocking. I have stayed in 3 different rooms since checking in 3 weeks ago. All on different floors. My opinion, if you are staying for the weekend or a short trip, then take your chances. If you are staying for a long haul, pick a different hotel with a kitchenette.
google avatar

Yelp
Comfortable priced reasonably in a central location near the National Mall and Museums. Through in a free breakfast and you have the recipe for a very pleasant stay. Room was clean and liked the small kitchen with full size fridge. The entire staff made us feel welcome. The breakfast selection had something for everyone and changes from day to day. My understanding is that in a few weeks they will begin renovations to up date the rooms. This will be my go to hotel in DC. Can't wait to see the renovations. The renovations are fantastic. Clean new look, same delicious breakfast and evening snacks. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Still my favorite place to stay in DC.
google avatar

Krista G.

Yelp
Still serving breakfast to go. Staff is hit and miss. I had some wonderful front desk admin, and two that just weren't pleasant- in that industry I feel the front desk should always be pleasant no matter what!! Room was nice, full kitchenette. Was on second floor, had to run water in tub for several mins to get hot water...it seem to come just before I called the desk.

Yelp
I was at this hotel for a month. I thought the hotel and security staff were very nice. Because of covid protection measures, breakfast was a "grab and go" lunch bag that contained a granola bar and an egg sandwich. I didn't much like the egg sandwich. The staff took adequate precautions to ensure everyone's health and safety. I didn't look at the pool because it was closed for the pandemic. The gym was decent. I ran on the treadmill once. The National Mall is close by so it was an easy place to go to for running and walking. The closest grocery store is Safeway on 4th. It's about a 10 minute walk. Its not the best of grocery stories but its better than nothing. All the restaurants around this hotel are closed on weekends including the Starbucks near Federal Center SW Metro (the closet metro stop). The best restaurant for lunch that is nearby is the Atrium.

Julie S.

Yelp
Our family of 4 stayed here while on a short vacation. It is in a safe and secure area and a short walk from the Capitol end of the Mall. The front desk staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a great selection and well maintained for the crowd. Elevators were quick. I loved being able to do laundry on site. Our room was on the 4th floor and not on the street side, so very quiet. Our teenagers loved the novelty of the market downstairs. I would definitely recommend, especially for families!

Yelp
I'm going to preface this review by saying I'm a road warrior and spend many nights in Marriotts and have Platinum Elite status with the Bonvoy program. I love Marriott brands and spent a consideRable amount of time choosing which hotel my son and I were going to stay in while in the DC area for our mini getaway. I chose this one due to the location and the amenities. It was a tad more expensive compared to others in the area due to the proximity to local attractions but I felt like it was worth it since I wasn't renting a car or having to pay for parking. The front staff was rude when we check inn. Hit number one. This usually isn't the case from my general experience with Marriotts so I let it roll. We got the room and it was a typical room for a residence inn. Nothing special. However, I had requested extra towels and wash clothes and they were not in my room. Also, my mobile key wasn't working. Then, I washed my face and the sink drain wasn't draining. I was so exhausted from my traveL day I didn't even care. I woke up the next morning and went to take a shower and the shower spout wasn't working eIther. I had to play with the faucet to get the water to run right. Then! I went to use the shower gel (they have the huge eco friendly bottles) and it was empty. UGH. No bottles of water in the room either. This is NOT the quality of Marriott I am come to know. I sent the front desk a message and it took them an hour to get back to me. Sadly, I would advise to chose another hotel in the area. The location is great but too many annoying things about this place. And the area itself is kinda dead. Don't bother! Stay at the Marriott itself.

Tammy B.

Yelp
The staff was wonderful and tried to correct challenges. The AC was not working properly. Finally someone came to check it out, and it looked like the filter had not been cleaned in over a year. The fold out bed the mattress the springs were coming through they brought in a new mattress, if you have anybody that needs to sleep on that, forget it most uncomfortable thing ever the carpet is shredding the breakfast while the staff tried to keep up was cold and consistently out. I paid a lot of money to stay there and will never do that again.

Brittany L.

Yelp
Spacious and clean room. Matthew at the front desk was so nice and gave some recommendations. Bus stop and metro stop are right around the corner. Short walk to the Smithsonian. Nice clean area of town and convenient if you're sightseeing. Good selection for breakfast.

