Residenza di Via Piccardi

The place is well organized, and for winter times really warm inside.|The price is really competitive and includes even gluten-free breakfast.|Just the tourist tax was charged twice, one time with my credit card and a second time cash. I just didn't check my bill properly...|Anyway, I would prefer to open communicate, that the pricing is so tight, that 2€ has to be charged extra for gluten-free, which is still fair.

I stay there every year during June, there are no other place like this, in the heart of Gubbio, very clean, superb breakfast, Federica and her helper always goes out of there way to help you, nobody can beat the cost in or nearby Gubbio, I am looking forward to my stay in June 2025. The moment I walk in, I am at home, this is my home away from South Africa. With the transport at your door, I take day trips to Rome and towns around Gubbio, but every night I am at home.

I visit Gubbio every year for 3 weeks on my own, I never will think of staying anywhere else than at Residence Via Piccardi, Federica always make me feel at home, all is perfect, I see it as my summer home in Italy. The place is looked after, everything is clean, everyone is always availible for assistance in anything you ask, just a pleasure always staying there. Leon

We loved our stay at Residenza di Via Piccardi mostly because of the hospitality that Frederica provided. She was genuinely warm and welcoming, which we found especially wonderful as we waited for our checked luggage to arrive. The bag got delayed because of a close connection flight in Istanbul and only arrived several days after we landed in Italy. Frederica received the bag and carried it up to our second floor, no mean feat considering that it weight more than 20 kilos. She also volunteered to carry our luggage down to the ground floor when we departed, and offer that we declined.||||The room itself was large and comfortable. The mattress was firm and comfortable, and the sound of the nearby bell that marked the hour added to the atmosphere. ||||Note that the Residenza DOES have WIFI contrary to what the booking.com website says. Breakfast is continental, and the coffee is wonderful because a person makes it not an automatic machine. ||||We did get lost trying to find the Residenza because our GPS got confused thanks to all the stone buildings in Gubbio. FYI the easiest way there is to go past the Loggio, and turn right at the first street (the Via Piccardi). The gate to the hotel is not on the Via Piccardi but on the second cross street. The hotel’s location is excellent, close to the Roman Theater and a short walk to the elevator that takes one up to the Grand Piazza.

Room was very cozy on a snowy day. Large room with plenty of free space for luggage. Nice bathroom and free-flowing HOT water in the shower. Views from the windows over the city. This small hotel is in one of Gubbio's original medieval buildings. ||||Owner (Frederica) was very kind and welcoming. I had to move here from another local hotel. Frederica checked me in at 10am (very unusual in Europe for such an early check-in. Frederica also helped me negotiate the narrow stairways with my enormous, heavy luggage. I didn't see an air conditioning, ||||Hotel is part of the historic center of the city. Reaching the hotel by car is only possible if you have a tiny vehicle. I recommend you park in the free parking lot at these coordinates: 43.350377, 12.575806.

I was given a large room and, given its size, I was surprised that there was no desk and a chair for me to use in order to write. The bathroom is well equipped though a plump guest might have a difficult time using the toilet which is very close to the wall and sink. The view from the window was not amazing and at night you could hear people's voices. Nonetheless, the location was unique (very close to the action), breakfast served in the garden was very nice and the price is unbeatable. I've stayed in broom closets for a higher price elsewhere...

We spent a wonderful stay at Residenza di Piccardi. Federica made our days in Gubbio were really special, she prepared a planning for sightseeing. She helped me even with gluten free products for breakfast. To sum up, lovely owner and very comfortable room at a beautiful environment. Greetings from Canary Islands. It is in the center of the city. From there you can reach all the point of interest in Gubbio. The residence is so clean and comfortable and the breakfast in the garden is so relaxing....than it is Federica.....Federica!
