Hotel Domestique is an ideal destination for those seeking a quick, serene and moderately romantic experience. Your stay includes plenty of amenities. The staff is friendly, welcoming and accommodating to guest needs. Outside of one issue with the cook on our steak, the food was delicious and we ate all our meals at Restaurant 17. We were incredibly impressed by the location of our room right over the courtyard. Beautiful and peaceful. Keep in mind that your room does not include a fridge if you’re a whack job like me and brings your own coffee creamer (and a didn’t pack a cooler) BUT the staff will be happy to help you with this. We stayed onsite the whole time despite there being other activities in the area. A few small tweaks to this place and it could easily be a five star hotel.

My husband and I came here for my birthday last night and it was absolutely perfect! From the service to the food, I wish I could give more stars! Everyone at restaurant 17 were so accommodating and made sure we were nice and warm outside to enjoy our view. They even gave me a blanket! Just amazing!! My espresso martini was one of the best I ever had and you could taste how fresh the food was. The view of the mountains were beautiful. I could go on about how amazing it was and I promise we will be back from Atlanta soon!

Loved the views here and the server and good were top notch. Very nice fine dining and great wine selection. The food was great quality and presentation was great. They did a nice big charcuterie board.

We had a delightful experience celebrating our friend's special birthday. I made the reservation through OpenTable with a few notes/requests. Without even calling to double check, they had our party of 10 seated in a quiet private room, had Happy Birthday signs on the table, and gave a complementary desert to the birthday girl. The food and drinks were excellent and the service and kind attention by Nico (and others) was equally wonderful. We cannot wait to return in spring for happy hour by the reflecting pool.

We’ve been a couple of times and it’s always an excellent experience. 4 of us were there for a birthday brunch this weekend and it was terrific. The food, the choices, the ambiance are lovely and the service is even better! Cameron took very good care of us.

This place is amazing. We came for a bday dinner w 10 girls...I could see how this place even better with having dinner or drinks outside when it gets warm.. we still managed to take great pictures. I put 4 for service only be cause I and my friends asked how much was a bottle of wine just be cause most of us has been drinking the same rose by the glass and we wanted a bottle. Asked 4 different times and we never got a response. I don't get why such a big secret.. we still got a bottle. FOOD had amazing taste , we all loved it! I'm putting few pictures.

Fabulous property! Stunning views to go along with delicious food that is farm fresh and meticulously prepared. I love that their menu is ever changing and has lots of vegetarian options for my parents. Feels like a mini getaway!

Google
Probably the best meal we have enjoyed in Greenville! Amazing views, fantastic food and the staff is incredibly friendly. If you are looking for some fine dinning and great food, you have to try Restaurant 17.

Yelp
After a year and a half hiatus, I'm back! And this place is better than ever! Went for a pre-valentines date with my wife and the food and ambience did not disappoint. We ate on the patio under a heater and it was really enjoyable at sunset; I'm actually super glad we ate outside because house special was striped bass and the inside smelled strong of fish. The cupids cloud drink was really good but I forgot to take a picture.

Luisa H.

Yelp
First time at Restaurant 17. Celebrating a birthday. The service & food were very good. And the cocktails were fantastic too!

Carla A.

Yelp
Beautiful mountain views. The food was amazing, I will be dreaming of that ricotta dip for decades! The service was friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
This restaurant is in a beautiful spot. It's pricey, but the perfect place to go for a special occasion. The food is very good. We got the Brussel sprout appetizer, and I got the rigatoni for dinner. I have a severe dairy allergy, and they were able to modify both to have no cheese. They also had a vegan cheesecake option for dessert, which I enjoyed. I'd recommend it and would go back.

Yelp
The Thanksgiving buffet was poorly organized. While the layout was congested, guests had to manipulate plates, open a door to return to their seat. While the food was well prepared, it was cold by the time one returned to their seat. The buffet menu was limited and not listed anywhere prior to approaching the table. Bread was lacking and one choice of salad dressing. My server poured my coffee while I waiting in line for the buffet. Of course, it was lukewarm. Ambience was pleasant.

Yelp
Incredible meal. Went for a birthday. Started with the stracciatella and beans - such a unique offering. And figs and prosciutto - a loved classic with a fun twist with the Aleppo and some jammy pepper situation. Boyfriend had the duck and I had the casarrecce - both just top notch cooked to perfection and incredibly flavorful. Had their peach semifredo for desert which was beautifully balanced.

