Residencial Dona Maria Parreirinha - Sintra

The room was nicely decorated, clean and had a private bathroom. Staff is very friendly. No noise from the street, only some guests being loud when checking in/out. Located at walking distance to the town centre, but in a quiet area. Windows (incl. bathroom) face the street directly, so better not leave them open while you're out and close the curtains when you're in. A few parking spots nearby. Not cheap, but in line with Sintra prices.

Very convenient to train depot. We went to Sintra for the castle tour and this fit us perfectly. (After several days in Lisbon, this was a peaceful relaxing break.) The shuttle buses for the three castle tours stop just in front of train depot. Very friendly owner. Seems like an almost new facility. Breakfast was served just up the street. Bed was comfortable. TV was small and not a flat screen, but we weren't there to stay in the room and watch TV.

The Casa de Hospedes is very well located, near Sintra's train station, which is perfect if you want to make a day trip to Lisbon (40 minutes, less than 2 euros). The hotel is also quite clean and the rooms, although being pretty simple, were comfortable and functional. Notice that there is no air conditioning, so it can be pretty hot during summer. The owners are very helpful and nice and make big efforts to understand you even if you don't speak a word of Portuguese. Most of all, the price was very good value.

Arrived late afternoon, went to few establishment, expensive. Found C de HDMP, not very well advertised. Welcomed at the front desk, not much English spoken, but then you are in a foreign country !! Shown a lovely room on the first floor, room and bathroom had balconies looking onto the street !! Room comfortable, clean and fair size. Got ice from reception to cool our wine. Free parking in the back, even let us park until we got back from a visit to one of the castles the next day.

The staff was super kind, we paid around 70€ the night for two persons. The room was nice, they have a kettle to boil water. And the location is amazing, very near to the train station

We picked this place as we were arriving by train and the location is perfect, literally one row behind and higher than the end of the station. Are arrival was earlier than official check in but we're greeted well and given our room. ||The whole place is very clean and we had clean daily towels. Our room was in the rear overlooking the courtyard and view up towards the Moorish fort. ||I don't think that any rooms in the property would be disturbed by train noise as the railway ends at this station so only slow moving trains arrive and depart and there is another row of properties between this property and the station.||The price we paid was very reasonable and we had no complaints. Breakfast was not included but we would advise going to the cafe opposite the main station building which is where all the locals go and we had great coffee, pastries etc for 2 of us for €6 nothing was more than a €1 and the staff are very helpful (free wifi too) ||Our only criticism would be the weather and that was not in anyone's control as it was a bit stormy and the wind howled along the corridors rattling the doors and windows a bit. ||

This is a nice location and a great price. However, the shower was the worst I have seen - mold growing all over which of course makes one question the overall cleanliness of the place. The bed was also pretty unpleasant. The mattress was very old with springs broken and generally pretty painful to sleep on. I would not recommend it. Even if you are strapped for cash there have to be better budget options available. I'm shocked that it was listed in two popular guide books.

Lovely, very comfortable hotel. Some rooms have beautiful views of the castle of the Moors. Very comfortable rooms with a good free Wi-Fi. ery friendly staff speaking English. Nearby are many restaurants and train station.