Sneha M.

Yelp
Very bad experience. They double charged my card. They said that I had 2 different reservation which were booked in advanced. When I checked in they checked me in for the one room and no showed me for the other. I wonder how that happened when they were both in my name with same check in and check out days!!Now I have been on phone with them since morning and keep getting the run around. Very frustrating! Please be aware. Would not expect this from a Marriott brand!

Yelp
Not a bad hotel at all but if you've stayed at several other Residence Inns, this one might fall a little short compared to others. There's nothing around this building on the weekends. That means I had to walk at least a mile to get some decent food that wasn't just McDonalds. Even Starbucks, Potbelly and CVS were closed on a Sunday. During the weekdays, however, there's about 8 or so food trucks outside during lunch time which made up for the weekend food desert. The rooms were incredibly homey and made you want to just curl up in the nice warm bed and forget that they sell a 6 pack of Bluemoon for $15 in the gift shop. They have a "social hour" Moday thru Wednesday, but sans alcohol unlike the other Residence Inns. So...yeah...I guess people still talk to each other without a beer in hand. Also, I decided to go their social gathering on dessert night because I wanted a brownie. I was talking to a co-worker when they shut the lights off on us because the "event" ended right at 7:30. Kinda weird they didn't just let us sit there and let us finish our dessert at least but I get that we got there a bit late. The gym seemed to be pretty neglected. Out of the 7 days I was there, it seemed like they only restocked the towels once and there were no cups for the water cooler machine. The lobby restroom was also pretty nasty.

Chrissy F.

Yelp
Our stay was great! It was just the two of us, so the room was really spacious. The breakfast was pretty good for hotel breakfast. The location was great. Close enough to walk or take a short Uber to and from the National mall. We didn't make it to the pool, but they do have one.

Yelp
I'm very disappointed with my stay. I had a hard time trying to rate this hotel because the room was nice and it was perfectly located for my travels to VA and MD. But the employees just made this a really unpleasant experience. Rude from the check in process, rude with the grab and go breakfast. Really it was an ask and go. You couldn't just grab what you needed they asked your room and would only allow 1 sandwich per guest. I wanted 2 since when do I live in a 3rd world communist country that you are rationing food?! Then I asked about checking out early and I was given attitude and told it would ha d to be approved, by who and why? I was checking out 2 hours before checkout. When told it was ok I was then asked rudely how fast I would be out and for keys. Just not pleasant at all. Oh and the coffee another rationing and asking why I'm asking for so much. Like give me the coffee already.

Yelp
I came to DC with a family of 5. We reserved a 1 bedroom suite and it was plenty of room for us. Our 3 relatively small children slept on the pullout sofa. We did not make use of the kitchen although it was well stocked. The one bedroom has 1 1/2 bathrooms which was a great plus for us. The room was very clean, everything worked, and the furnishings were all well maintained. The location is ideal, just a few minute walk to the metro station. There are a few small places to eat on the block but they close very early. We were looking for dinner at 6 pm on a Saturday and there was literally no place open around. This isn't a knock on the hotel, just a heads up for those heading to town. The breakfast is well stocked, there was eggs, turkey sausage, a waffle station, a selection of bagels and toast, and pretty good oatmeal. There was no wait when we got down there around 8 am and there was tons of seating. I would not hesitate to come back here. Parking is expensive, but come on it's DC parking is unreal everywhere here.

Yelp
This is the worst hotel you could possibly stay at in DC. I stayed here for a few days and it was a lowlight of my trip. The rooms are absolutely filthy. I found multiple bugs throughout my stay and saw a large roach in the elevator. The staff is rude and lazy. They are barely willing to help out with simple requests and I found a lot of their comments to me to be racially charged. I would not recommend working with them at any point in the future. The location is poor. There are so many better neighborhoods in DC. I would stay away from this area in general not just because of this hotel. Overall - don't waste your money at this awful hotel!

