If you’re visiting Gdańsk, give this place an evening and revel in the kitchen’s culinary genius. The best way I can describe the food is simply magical.
For starter I had the mushroom soup pictured, it was thick, creamy, deeply rich and earthy, probably the best soup I have had in Eastern Europe but the real show stealer was the main.
We had the Duck Polish Style with Apples and Cherry Jam, and every other bite we uttered a “wow” or just simply looked at each other dumbstruck.
The combination of flavours on the main were masterful, chapeau to the kitchen team and chef. It was the type of dish that you knew had been prepared by a chef that is truly in love with their craft. I couldn’t thank them enough.
The attention to detail on the main was sublime. The cherry jam complimented the half a duck perfectly, but furthermore hidden within the hollowed out apple was a cranberry jus that somehow enhanced the melody of flavours further. The roast potatoes were perfect too, crisp on the outside and fluffy and packed with flavour within. I really could not fault anything. Each bite was like discovery on a fork.
Restauracja Gdańska has hosted Presidents and Popes, I can categorically guarantee you will be served some of the best combinations of flavours that Polish cuisine has to offer in an absolutely enchanting backdrop.
This one meal made me want to return to Gdańsk specifically to eat here again and moreover, take more friends to share this dining experience. That’s how good this meal was.
Make time for this place, you will not regret it.
