Residence la Gancia

We stayed two nights in Trapani at Residence La Gancia. It is located right at Piazza Merato del Pesce and our GPS had a little bit of trouble finding the place, but once we got there, we were able to pull up into the Piazza and unload our car to check in. There is street parking all along the one way road Lungomare Dante Alighieri (leading away from the hotel) and we were always able to find parking close by. The hotel is beautiful and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room and bathroom were large and very comfortable. There is a big rooftop deck where the great breakfast is served. By late afternoon there is staff on the deck so you can order a beverage if you would like, while enjoying the beautiful view of the ocean. Outside the front doors, it is just steps to the left to walk along the city ramparts, or a few steps to the right are the steps down to the beach. And in behind the hotel is the old town of Trapani, with lots of restaurants. I would definitely recommend Residence La Gancia.

Very nice hotel, perfect location in the older part of town. The staff was so helpful and kind and the rooftop breakfast/bar (in the evening) has a stunning view! The only minus was that it said "free parking" on booking.com and there was no free parking but they helped us find one that cost 8 euro/day which was fine. So just something i be aware off!

I wouldn’t say it’s a 4-star hotel, more a 3-star. It’s got a nice character. Good size rooms. Surprisingly there’s a gym in the hotel but it’s in a very dark and enclosed space. Breakfast is on the rooftop with a really good view. Beware of birds and seagulls as they will snatch from your breakfast plate!

This hotel offers a rooftop bar, phenomenal views of the ex mercato del pesce and the sea. The establishment was once a convent that has been converted to a hotel. Excellent staff and great location

This place was wonderful. The rooms were good size and comfortable, and breakfast on the terrace was lovely. It was a pleasant stay and the value was great. I would recommend to anyone. The view from the room was also amazing.

Everything about my stay was first class, but I will focus on a few aspects which I feel really make a stay at Residence La Gancia worthwhile. ||First, the staff. I felt welcomed from the moment I stepped in the building. Everything I needed to know about the hotel was explained to me on arrival, and no request felt too much trouble. The team are very knowledgeable about the local area and booked me a taxi to Erice as the funicular was closed. ||The rooms are spacious, and my huge king sized bed was really comfortable. My room also had a small fridge containing a number of complimentary drinks, such as bottled water, fruit juices and bottles of Peroni. The bathroom was also spotlessly clean. I like to sleep in complete darkness, so the thick curtains were great because they blocked out the majority of natural light.||Finally, the roof terrace. The sea views are immaculate; it really is a great place to watch the sunset. The roof terrace bar is only open in the summer months, but it didn’t matter for me as I could enjoy a beer from my room on the terrace. Because the hotel is so small, the roof terrace was always quiet during my stay. ||Breakfast is also served on the roof terrace. The breakfast spread exceeded expectations. I normally expect continental options when I am in the Mediterranean, but bacon and scrambled egg were also available, which was a plus. The two ladies serving breakfast always had a smile on their face and were quick to top up my coffee without me even asking.||Thank you to the team at Residence La Gancia for a wonderful stay.

We are annual visitors to La Gancia and it is always such a great pleasure to return. It is such a beautiful residence in perfect position with rooms and apartments with spectacular views over the ocean. Sunrises and sunsets are truly spectacular. Breakfast at La Gancia is absolutely excellent with a superb array of fruits, breads, frittata, cheese , cold meats, a small selection of hot food and some absolutely wonderful Sicilian sweet offerings. The staff here deserve a special mention. They are truly wonderful. nothing is too much trouble. They are so welcoming and helpful with superb knowledge of the local area to help all tourists. Cant wait for our next visit.

Good hotel in a very good location for both the beach and the old town. Public parking is expensive at €1.50 an hour between 08:00 and midnight and spaces are scarce at times.

Great location with beautiful views from the breakfast room/cocktail bar. Room was beautiful with ocean view. Staff couldn't have been better. Not the biggest breakfast buffet of our trip but there were plenty of choices, no complaints. Parking is a bit of a walk but was inexpensive. We had a wonderful stay here.

Great hosts, always went above and beyond to help out in any way possible. I've already booked my next stay here because of the customer service alone. The rooms are great, the location is perfect. Everyone has made my trip there perfect and i couldn't ask anything better. Thank you.
