Restauracja Gvara

Very cosy place in Old Town Gdansk. Comfy, warm and really genuine people working there. We had 5 different dishes, and we were so hungry that all the pictures are taken after we had some. Food was excellent and so were the desserts. Would highly recommend this place!

Nice place in the center of the old town. We were there on a weekday evening, practically empty place. We loved the ribs and the duck! Thank you!

Scam alert! The place charged us 20 zloty (4.60€) service fee, when lliterally the waitress only said hi and what you want, gave us the plates and finally the bill. Where was the service?!? She served the local group with a big smile and a local old woman, but did not give a * about anybody else in the restaurant. We waited the food for a while and it was mediocre at best. My spouse got pork ribs that where tasty, not the best but ok and I ordered pork chop, kotlet schabowy that had only breading on it. This dish was more anemic looking than in gas stations and even they are much better made, and I tought this was a restaurant. This place is a typical tourist trap that looks nice in review pictures, but when you go in you realize that everything (table, chairs, interior) is made very cheap, but the food prices are very high. I think the most telling part of this scam place is that the waitress did not ask us anytime how was the food or is everything well with us. If so, I would have said something about the dish or about the bill, but she wanished righ away when I gave my creditcard without even seeing the bill first.

It was my second time in this restaurant. Very nice option for a group of people with different food preferences. Here you will find salads, pierogi, burgers, pasta, seafood, meat options. "żeberka" is highly recommended 👌

The dining experience was absolutely delightful, and I highly recommend this restaurant! 💕 The food was exceptionally delicious, leaving a lasting impression. However, I would suggest implementing a menu with pictures to facilitate ordering for foreign visitors, enhancing their overall experience.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a fantastic experience at Gvara in Gdańsk! I ordered the traditional Polish soup and the traditional pork chop, and both were absolutely delicious. The flavors were authentic and perfectly balanced—true comfort food done right. The ambiance was wonderful—cozy, welcoming, and beautifully designed to reflect Polish culture. The customer service was outstanding as well; the staff were attentive, friendly, and made sure I had everything I needed. I highly recommend Gvara to anyone looking for amazing Polish cuisine in Gdańsk. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in the city!

We had a wonderful time at the restaurant (dinner). Nice decor, cozy, good acoustics. The staff was were polite and professional. The food was tasty, original and very nice plated and served. We had the beef tartar and beetroot carpaccio as starters and 2 burgers and pork spareribs as main dishes. In addition we had a round of drinks plus 2 sodas. We ended up with 350PLN (excl. tip) which we find very reasonable for that level. Definitely recommend!

The food was great, but watch out for additional hidden service fees!! 💰 👎 According to the menu I had to pay 25€ but in the end I was charged for 29€. I was in a and I only found later when I saw the notifications on my phone 📱
