This place is nice and clean. The room has internet access, cable TV, and a clean bathroom. The receptionist was kind. The price is affordable. The only thing I didn't like was the music coming from the street. It seems like there is a party in the neighborhood every single night. The music kept me from sleeping. On weekdays they play music until 11 or 12 p.m. The weekend the music was on until 3 a.m. plus the cars honking, and the motorcycles' noises were too loud. Besides the music at night time, the apartment is fine and calm during the days

With the cheap price I was cautious of this place however everything was great. I was greeted on the street as soon as I got out the taxi and check in was very smooth. I paid dollars and the price remained the same as when I had booked it six months ago. The staff were great and printed out a map for me and told me local events to visit on differnt days. The colonial zone is pretty safe with civil gaurds on most corners at night that would accompany you to wherever you needed to go if you asked them to. The hotel itself was very clean with fairly updated facilities and the shower was always warm. The cleaner came in every other day at around 4 in the afternoon. The bed was comfortable and I considered stealing a pillow as they were so nice. Unfortunately the aircon was weaker than I would have liked but there was also a cealing fan to help keep you cool so it didn't matter to much. The cost of ac was 12 peso per hour and they take a photo of the meter before you enter and after you leave to work out the price which really isn't too bad at all. There was a fully working fridge supplied with one bottle of water when I got there to see you through to the next day when you can go shopping yourself. The place was very secure with an electrical lock needed to enter the building, a gated to enter each floor and a house key aswell as a security box for your passport. While the view from the room was far from spectacular the view from the beautiful roof terrace gave you a real feel for the colonial zone. As a female solo traveler that speaks no Spanish I was pretty anxious but staying here really put my mind at ease and for such a great price I would 100% book again if I come back to the dominican republic.

I wanted a nice, safe, clean, and centrally located place to stay and that is exactly what I received. Located on the street (Calle Las Mercedes) that runs parallel to the "Calle El Conde" (pedestrian street) located in the smack dab middle of the Colonial Zone. The manager is amazing and super helpful. Very attentive to her guest. My hotel room had 2 balconies and a full kitchen. I knew when I asked for a balcony that there would be the noise of the street factor so it wasn't an issue for me. If you want more quiet, ask for a room in the back of the hotel. There is a roof top lounge area that has a view of the Caribbean Sea and many parts of the city. Cameras at the door and front of the hotel for your protection. The front door is always locked. The street outside and area is very safe during the day. But like any city in the world be vigilant at night and use common sense. That goes for any place you stay in the city. My room had its own Wi Fi router and cable television. I highly recommend this hotel if you don't want the big expensive hotels.

This place is quite a gem. The front and the inside are kept nicely. It is refreshing to find a low price clean place in the area that is so welcoming and on point. One of the best features is that no one bothers you when going in and out of the place. The location is great and you get a lot for your money's worth. I look forward to returning and staying here again. In fact I stayed more than once during my recent travels throughout the country this time around. Yomaira is quite charming and very welcoming.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times now for extended days. Located right off the famous Calle El Conde in the center of the Zona Colonial. Full kitchen with large fridge. Balcony room or more quite room in the back. Roof top hang out area. A very attentive and honest manager. Safe, clean and convenient.

The hotel is located in the heart of the Colonial Zone, just a block from El Conde. Our room had a kitchen with a large refrigerator, stove top, and cooking utensils. The room was very clean and the linens and towels were very soft. There is a lovely rooftop terrace that offers a pleasant place to relax or have breakfast. The small grocery store (colmado) next door has basic grocery items, fresh-made sandwiches, ice, and ice cold beverages. What makes Residencial La Fonte really special is the receptionist, Yomaira. She promptly answered all of our questions via email prior to our arrival. When we arrived, she gave us a map and marked the main sights as well as supermarkets, restaurants, ATMs, etc. She made us feel really welcome and smoothed the way for a very nice first visit to Santo Domingo. I wish we could have stayed longer. Next time, we will.

The location is great if you don't want to rent a car. It is in the Colonial zone but in a local neighborhood as well. It seems like this place use to be in a apartment building converted into a hotel. Some of the apts have a kitchen to cook in. ||||This is not a luxurious hotel if that is what you expect... it is a clean , budget hotel if you need a place to rest your head at night. The front desk closes after a certain time so you must tell them when you plan on checking in. ||||The front desk lady and the maintenance man are both very nice people and will assist you with anything. We had one brief interaction with the owner who is not really a nice person.|||| We had company and maybe got a little loud ... instead of just asking to please our voices down a bit.. he yelled " Shhhhhhhh !!" It's not what you say but how you say it. This was kind of embarrassing to us and our company. He needs a little costumer service training but anyway..||||Like i said this is a budget , keyword : budget .. if you just plan on sleeping here.

Stayed with friends @ La Fonte for 5 days last week. We couldn't have a chosen a better place to stay. Just one block away from El Conde Street where all the shops and restaurants are situated.Receptionist very nice and helpful. Would recommend it to everyone.