Yelp
I spent 3 nights here and I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed staying here. It all started when I was greeted by Lynn. Big smile and happy to welcome me into this place. She got us a nice room in the 6th floor with a kitchenette and all the amenities that a place like this has. We immediately unpacked and walked to the National Zaire and Space museum, which was within a 10 min walk. To our surprise they have a decent store just besides the front lobby. You can find here from drinks, milk, food, and souvenirs! Lots of things here to get if you forgot something! The pool was warm and clean. Fitness center was same way! And one of the breakfast that I have seen than any other hotel that offers it for free. Ranging from fruit, yogurts, scrambled eggs (with flour tortillas!), a veggies crumble that was delicious, cinnamon rolls, DIY pancakes, different flavors of juices.... in a big buffet area that accommodates plenty of people. Rush breakfast hour was packed, but you could get what you wanted very quickly! And the waitresses always looking after you, grabbing the empty plates and keeping tables clean. Something that impressed me is her attention to details. I grabbed a coffee in a paper cup without the protection sleeve. Loida (one of the waitresses) noticed it and realized that there were no more in the coffee area. She took out more and gave me one so I did not get burned. Impressed! The only thing I did not use was parking. It is expensive and you can park your car in a garage just besides this place. The caveat is that it is available 24/7, while you have to check the hours on the others as they normally close at night. If we come back, we are definitely staying here again!

Yelp
This was the perfect vacation! Everyone at the Residence Inn was welcoming and hospitable. Their complimentary breakfast was excellent and the dining room attendants always offering a cheery "good morning". The room was nicely appointed. We had a room facing South. It was pretty quiet. I notice the rooms facing the north seemed noisy but some had a view of the Capitol if you have a high floor. The beds were very comfortable. I took away a star due to the coin operated laundry room was expensive and only half of the machines were "out of order". There was a line to use the machines. The indoor pool was small and very loud. The exercise room was adequate but honestly if you're on vacation you'll be doing a lot of walking! The sofa table in the living room and dining table had sharp edges and both my daughter and myself cut our toes on the sharp edges. The location is perfect. The Residence Inn is less than 100 yards from the metro and two major city blocks away from the Nation's Capitol and National Mall. There is a CVS about a 10 minute walk from the RI. The RI also has grocery delivery service available. The room has a kitchenette. We used a combination of the metro and Uber to get around DC. I would definitely stay at this RI again. Thank you to the staff of the Residence Inn for your graciousness!

Yelp
Great location for visitors. Located very close to the US Capitol and within easy walking distance from the main swath of Smithsonians on the mall. Now if you're wanting to visit the White House or anything in that vicinity, you might want to uber unless the weather is nice and you don't mind a decent hike. I'll admit that Residence Inns are one of my favorite non premium hotel brands, especially in the last 10-12 years. They tend to punch above their weight class and the most recent remodel designs tend to be downright amazing. The lobby at this location is very nicely updated but to be honest, the rooms are on the brink of needing a remodel. The rooms appear to be from the previous design generation and are showing their age. That's not to say there is anything wrong with them, my room was very clean, comfortable and well kept. It's just at some point before a refresh, hotel rooms show their age. Again, I'm comparing this room to more recently refreshed Residences and not to a Motel 6 that need refreshing. This is still worthy of 4 stars. One of the other selling points that Residence Inns have for me is a typically pretty solid breakfast. With Covid, this location offers a bagged breakfast that included a breakfast sandwich, water, yogurt, fruit and granola bar. Very good. Bottom line. This is a great location for visitors to the city or anyone needing to stay in that area.

Yelp
This location is unprofessional, I had to stand at the desk and wait quite a while for Someone to even tend to the desk. They were in the back and there was no one to greet or help me check in

Yelp
Checked in at 11am, told us the room was going to be ready at 4. It's now 5pm and the manager (who's apparently the only manager) has not a clue when our room will be ready ALTHOUGH they had said 4pm six hours ago and is unable to provide any room in the meantime nor can they set us up in a different Marriott. Customer service here blows to say the least. Would go somewhere where the staff gives a damn about customer satisfaction aka not here.

