"Restauracja Cechowa is stuck in the 1980s—and that’s a good thing. Everything from the restaurant’s decor and menu to the waitstaff’s uniforms and style of service feels vintage in the most charming way, making it one of the best places in Kraków to sample traditional Polish food like beef tartare, bigos (a classic hunter’s dish with sour cabbage and meat), and the signature meat roulade, which comes wrapped around pickled cucumbers and is accompanied by buckwheat and gravy. Here, you can enjoy simple, straightforward Polish fare in a relaxed atmosphere, all in the company of locals who have been Cechowa regulars for decades."

A very cozy Polish restaurant in the old town of Kraków. It offers traditional Polish cuisine with very tasty dishes. The service was a bit slow, but that’s alright — everything was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The decor is also charming and adds to the warm atmosphere.

Everything we ordered is just 44pln, yet the service was good, caring and attentive. The waitress was very friendly, kind and polite. The food we ordered were mainly pork, which the sauce tasted even better with the rice which was soft.

Cechowa in Kraków is an absolute gem! The atmosphere is very, very nice—warm, welcoming, and cozy, just like a place you want to keep coming back to. The staff are also very, very nice—friendly, attentive, and genuinely kind, which makes the whole experience feel personal and relaxed. The food? Simply excellent. It’s honest, home-cooked Polish food at its best, and at a very reasonable price. The żurek is rich and flavorful, and the pierogi are absolutely top-notch—perfectly made, delicious, and comforting. I highly recommend this place. It’s one of those restaurants where, no matter the day or time, it’s always an easy choice. If you’re in the mood for a great meal, just head to Ciechowa—you’ll always leave satisfied.

Polish food and atmosphere- great choice for a first meal in Krakow. There were a lot of tourists but also Polish guests. We shared meat pierogi as a starter and that was a simple yet delicious dish! The veal schnitzel had an amazingly crisp crust, best I ever ate. The fried beetroot side dish was a buttery comfort food mash, however, not sure I got the right dish as I had expected fried/baked slices or such. My sister had potato pancake served like a “burger” with pork stew between. Not a favorite of mine. I would go again!

This is probably the best polish cuisine restaurant in Krakow! In a discreet street far from the bs of the main place, you will have all the traditional dishes and you are cared by some mamuska! You leave with the stomach filled and smile on your face!

Really nice experience. Great location and very good value for a restaurant in old town. Spent 40Euro for 2 people. Best dishes were the fish, potato pancakes and Goulash. Nice service.

A traditional restaurant with very tasty local cuisine and very friendly service with quiet grace and warm touch. I'd say tradition at its best. If you're fed up with pizza and want to get a feeling of the local taste: it's here. Trout was very tasty and so were escalopes (to share an idea: escalopes are something as a Wiener schnitzel but much more delicious meat)

The place was a recommendation of a local taxi driver, he said the food reminded him of his grandmas food. And all I can say it was delicious, dumplings were awesome, the fish and the breaded pork chop were delicious as well. And prices were very reasonable. You should come if you are in krakow.

Yelp
This is a place feels every bit of its forty-year tradition. It is located in the Krakow Old Town, near Jagiellonian University. Cechowa serves quality Polish cuisine at a decent price. I usually order beef tartare. Even though they make it with rump steak, instead of tenderloin, the meat is always fresh and served in my favorite, traditional way. Loyal customers can often be found here, especially ladies who meet to catch up in a comforting and familiar atmosphere. The service is always friendly, inviting and helpful.

Yelp
Old style - great quality at an inexpensive price. Steak tartare , herring, potato pancakes, so many main dishes too served in a very polish style. Many restaurants chase what's new and fashionable , not Cechowa. I can't recommend it more highly.
