The interior seemed to have quite a nice ambiance and that’s what attracted me to this restaurant in the first place. It doesn’t disappoint in person, the waiters wear a cute uniform that matches the old polish style and makes for a fun dining experience. Had to wait a bit longer than 15 min to get my order taken (it wasn’t very busy) but from that point the servers were quite attentive. Overall very happy with the service. The menu comprises of traditional polish food, I was specifically after a good beef tartare. It was served with a classic selection of onion, gherkins, mustard, and pickled mushrooms. The tartare itself tasted of Maggi, which I’m not a fan of, but it wasn’t overwhelming and the tartare was good overall. I also ordered the roast duck leg with cherries. The side cabbage was a bit under-seasoned but everything else was up to standard. Overall the food meets traditional standards but doesn’t exceed them. When I had to use the facilities, I was quite surprised with the stench. I’d expect a higher standard of cleanliness, it’s a restaurant and not a pub on a Friday night. Deducting one star from the atmosphere for that.

Restaurant Gdansk was a one of a kind experience. The restaurant was like an old babcias living room if she also lived in a museum. Our waiter was not only an incredible host but also knowledgeable beyond belief about the history of the restaurant and whenever we asked a question he answered it spectacularly. The food was phenomenal the tatar was fresh and the duck was sweet, succulent and gorgeous. The drinks were exceptional and the price was reasonable. I would recommend anyone go there if they’re a fan of traditional Polish food and traditional Polish history. 10 out of 10. Thank you for the experience!

A wonderful restaurant serving Polish cuisine. Service at the highest level! Very tasty food, huge portions. For the same amount in other establishments you will have a very average meal somewhere at a small table in the basement. A definite must visit to Gdansk. For two we ate for 65 euros. And this with alcohol! Honestly, we ate too much.

I will give this place more stars if it was possible. Original decoration, that will keep you entertained looking at all night. Great local home made food and good prices. It is a must go place if you are in Gdansk.

Very delicious, authentic Polish food. First, let me start with the building itself, located in a gorgeous old brick building right in the heart of the old city center. The decor of the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous. Like stepping into an old castle. They have small tables, private areas, private rooms, and even if facility to accommodate a large group for a wedding. The food was absolutely delicious. I started with the beef tartare and mushroom soup. For my main course I had the beef rolls. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for authentic old world, Polish food.

This place is beautiful! Full of antiques and history! It was suggested by my husband so we decided to try and it was delicious! We had the King shrimp in garlic butter to start. The. He ordered the mushroom soup and the Duck-polish style with apple and cheery jam. I ordered the Fried halibut in shrimp sauce. And for dessert we tried the pancake with apples and glazed liqour and the pancake with ice cream and rum. It was all so delicious! Highly recommended!!

If you’re visiting Gdańsk, give this place an evening and revel in the kitchen’s culinary genius. The best way I can describe the food is simply magical. For starter I had the mushroom soup pictured, it was thick, creamy, deeply rich and earthy, probably the best soup I have had in Eastern Europe but the real show stealer was the main. We had the Duck Polish Style with Apples and Cherry Jam, and every other bite we uttered a “wow” or just simply looked at each other dumbstruck. The combination of flavours on the main were masterful, chapeau to the kitchen team and chef. It was the type of dish that you knew had been prepared by a chef that is truly in love with their craft. I couldn’t thank them enough. The attention to detail on the main was sublime. The cherry jam complimented the half a duck perfectly, but furthermore hidden within the hollowed out apple was a cranberry jus that somehow enhanced the melody of flavours further. The roast potatoes were perfect too, crisp on the outside and fluffy and packed with flavour within. I really could not fault anything. Each bite was like discovery on a fork. Restauracja Gdańska has hosted Presidents and Popes, I can categorically guarantee you will be served some of the best combinations of flavours that Polish cuisine has to offer in an absolutely enchanting backdrop. This one meal made me want to return to Gdańsk specifically to eat here again and moreover, take more friends to share this dining experience. That’s how good this meal was. Make time for this place, you will not regret it.
