We booked this hotel for September 26, 2025, but on that exact day aggressive protests broke out all over Italy. All transportation was shut down — buses, trains, ports — and the Naples airport, where we were supposed to arrive, was completely closed. Traveling from Naples to Amalfi became absolutely impossible.
As soon as we learned about the situation, we immediately contacted both the hotel and Booking. We asked to reschedule our stay, and we were even willing to pay extra if needed. However, we were refused outright, without any alternatives or solutions offered. Both the hotel and Booking acknowledged that this was an extraordinary situation, yet despite that, neither a cancellation nor a date change was allowed. This is especially shocking considering that Booking’s own policies state that in such force majeure circumstances, guests are entitled to a refund or a date change. But in our case, this policy was simply ignored.
It felt as though the hotel had absolutely no regard for its guests. No support, no understanding, just complete indifference. It is extremely disappointing to see that at a moment when assistance is most needed, the hotel made no effort whatsoever to help. Situations like this reveal the true level of service — and unfortunately, the experience here was deeply negative.
We spent a long time choosing this hotel and planning our vacation, and we expected at least some level of flexibility or respect from the property. Instead, we were met with disregard, which left a very unpleasant impression. It is truly unfortunate that our trip was completely ruined due to such a lack of basic customer care.