Yelp
Long list! Missed you cockroach! Website still shows pool.. no mention of it being closed. Only reason I booked this hotel was because of pool. Hot water goes down for several hours on a holiday. When we woke up, no more water. No proper intimation of such maintenance. Utensils for 2 people. Had to keep washing them. Dishwasher error and limited dishwashing detergent enough for one wash. Limited housekeeping help - had to go downstairs to grab stuff. Limited coffee pods in the room. Had to go downstairs to get more. Cold and horrible grab n go breakfast. 3 towels in a 6 person room. Front reception kept on saying - you are checking out tomorrow, why so much fuss! Very unfriendly staff - won't even greet while checking out

Yelp
My husband and I are currently staying at this hotel, and we LOVE it. Everything is perfect, everyone has been super friendly and helpful. A lot of Google's reviews were complaining that the place is "dated," but we find it charming (what hotel DOESN'T have ridiculously loud carpeting?) and the rooms are actually fairly modern - and super clean and spacious. I love that we have a full kitchen with dishes, silverware, and a Keurig. The housekeeper is great about restocking coffee every morning. There was only one tiny bottle each of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion when we checked in, but the next morning the housekeeper must have noticed we went through nearly all of it because when we returned from sight-seeing there were two bottles of each, and have been every afternoon since. The housekeeper's in for a nice tip! This hotel is about 4 blocks from the National Mall, and the Federal Metro station is right around the corner along with a few cafes and a Starbucks. The Air and Space Museum is a ten minute walk from the hotel, so yesterday we didn't even bother buying Metro day passes. Side note: a Metro day pass is $15 - stay here, DON'T rent a car (parking here is $40 per day and driving would be a little intense), plus you get a better experience of the city by walking, if you're able) and pretty much everything is free - Smithsonian museums, monuments, memorials, etc. The gym is great, hasn't been crowded - the hot tub and pool are great, the hot breakfast has been AWESOME, many options including biscuits and gravy and a waffle bar (!) - AND there is a small gift shop/market by the front desk OPEN 24/7 that has everything from snacks and drinks to beer, wine, and a pharmacy. ...We booked in advance and paid $119 a night - SO worth it. I wanna call my boss and dog-sitter and say, "I'm so sorry - we need to stay just a couple more days!" Lastly, this area has felt so safe to us, and being here just before tourist season (March-September?) the streets and hotel aren't too overcrowded. I'd give the hotel another star if I could.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this hotel. I was here on an extended stay and here is what I thought... Here are the PROS: Location is close to L'Enfant Plaza station (4 blks) and Federal Center SW station (2 blks). Close to Safeway for groceries (4 blks)--the hotel offers free grocery delivery so you don't have to do the heavy lifting (you only get charged for the cost of groceries)--all you have to do is give them a list and turn it into the front desk by 9am Free wireless internet Across the street from a dry cleaners Fully stocked kitchen (include stove top, microwave, full size refrigerator, and dish washer) Offers hot breakfast everyday--weekdays (630a-930a) and weekends (7a-10a) Offers evening socials Monday through Wed (aka free dinners!)--600p-730p Laundry on the 2nd floor ($1.00 to wash/ $1.00 to dry) Little convenience store in the lobby for anything you may have forgotten to pack Cable TV with lots of popular television stations Across the street from a cafe Next to a pizzeria and another cafe Fitness center and pool Thermostat is inside the room to control the temperature to your liking No problems with bed bugs--hotel was very clean The staff here was really nice. I spoke with Shereema and she helped me to switch rooms when I told her the train was too noisy. Switching rooms definitely helped reduce the noise. The CONS: The hotel is located next to the Amtrak and Virginia Railway Express train tracks. I would occasionally hear a train going through and could feel the building shake. The sound from the trains was relatively noisy. I recommend requesting a room that faces E street to avoid the noise. I was told by the front desk staff that the studio rooms are more quiet.

Yelp
Hot water is spotty, staff is not always friendly, or inviting. They do have a nice breakfast and they are close to the Capitol.

Yelp
Location: The hotel was conveniently located near Capital Hill, Library of Congress and within walking distance to the National Mall and the White Hous Food: When I went this hotel served complimentary breakfast everyday. They had eggs, hash browns and cereal. In addition, from monday to wednesday, they had happy hour from 5 to 7. Depending on the type of eater you are, it could be your dinner. Room: I stayed there for 5 nights. The room was spacious. The room had a kitchen and dining room table. Staff: The staff was nice and friendly. Amenities: They have a small gym and pool. The pool was always full of little kids. They also have a whirlpool. Food: Due to the fact this hotel is near capital hill, on the weekends or holidays when the government is closed. all the food places shut down. I stayed here during a holiday and had to travel a bit to get food. I recommend this hotel especially if you are going during a weekday.

