Resort Thalasso Concarneau - Spa Marin - Resort

The room was nice and the reception staff were nice. Didn’t really care for the restaurant or the way we were treated as non-French speakers. The spa was just ok. I thought the water was too chilly, no options for warmer, no Sauna and just not relaxing.

There is nothing wrong with this hotel, but also nothing that would motivate me to come back. Clean room, good parking, ok breakfast, friendly reception. But we felt the hotel has no “heart”, the interior design is awful (matter of taste obviously) and our room smelled strongly of carpets.

Resort states 4*. Closer to 3* in the apartment buildings we'd booked. Entrance door broken and permanently open , carpets worn and bleach stained, room door didn't close fully without force. Apartment was basic, clean and functional. Noise transmits through rooms on all sides though, so not quiet. Outside pool was heated and used by some residents. Main hotel has a spa and restaurant with bar but only really serves hotel guests.

Perfect place to chill and relax! We had a great time. The staff were friendly and all commodities very good!

Had a one night stay, which was long enough. Plus: Nice big car park, pleasant reception staff and barman. The barman has to be summoned from the restaurant as he is required to serve there. The room although clean was badly designed... a bed side cabinet on each side of the bed is a basic requirement. The most disappointing thing was the restaurant. 29 euros for 2 courses. We had a complimentary tiny, rock hard piece of toast with scrambled egg ...I then had 3 tiny razor clams, my husband had a weird, tasteless green soup with bits of boiled egg floating in it. followed by an uninspiring piece of hake in a basic sauce. The barman said that the restaurant is aiming for fine dining....they have a long way to go. The trouble is, it is at least 45 mins to walk into town from the location of the hotel.

The location by the beach was great but I would never stay here again because the hospitality was very poor. I booked this hotel because of the pool facilities but the staff have a lot of weird hangups about guest access to it. When we arrived, we were told we couldn’t check in early or leave our bags at the front desk to enjoy the pool for a little bit until our room was ready. When we booked spa appointments and tried to enjoy the pools after we were checked in, a woman staff member of the pool facility approached me to tell me that my standard men’s swimsuit wasn’t appropriate and I must purchase a tight little pair of trunks they conveniently happened to sell at the spa in order to even access the facilities. I couldn’t get a solid explanation as to why but was made to feel like I had done something wrong by wearing a normal swimsuit and not a tight little pair of briefs. By the time that I bought the swimsuit they made me buy, I had to get ready to leave for a wedding I was there for totally frazzled. When I had my spa appointment the next day, I still couldn’t use the pool facility because there was a water aerobics class and they had oversold the pool to max capacity. Aside from the poor service and inability to use the pools, the air conditioning didn’t work at all, bathroom was incredibly spartan with only one “all in one” body wash/shampoo/conditioner, and the hotel itself felt dated like it was a retirement home. I was appalled by the poor service at the spa and overall low quality of the hotel. Don’t let the nice pictures fool you, they ruined the only redeeming qualities of the hotel with poor service. My advice to management is to have the younger spa receptionists leading your operation because they were the only pleasant members of staff that I encountered.

Closer to a 3 star than to a 4 star but still ok

This is a hidden gem at the riviera of Brittany, but is becoming quite popular so won't be a hidden gem any time soon... We enjoyed staying there with my wife, I enjoyed sauna and the spa, jacuzzi, the swimming pool etc., the balcony provided a nice view of the sea, and the room was spacious to take in two persons comfortably. The cleaning service was excellent, and the bathroom and towels well taken care of. One problem is that there is less and less staff each year who speak (any) English, but it's our fault that we did not learn French yet. Something to do in the future! Oh, yes, and the restaurant significantly improved as of from last year, the meals were simply top class (the resort probably hired a very good cook this year). The reception staff were so good and nice, and my wife enjoyed the wellness facilities and staff there were also accommodating (although did not speak any English as per last year when they were able to recommend plenty of things)...