Maggie P.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! The staff was welcoming and attentive. Nico our bartender and server made us feel like family. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and read wonderful reviews for the food. One of the locals at the Grand Bohemian Greenville recommended it so we went. Everything on the menu is farm to table. The pasta is made in house and delicious. You have to get the Brussel sprout appetizer. My husband ordered the duck and it was perfectly prepared. I ordered the bucatini and it was amazing as well.

Marita S.

Yelp
Will and Leanna were our most GRACIOUS servers for lunch today. Will was very very professional and ensured that we were well taken care of! Such five-star service!!! Very impressive team they have at Restaurant 17. The food was amazing!! Shrimp and grits were so delicious!!! My friends also enjoyed their meal. I highly recommend this restaurant. The location is so beautiful; a lovely escape for a weekend. Beautiful boutique hotel with excellent staff!!!

Adina L.

Yelp
Went there based on reviews. Truly mediocre food, and phony servers trying to be ritzy. Disappointed.

Charles W.

Yelp
To start with, this was the most expensive dinner we have ever had (and we dine in California often) so the rating is based on high expectations. The staff was super nice and very friendly. Dinner took 2 hours for the two of us. We had bread as our appetizer ( not free), 2 glasses of wine and 2 beers. I had Duck and a sweet potatoes, the misses had Chicken and asparagus. All in ~ $ 230. The food was "farm fresh", most the vegetables were just under cooked (crunchy sweet potatoes) but that may well be the style for farm fresh. Seasonings were light (we asked for salt ) All of it was tasty but no Michelin stars. The location is out in the woods, no breath taking vistas. For seating you have three choices: inside ( nothing special), porch ( really nice, some covered ), patio ( in the open). Weather permitting, outside is a must for this experience. We have been waiting years to go here, so we'll just mark this as done. For us, there are better choices in area at this price point. I do think it might be a great place to do lunch, outside, when the weather is nice.

Cynthia L.

Yelp
This hidden restaurant is a must when visiting Greenville. It was a quick drive to get to and must make reservations but the views while having brunch were spectacular. Service was incredible- everyone was super nice! The menu had so many tempting choices however we narrowed down and so happy with my choices. The cappuccino was yummy . 10000% recommend this location to anyone. Grab a wine and walk around the area too; views are amazing.

Yelp
Absolutely 10 out of 10 will be returning went there for my guys 50th birthday and we loved every bit service was incredible and the meal was worth every penny the only thing I'd change is the lighting I'd make it a bit more dimmed other than that it was perfect!

Yelp
We made the trip out to Restaurant 17 this past Saturday expecting to be ordering lunch... and my wife did. She had the Domestique salad (named after the hotel where this restaurant is located) with the soup of the day, which was a Southwestern lentil. I, however, was tempted by the brunch special - eggs benedict with steak and a horseradish hollandaise. We were both wowed! Amy's salad and soup were outstanding. She loves corn and goat cheese, and this salad had plenty of both, with many more tasty ingredients. The lentil soup had a definite chili-like taste with just a perfect amount of heat. My benedict, though, was the absolute star of the show as far as I was concerned! I am a bit of an eggs benedict afficionado - Amy would say "snob" :) - but I order it just about any time I see an interesting version on a menu. This one definitely caught my attention and it was honestly one of the best I've ever had. I can't stand when a poached egg is overcooked - and I've had too many that were. This one, however, was absolute perfection! The steak was tender and flavorful and the sauce was perfect. The dish came with a fantastic roasted root vegetable combo that also went well with the hollandaise. Just a perfect dish! Also can't overlook the cocktails... we tried the Danny DeVino and the Gin Diesel. Despite the kind of corny names, they were terrific. Also, the service and ambiance were top notch. This was a bit of a drive for us from Simpsonville, but well worth it. We'll definitely be back.

Yelp
I spent my entire working life in large cities and developed high standards for quality restaurants, which has largely led to disappointments in this area. What a wonderful exception 17 is! Top drawer all the way, and my new standard for area restaurants.

Daiyet A.

Yelp
A 5 star rating!!!! Absolutely perfect, no need to say more! Wow, amazing atmosphere and food was on point!

Mariana O.

Yelp
I must say we had such an amazing time. The food was incredible, the fish has the perfect combination of flavors and it was satisfying. The lemon sauce was creamy and buttery, the vegetables were perfectly picked for an amazing tastebud experience. The only downside is the lack of desserts, they had 2 dish options but plenty of dessert drinks. The Apple tartlet was hard and perhaps a bit cold for the warm filling. The service was friendly and the waiter helped me pick out the perfect wine pairing. I must say that they have a variety of cocktails and wine selection. I was surprised the waiter could tell me great combinations and explain the dish with so much detail. The atmosphere is cozy but formal. We watched the sun go down and felt comfortable to stay over 2 hours talking. The ambiance is delightful and my husband and I had a successful date night. Thankful for restaurants like these that are sensitive to each special occasion. We had an amazing time from start to finish.

