A safe place to play billiards (2 nice 4x8’s), have some food and a beer, watch sports on multiple TVs within a 15-20 minute walk from the cruise ship terminal (we were at pier #22). There is a buzzer system to gain access and a sign in a logbook requirement; but, the atmosphere is very friendly and the food is great. They have their own kitchen setup. Best of all, the pool table was free! Holly was the bar maid and was wonderful!

Refreshing my review after 4 years of experience in here. The food and vibe have been changing since my first visit, the menu and the price tags got changed multiple times since then. Today I ordered the hot pork s/w with a Greek salad instead of the carb sides and the salad was the best ever. The hot pork was tasty but the gravy was a bit salty for me. The best part of your experience at this location would be the staffs, I love every single one of them and today I had a chance to get to know Nathalie. She's briliant, hard working and a highly skilled server. Darlene is amazingly smart and lovely.

Great "neighborhood bar". Friendly faces, great food and excellent service, always. You will need to be with a member the first few times (3, and then you can become a member yourself!) Great prices too!

The best kept secret in SE Hfx. It's the spot to be on Inglis St...excellent food from the kitchen, outstanding bartenders who care about their patrons. I should have been drinking here 20yrs ago...

This place is pretty neat. It's not a public restaurant, but more private. Code to get in the front door. The place is a bit worn, but overall it's a really nice small pub. Food was excellent and beers were great. Has pool tables, darts and a table top curling game.

Great local pub. Lots of games, nice music and fine company. Very fun Karaoke nights. Lovely staff and good atmosphere altogether.

This is one of the best kept unknown places in Halifax. I had the best brunch in town with the best prices. Great staff and super comfortable. Irf you haven't been here yet you are missing out.

Yelp
Resolutes Club is not only the best kept secret of the South end, but also one of the oldest amateur athletics clubs in Canada. 'Resolutes' is a members only club, but for a few dollars you can join and enjoy live music, pool, shuffle board and some of the cheapest drinks in the city. The 'social membership' at Resolutes will run you $10/annually and gets you in the door. (there is a pass code) If you want to be a voting member of the Resolutes Amateur Athletic Club then you need to shell out a whooping $32/annually. Membership dues go towards supporting various athletic organizations in the HRM such as: Metro Mens Soccer League, TARS Rugby, St. Mary's Football team as well as the Resolutes Pool league. Resolutes also offers some pretty great pub grub!

Yelp
Cheap drink and great people the Resolute Club has been in the South End of Halifax form many years. Yes it is a private club that is for members only it is almost like an old boys club house. Walking in you have bar located at the front with is a full bar equipped with everything. Happy hours still rings at the Resolutes Club making the drink even cheaper. Pool table and dart boards location at the back of the bar make sometimes very competitive. Large screen TVs are location always displaying some form of sports for the boys. I have attend many functions and parties at this club and always had a great time at each event. Drop on by and ring the bell maybe they will let you in.

Yelp
I've only had interactions with the management and my host while in here, so keep this in mind. The manager was incredibly rude, having the audacity to literally laugh at me when asking if they were hiring. Service was meh anyway, and quite honestly I would never go anywhere near this place again, let alone pay to go in. Avoid at all costs.

Yelp
I have to agree with a post below, Resolute's reminds me of Moe's Tavern (Simpsons). We went here for St. Patrick's day as 1) I knew someone who was playing in the band for the early afternoon, and 2) it's across the street from my apartment. I'd never been before and when I walked in I was a little surprised. It's a little dark (adding to the Simpson-esque appeal), but it's much bigger. We showed up at 3:15pm and grabbed the last table (so it was pretty busy). There was a mix in age groups. From over 60 to mid-twenties. It really made for a diverse, and hilarious evening. Beers were 3.75 and doubles (liquor) 9.00$, so the prices were quite reasonable. My friend had a hamburger, fries and a beer for under 10$. Food was decent (nothing fancy, but edible!). Had a great time, and would definitely go back for another St. Patrick's day. Not quite sure what it'd be like on the average Friday/Saturday. I assume sporting events are quite busy as well.

Yelp
Resolutes is just a gem. Hidden among the endless rows of town homes and apartments in the South End of Halifax, Resolute's is the casual bar you always wish was around the corner and could pop in for a cheeky pint. I moved next door to the pub, bought a membership, and ended up going more frequently than I care to disclose. Since moving out of the area I have been having serious withdrawal for a few reasons; (1) the cheap drinks. They are nice on your wallet and your taste buds, enough said. (2) the awesome staff. They want what is best for the pub. It's their baby. Mischief is dealt with easily and quickly, usually with the rest of the pub cheering them out with a, "This is Resolute's, for goodness sake! Have some respect!" Working behind the bar are your friendly neighborhood bar tenders who just met you and already think you're the cat's meow. Needless to say, I've always been impressed. (3) the food. I'll say nothing more than 'brunch'. Anything under that umbrella. (4) the crowd. As a gal in her mid-twenties, I have spent my fair share of time in the hot spots downtown where elbowing people to get through crowds is a must, and most of the time I have no interest in going back. I don't want to worry what I look like or whether or not I'll have to listen to LMFAO on repeat all night. I want to get a pint, a pool stick and have some quality time with my friends. This is that place. On the other side, I suppose as a single lady, it isn't an awful thing to be in a predominantly male crowd either ;) As it's be pointed out, you need a membership to get in or know someone who does. Want to come off the street and buy one? Sure! $10 ma'am. Give you access to free pool, shuffleboard and buckets of good times. Shhh, though. Some of us are trying to keep this place a secret. ;)

Yelp
The Resolute Club is a fixture of the South End. It is a membership only and you must be referred in by another member. The fees here are pretty low, so no worries that way. This is where you will join and meet the regulars here, it is a very active place for the sports events. There are pool tables in the back part and you can even hold functions there. We though a big bash, with band and everything, it was a great time.

Yelp
Best bar in the city! Cheap beers, nice staff and free pool and shuffle board! I can hear your minds blowing with every word! If you love a friendly , sharing relationship with the people around you make sure to stop by and pick up a membership!

Yelp
My fav bar. Great people, free shuffleboard, pool and darts. Great specials, drink prices. I always have fun relaxing here with my friends.

Ian L.

Yelp
Great bartenders. Greasy food. Not a fan of the food but it would probably be a great place to have a group for drinks. The service was really good!

Chris F.

Yelp
fress shuffleboard, pool and darts. The food is good and well priced and they host pool, trivia and other nights. A fun spot with drink specials different nights.

GK S.

Yelp
Great staff and great prices with good food. If you just want to grab a beer and some decent pub food, this place is as good as any. As stated before its members only, but membership is inexpensive.
