Residenza di Ripetta

"How did it strike you on arrival? It’s the private garden, peppered with trees, that catches your eye first—drawing you towards a sleek, modern lobby with high ceilings, manned by smiling staff. The building itself is a former convent, and there are two marble ancient horse statues in the lobby, just to get you in the Roman holiday mood. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.Classic Doubles are light-hued and modern, with neutral furnishings, an oak wardrobe and matching drawers. The carpet could be a bit newer, and fabric on the bedhead could do with an update soon. But rooms are clean and comfortable—a rare commodity among some of Rome’s four-star hotels—and for the price it’s definitely good value. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down. The bath products are by Penhaligon’s from the U.K. Maybe the most important topic of all: Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Wi-Fi is free, but sketchy, so you’d be better off using the 3G on your phone. Room service: Worth it?At €13, the grilled turkey with steamed vegetables is a steal; we’d pair it with a side of fennel, orange and olive salad (€12). Staff: If you could award one a trophy, who gets it, and why?All the staff are wonderful, especially Vera, who is eternally cheerful and kind, keen to make your stay in Rome the best it can be. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? The air conditioning doesn’t always work, and the rooms tend to get quite warm, especially from April onwards. There’s no tea or coffee in the room, which is a shame, because you don’t always want to go down to the front desk for a caffeine fix. And, overall, the rooms could do with an update, especially given the bright new generation of hotels currently opening up around the city. Bottom line: worth it, and why?Residence di Ripetta is a decent four-star property, and while the design and decor is nothing to write home about, it does the job in providing a comfortable and clean place to stay." - Maresa Manara

Palazzo Ripetta is wonderful boutique 5-star hotel. The location is excellent, within walking distance to most sites and attractions. The staff we encountered, from reception, to concierge, to restaurant staff and bartenders, and bellmen were all very friendly and helpful. The staff was every engaging in conversation and greeted us by name when they saw us. The food and beverage was excellent. The rooms are immaculately clean, spacious and modern and the beds are very comfortable. They even have a pillow menu from which guests can chose from a variety of different pillows. This hotel has everything discerning guests could ask for in a boutique property. Highly recommended!

Our family had an absolutely fantastic stay at Palazzo Ripetta. The hotel is gorgeous. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. The location is terrific. The concierge helped us with reservations and tour ideas. Our kids are 8 and 10, and they were made to feel welcome and enjoyed the stay as much as we did. Can't recommend the Palazzo Ripetta enough for anyone coming to Rome.

Spent 2 days in this beautiful hotel. The check in was perfect, friendly; I had the feeling to be back even though it was my 1st stay. We booked only the standard room but I was impressed how spacious it was especially for a city hotel. Great location: 15 minutes walk from the Trevi fountain, 5 minutes from Piazza di Spagna and so much more. Thank you to the Assistant Front Office Manager who took good care of us at departure. I would definitely recommend this hotel 10000%. Thank you for the great experience, I’ll be back 😊🥰

Had a wonderful stay here on the third floor in a unique suite that came with a private sauna and steam shower in addition to the normal bathroom located one floor below. The room itself was spacious for 1-2 people with ample closet and drawer space and enough room for a King sized bed. The staff are very helpful and informative and the housekeeping (twice per day) was very attentive and also helpful. The location is prime - walking distance from most of the very popular and scenic spots including one thats just one block away, Piazza del Popolo. Great food and shopping just steps away and great food within the hotel itself with a fabulous breakfast buffet. Loved my stay here overall.

Fabulous stay at this boutique hotel in the heart of Rome. The location is fabulous - close to everything but on a quiet street away from the crowds. The inner courtyard is a little oasis in the heart of Rome! The rooms were spacious and very well appointed, and the beds were very comfortable! The staff was friendly and helpful! The hotel has everything you need for a lovely stay in the city! I will definitely be back!

We traveled with a small tour group to Italy, and this was the 3rd hotel (after stays in Venice and Florence). This by far was the best hotel experience with our group. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, from the sitting room off the lobby, to the lobby bar, to the relaxing outdoor patio. The rooftop bar is very peaceful with beautiful view of the surrounding city.||The rooms were spacious and the bathroom were well appointed. Loved the espresso machine.||The hotel is in a great location....very close to Popolo Square, and a short walk to the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Wonderful restaurants nearby as well.||Our only complaint was that they would not allow us to open a bottle of wine we had purchased and drink with friends at the outdoor patio or roof top bar. They said it was an ordinance and could not allow it. We offered to pay a corking fee, but it was a no go.||Other than that, our group agreed that this was a top of the line 5 star hotel, with attentive service throughout. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

For anyone considering hosting an event or dining at the restaurant in palazzo Ripetta, I recommend being cautious. The hotel itself is nice, and the manager, hosts, and hostesses were genuinely kind and professional, but my experience was negatively affected by one particular restaurant employee whose behavior was both disrespectful and unhygienic. I witnessed him verbally abusing another staff member, and I also saw him eating from the guests’ food with his bare hands, which is completely unacceptable in any hospitality setting. Although the rest of the staff were pleasant, this employee made my experience significantly worse, and it seems the San Baylon manager is unaware of his actions, likely because he has worked there for many years. I hope this matter would be taken into consideration
