Despite the initial unhelpfulness of the person at the counter, who did not explain the differences between the tickets, and the added insult of discovering that for just one extra euro you could get a 29-euro ticket covering all the monuments in Dresden, the visit was superb. They also accept Revolut. The 28-euro ticket is completely worth it; we spent three hours inside the castle. From currency collections to weaponry, local history, and art, it is one of the best-organized history museums I have visited. It’s better to arrive early to avoid confusion. The only drawbacks were the wait and the interior patio, where the air was almost unbreathable due to a nasty policy allowing thousands of people to smoke inside the palace.

The special show inside was just amazing!! Make sure you get the ticket to go inside, the ticket is not so expensive, and the money you spent for sure is worth every penny!!

So much to see, you could spend a whole day here. Everything has been renovated and laid out relatively recently and so the displays are very impressive. There is also a view not to be missed from the tower. We additionally did a guided tour which was really excellent, the guide was able to cover a lot of ground with us.

An excellent collection of precious objects, historical costumes, armor, weapons, coins, etc. However, part of the collection requires an additional ticket, and another part of the collection (the private quarters of the Saxon royals) was closed down without any warning. Also get tickets ahead of time or be prepared to wait a while in line.

Dresden Castle is absolutely incredible! The mix of history, stunning architecture, and insane collections inside makes it a must visit. The intricate details of the building itself are just next level, and the museums inside, especially the Green Vault, are mind blowing. You get to see royal treasures, crazy detailed jewelry, and so much history packed into one place.

The castle is wonderful, however be aware that the standard ticket doesn't cover all areas and the special collections.

Wow! The museum is just amazing! You can see everything imaginable in the Treasure exhibition: gems, diamonds, gold, ivory, amber, crystal... You are not allowed to take photos in the first few rooms, which was a pity at first, but later we got used to this and felt that concentrating on appreciating the exhibits and listening to the stories actually enhanced the viewing experience. This museum is not only huge but also filled with fascinating and exciting exhibits.