Beth S.

Yelp
Best service I have ever experienced in a restaurant setting! We ate on the patio/terrace on one of the first cool nights toward the end of summer to celebrate our anniversary. Enjoyed hearing about the history and philosophy behind the aesthetic. We will be returning for sure. Food and wine selections/suggestions were top notch.

Linda P.

Yelp
A dear friend and neighbor brought me here to celebrate my 3/4 century birthday. The locale is beautiful; the setting is breathtaking--very Tuscan; the clouds put on an amazing display that day. We chatted up the only other couple on the piazza with us and they were charming. The menu is varied with selections to satisfy every palate. The service is seamless and professional. Neat, clean venue. But the "hold onto your hat" moment came when I asked our delightful server the name of their chef. What a treat for my soul to find out he was one of MY former culinary students!! I knew he was excellent in class all those years ago but had lost touch and had NO idea he had achieved such prominence in his career! Award winning; certified forager and more. And of course I had to go to the kitchen and reunite! Longs hugs; big smiles. A perfect ending to my birthday celebration!

Anita L.

Yelp
Wow m! Absolutely blown away by the food here. Everything was delicious. The ambiance was kind of upscale casual, with lots of other guests even in jeans. Highly recommend the cheese dip and Brussels sprouts. The dessert was also very delicious. For cocktails, I highly recommend the espresso martini and mountain water.

John P.

Yelp
Supremely talented chef using locally sourced ingredients as well as anyone in Greenville. If it's ambiance you want the location and views are spectacular but so is the food. Wonderful and diverse brunch and dinner menus...so far we've tried 6 different dishes from shrimp and grits and omelettes to pasta dishes and they've all been delicious. Solid selection of wines by the glass, 1/2 price bottles at times and diverse craft beers from the Carolinas. Great place to wow your spouse or date or to spoil yourself.

Kara P.

Yelp
Went here tonight for our anniversary. The food and drinks were fabulous! Amazing views of the mountains. And the staff was wonderful. Best dinner we've had in a long time! Can't wait to come back!

Kristin G.

Yelp
Had never been here and was really looking forward to checking it out. We got seated behind a post and seems the servers forgot about us. Got one drink within the hour and a half we were there and I have no pictures since we never received any food. Sounds like others had a great experience so we aren't sure what happened but it was a very negative experience. Got seated at our 7:30 reservation and by 8:30 still didn't have our appetizers. Then they came around to say our dinner would be ready in about 20-30 minutes. After that came and went we said goodbye.

Michael B.

Yelp
We just discovered this gem of a restaurant and came back twice in a week. The setting is STUNNING. We requested to sit in the courtyard which overlooks a beautiful fountain with expansive views out to the mountains. The food was PHENOMENAL and the service was 5 Star. We are telling everyone about it and this will be one of our regular stops whenever we are in town.

Gil G.

Yelp
If you want something different, this is a nice change of pace. Beautiful and relaxed setting with good food. We found it a bit pricey, but not outlandish. The staff were terrific.

Jan B.

Yelp
Our first time trying this restaurant and definitely disappointed based on the ratings. Quality and execution of food for Easter was lacking given the price point. The cocktails were lackluster and the prime rib was over cooked and dry. Dessert was basically a muffin. Our first time trying this restaurant and definitely disappointed based on the ratings. Yelp
My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and Barbara took exceptional care of us. The food was amazing and she offered to personally take us to the library for our dessert. To this day, she is the best server that we have had, and as good as the restaurant is in general, we will be going back for her!!

Amanda K.

Yelp
Booked for 7 pm on Black Friday. Couldn't see the views but the dining experience was good. Food was good, but nothing extraordinary. Staff was nice. Drinks were yummy! Location is far out so be careful about expecting an Uber.

Victoria L.

Yelp
This place is definitely SC's best kept secret. The service, the food, the drinks, the VIEWS. All were top notch. I was only 30 minutes from Greenville, yet it felt like I was in a complete different country. The architecture is stunning and looks like something you would find in Italy. What I love about this restaurant is that it is connected to Hotel Domestique and it makes a great venue for weddings and events. With the hotel, restaurant, pool, and views, this would be the perfect little weekend getaway spot! Absolutely love everything about this place.

Vanessa M.

