Residenza d'Epoca San Crispino

We recently stayed here and it was absolutely stunning. Situated perfectly within the old town of Assisi, everything was in close walking distance with an additional benefit of being relatively close to nearby car parking. The accommodation consisted of an apartment which was breathtakingly beautiful, neat, very clean and comfortable. The apartment comprised of historic furniture, old frescos on walls and roofing as well as lots of charming details. Our room also had an outdoor private courtyard with wonderful views and seating area. We felt very welcomed on arrival by the owner and he also shared lots of details of the building and provided great local recommendations for the area. This place was truly a gem and I would encourage anyone wanting to stay in Assisi to stay here.

A charming, very central and characterful building composed of several suites. Access was easy and tge rooms large and equipped with what is needed to enjoy your stay. Dante. Who appears to be available in person from early morning to early afternoon is super nice, helpful and knowledgable as you would expect. Highly recommend staying here. Dante even arranged for us to spend the day at the spa resort owned by the hotel. A serene place only 15 minutes drive. A stunning 12 metre pool which we had to ourselves.

This wonderful Residenza , San Crispino Historical Mansion, is strategically located in the quintessential Italian village. It is very close to the Moiano Underground parking structure for very easy access to your car, close to all the best restaurants and sites. The views are quite possibly the best to be had in the charming hillside town. The seven different apartments vary in layout and decor, with a few of them offering lovely private terraces, these of course, are my favorites. The two bedroom apartment has a very large terrace from which you get the most sensational views of the valley and the surrounding ancient village. Breakfast is served in a building directly across the narrow road. Service is very good and the accommodations are well kept and very clean. I highly recommend staying here and have stayed numerous times already in the past.

DON’T trust them.|DON’T believe them.|DON’T make reservations with them.|I made a reservation 1 year in advance, directly with Residenza d'Epoca San Crispino, because we wanted one specific room (Luna and Stella). I received a confirmation almost immediately. However, I did not receive any reply to emails sent over the next 9 months until the fourth email, at which point I was informed by an email from Maka Finance that we needed to make full payment THAT day for the Luna and Stella room, which was 2.5 months before our occupancy of the room. After first getting written reconfirmation that we would be getting the desired room (Luna and Stella), I did arrange to pay for our full stay that day, as requested. I was then sent confirmation of receiving full payment. Four days later, however, they emailed me saying that they had to change our room to a more expensive room for reasons that made no sense (i.e., “The Noise from an adjacent room will be disturbing them, due to different bedding type and the room positioning.”). After explaining several times to Maka Finance/Residenza d'Epoca San Crispino that we did not want any other room than the one we had reserved over 9 months ago and had just paid for in full, they said that we had two choices: “Its either we cancel the reservation and refund you your 1350$USD, or we will reserve the room that we explained to you that might not be suitable for you.” When I replied that we wanted the full refund of 1,350 $USD, their reply was that we would NOT get a full refund because “The management board had a brief meeting, and has decided that 60% of your money 810 USD is what will be refunded to you.” At this point, after neither being given the room that they promised us nor the full refund that they said we could get, I contacted our credit card company and asked them to refuse the payment that I had made 16 days earlier. The credit card company has given me a temporary credit while they await a response from Maka Finance/Residenza d'Epoca San Crispino.|

My husband and I stayed two nights in this beautiful hotel located in a perfect area - in the heart of Assisi but very quiet. The views are spectacular and Dante took very good care of us - from our check in/out to the wonderful breakfast in the morning. He makes divine espressos and cappuccinos also.

Awesome location and view, just meters from the Basilica of Santa Chiara, reasonable walking access to all of the primary sites of Assisi, restaurants and services; very comfortable accommodations; very helpful host - thank you, Dante! A generous and well-prepared included breakfast. We wish we could have stayed longer and there is absolutely no doubt we will return here! Most everything is within walking distance, but be prepared for lots of steps and inclines; many wonderful small, local restaurants; try to visit all of the churches in addition to the main Basilica of St. Francis - each has its own special history and attributes. Just outside the main city wall, on the road out of Assisi, within walking distance of our B&B, was a very good, well stocked general market.

A dreamy old-world experience. We were amazed by the unique and very large room and private green space. It truly made our visit to Assisi feel authentic and exceeded all of our expectations. The balcony, view and stairs leading down to the private yard were such a wonderful surprise. Restaurants, shopping and the basilicas were convenient to reach and allowed for a walk through the beautiful streets of Assisi. We will return to Assisi someday, and will return for a longer stay at San Crispino. Our one-night stay was far too short!

The pictures do not do this historic mansion justice! We were greeted by the property manager who walked us through our room, showed us the lovely gardens and made sure we knew how to reach him. Assisi is a quiet town and this beautiful place is very centrally located within the town. This is important as you'll be doing a LOT of walking! Our room included a very large sitting area which was also nice to have at the end of each day!