Yelp
6 stars. I could stop right there. This hotel, located near the Capitol (a 10 minute slow walk) and a block from the Metro, did not fail to impress, in terms of location, staff or amenities. From the moment I arrived, Kim at the front desk was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable of all things hotel and all things DC. Not only did she take the time to answer all of my questions, she offered suggestions on where to go during my stay. She was so wonderful that I even extended my stay at the hotel by one day because customer service is key, and she definitely delivered. The one bedroom suite they upgraded me to was very spacious, complete with a kitchen area, a separate bedroom area and a small bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, as most Marriott beds are, and the floor was very quiet; I didn't hear any doors slamming or anything. The area felt very safe and the fact that you need your keycard to enter at night and to use the elevators at all times was a very nice security feature. One hint if you're staying over the weekend, if you have a vehicle, try parking on E street to avoid the parking fees, but read the signs! Will I be back? Absolutely!

Yelp
As a military family we always enjoy traveling, seeing new places, and meeting up with old friends. Because of the size of our family (5) and the need for privacy, we reserved a larger suite at this hotel. We then offered our larger space for games and hanging out once we met up with our friends... So after about 6 hours of traveling with a toddler we arrived 4 hours AFTER you are able to check in believing that we were going to our reserved room to unwind. We were knowingly put into a smaller suite that we realized once we entered the room, so we went back to the front desk to inform them of their "mistake." We showed our reservation as proof of what we type of room we should have, the receptionist pointed out that the bed count was the same, while completely ignoring the fact that we were minus both 1 additional room and 1 bathroom. We were asked to wait in the wrong room for about 20 minutes while they sorted things out, but after more than an hour of no contact we went back downstairs. While waiting more time for this to be sorted out, I noticed similar complaints from other guests having to wait for their reserved rooms to be available. After being given the run around, and told that there were no rooms or upgrades available WE had to suggest compensation for an issue they created! I enjoyed the time spent with loved ones, but needless to say the room, the staff, and the minimal effort put into rectifying their mistake was not the highlight of our stay in D.C. Next time we, and the 2 other families we suggested this place to, will stay somewhere else.

Yelp
This is going to be the second day in a row where I'm going to have to ask for more coffee for the in-room coffee maker. why are they so against coffee? I had to call about housekeeping not replacing the coffee yesterday. Im on day 3 and still the same issue.

Yelp
Great Hotel! The staff were awesome, check-in was seamless, room was clean and always freshened you when I returned from the day. Was here for a stay during a Tuesday night and it was an awesome Managers Night! Complimentary food and beverages. Had a great stay.

Yelp
Lock on the room door opened only sporadically. Toilet paper not made to fit on the dispenser. Received no maid service. Front desk staff was harried and annoyed when I pointed this out and when I asked if I could at least get some clean towels and more soap.

Yelp
Loved our stay here! Our room was very spacious. It was just hubby and me and we really appreciated the space. We usually travel with our two kids and it would have been just fine for four of us. Loved the kitchen/living room area! There was a small stovetop - so cool. We didn't get to use it, but great that it was there. :D We stayed Fri and Sat nights. The place was quiet. On Sun morning, a family with at least two kids moved in to the room next door and man were they having a blast in there - we could here them! The comp breakfast in the morning was great - typical Res Inn breakfast with waffles and pancakes. The sitting area was spacious - plenty of seats for all. Liked having the TVs.

Yelp
12 years ago when I first started having to stay for extended periods in Washington, DC, I thought the Marriott Residence was top drawer. A kitchen! A bedroom seperate from the sitting room! Breakfast served downstairs! It was awesome, and it was kind of new so it had that shine on it. It was still a hotel, but staying for a month at the Residence was vastly better than staying for a month in one room with a big bed in it. Flash forward and things are getting a little thread bare. It's still roomy, but there are some stains on the carpet, a little funk hanging in the air, not as many throw pillows (I guess they wore out and were not replaced). Even breakfast looks like it has had better days, although I appreciate the ability to make a peanut butter sammie and take a banana and yogurt for my lunch. And the coffee is good. The coffee is always good. Staff are still great. They work hard and are friendly. But that feeling of faded beauty is omnipresent when I'm in the hotel, and I can't help but remember what it was like when it was shiny and new.