Yelp
My husband and I got to sneak out away from the kids for a romantic dinner out. We live in South Western NC so finding this restaurant was a treat. Our entire meal was delicious. The flavors were so wonderful! We had excellent service, too. We loved that the chef uses local and seasonal ingredients to create the menu. We started with the ricotta cheese dip and bread, which we learned was made from start to finish in-house. So yummy! We then both enjoyed the steak dinner-- the mushrooms, the squash purée, the pearl onions, the cook of the steak-- everything was perfect. We finished with mixed drinks, a seasonal dessert (can't remember the name) and dark chocolate truffles. Again, so yummy. This place is definitely a hidden gem in the upstate! Thank you for the great service, Noah, we will be back!

Hillary F.

Yelp
This place in located in the mountains and is part of a hotel. The location is gorgeous and the table we got outside was well shaded and had fans over so it was pleasant. We came here to have Sunday brunch but I don't think we will be coming back. The lady who sat us was super friendly but our waiter looked like he had no energy and probably rather be somewhere else, we could barely hear him when he spoke. The brunch menu is very small not much to be honest. Burgers were extremely overcooked, the bacon burnt and the fries ok, the breakfast hash was covered in a creamy sauce that was spicy and all I could taste was the heat, the trout was greasy as it is fried, mimosas were fine. Portions were fine. We didn't not enjoy the food nor the service and prices are on the higher end so you expect very tasty food and superb service which we didn't receive.

ginger w.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! Lots of interesting, creative menu choices. Friendly staff and beautiful surroundings.

Rita P.

Yelp
Had our first experience at Restaurant 17 for their Valentine Dinner. Absolutely wonderful experience. Sat at a high top in the bar area and was serviced by Cam/Sam. Both were extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. My husband and I enjoyed EVERY single bite of our dinner. Will definitely be back.

Sharon R.

Yelp
Restaurant 17 will forever hold a special place in my heart. It's so cozy and perfect for any occasion. The view is amazing year round. The food is outstanding and perfectly plated. The service is always so great and the servers are very professional.

Mike Y.

Yelp
The view was decent, Both burgers were flavorless and somewhat dry. Not worth the drive, there are better places for burger. Would not recommend this place.

Emily W.

Yelp
Beautiful view and delicious food. The perfect place for a date night. Dani was extremely friendly and helpful.

Karen C.

Yelp
The food was good and the view is lovely. My husband and I visited while staying in the Bat Cave, NC area for vacation. The service was clumsy. Our waiter wore a mask, and only one glove(?) He kept touching his mask the whole time with his glove whenever he spoke to us. Sometimes he kept the mask below his nose when he spoke to us. He put down cutlery with his ungloved hand. We had an early reservation. A large party began to arrive not too far from our table. These guests did not wear masks on the way to their table and would yell out to their friends while walking by our table, showering us with their droplets and aerosols.

Kay C.

Yelp
Good goodness this place is delicious! Definitely worth the drive from Greenville. We had the shrimp and grits and osso buco both dishes were incredible.

Emily P.

Yelp
I'm fond of this elegant farm to table restaurant and have enjoyed a few dinners here. They have a unique offering of delicious cocktails that make you want to come back again and again because they can't be sampled in one visit! Highly recommend the Nicolas Sage. Food is Devine and service is first class (especially if you get Noah!)

Charlene M.

Yelp
Very disappointing meal on Thanksgiving. Sides were good, salad good, bread was cold, meat was sparse and cold, and gravy was cold. Desserts were just out of a box and cut, could have been Mrs. Smith's. Not overwhelming at all and not homemade or even bakery quality. The location is beautiful, wonderful venue, but they need to work on keeping buffet food warm. For what we paid, I would have expected an amazing meal. Not so, three stars is really being polite.

Gregory G.

Yelp
What a beautiful restaurant with amazing views, beautiful grounds, and fantastic food. The management and staff are doing a great job of handling COVID and we couldn't be more pleased. The food is super freah, local, and a delightful gem nestled in the base of the mountains. Who would have thought TR had a treasure like this. We've actually had dinner here two nights in a row (were staying at the hotel) and their breakfast has been wonderful as well. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Our server Rik was personable and full of great knowledge about the food and the wine. Can't recommend enough.

Michael C.

Yelp
I have been here a few times on business and really don't like the food. The drinks are watered down and not made correctly. For the price you should go somewhere else. The restaurant and hotel are beautiful. Great atmosphere but bad food.

Lucy C.

Yelp
The food was just meh. Nothing to write home about honestly. The charcuterie board was nothing great. I could've done it myself at home. I got the market fish which had absolutely NO flavor at all. The "cheesecake" was a joke. No cake just a squirt of cream-bizarre and should've read so in the description. Our waiter thoroughly sucked. Never explained anything. Only came by occasionally sweating to see if everything was alright. No swerving spoons for any of the starters. When I asked for some he brought one. First and last time. Sorry-not sorry. Do better for those prices. Work on the waitstaff.

Barry P.

Yelp
First trip to the spot since La Bastide days. For restaurant week we were excited to see a participating restaurant not in downtown area so we booked it with another couple. HUGE disappointment. SERVICE: Some of the worst service ever even though it was barely half full. 25 minutes to get drinks after ordering, and we only got them when we asked AFTER the first course had been delivered. It went on throughout the night, including needing a reminder to bring leftovers to go. Now the FOOD. Course 1 - both had combo board. MENU DESCRIPTION: Chef's Selection of Meat and Cheese With Toast & Accompaniments. VERDICT: lots of nuts and crackers, 2 dollops of cheese, NO MEAT!!! Course 2 - both had a salad called Panzanella. MENU DESCRIPTION: Mixed Asian Greens, Cherry Tomatoes, Challah Bread, Red Onion, Red Peppers, Shallot Vinaigrette. VERDICT: tasty but all bread. labelled CROUTON SALAD by Lisa. After 2 courses, #deathbygluten Course 3 - I had the short ribs, Lisa the ribeye medium rare.VERDICT: the short ribs and grits were excellent. the ribeye was a big piece of gristle and barely cooked. Sending it back wasn't going to get rid of the sinewy stuff. When course 3 was cleared, Lisa mentioned that the ribeye was inedible. We turned down dessert saying we were full. Then to apologize for the ribeye, they brought assorted popsicles. Just what you need after you turn down dessert! Then we got the check and they didn't remove the ribeye from the bill.... The other couple we were with were regulars there so I didn't make a fuss but in retrospect I should have. "Worst $100+ dinner we've ever had." The 1 star was for the new decor. .

Robert F.

Yelp
Reasonable prices and great food are the reason we are going back to this establishment. The staff are very friendly and service oriented.

Eva J.

Yelp
Excellent all around! We just moved to TR from Miami, FL. We wanted to take a close up look at Hotel Dominque and thought trying out Restaurant 17 would be a great way! Plus we are foodies. First off... What a stunning view of the mountains! You will feel as if you're in Tuscany! They had a nice wine selection. And thumbs up for having Tito's Vodka - my husband's favorite! The food was fabulous! We loved the Peach Salad. Don't miss it! The almonds were so good as was the dressing. For main entrees he had the Carolina Beef Taglio and I went for the Mountain Trout Piccata! Both were superb! The pesto drizzled on the beef was a lovely touch. The trout comes straight out of the Saluda River - fresh and perfectly cooked with a delicious lemony orzo side and squash. For dessert we ventured to try the olive oil cake - wow! Do not miss it if you want something lite yet satisfyingly sweet. Perfect with an espresso or macchiato. Only thing we did not enjoy was the beet and burrata snack. The burrata was dry - more like a mozzarella. The dressing was subpar. This dish has potential. The service was excellent. Our waitress Hannah was delightful. Will definitely return and looking forward to inviting visiting friends and family. Ask for an outside table. The view and ambiance will not disappoint.

Brad H.

Yelp
OUTSTANDING! One problem with Yelp is that there is not a 6 star rating. I would rate Restaurant 17 at six stars... Service was great. I say on occasion that the staff should treat the guests like the owners. That's the type of service that we were given. The place is romantic, modern with some lit blown glass lighting that changes colors slowly. It overlooks the Blue Ridge Mountains with just stunning views... There is a lot of glass on the mountain side so views are easily shared by everyone. There is outside seating if you are so inclined, and there is an upstairs which must have even better views. We met another couple for dinner. All four of us chose a strawberry salad to start with. I'm not a big salad lover and I tend to get bored with salad. This was, I have to say, an interesting salad. It was creative combination of various flavors and textures... SO, I wish I had paid more attention to just what was in it, but you are just going to have to take my word. As I spent time talking with my wife and friends, I was savoring every bight of this salad, something that I seldom do. Main courses varied by person. I saw a large ribeye delivered with nice looking small potatoes, duck confit for my wife which she thought was delicious, and shrimp and grits for me. The shrimp dish was great. Shrimp and grits is one of my favorite meals, and this particular one had some of the best grits I have ever tasted. Desert was two strawberry shortcakes in a jar with pistachio ice-cream on top. There were warm strawberries in a sauce in a large jar, with a shortcake floating above the mix and that was topped with ice-cream. I've never seen it done this way. It was a great desert. Throughout the meal service was perfect. The manager stopped by to talk. The property manager stopped by also great to learn bit about the property and it's owners. We were treated like royalty. I will go back.

Mathew S.

Yelp
The wifey and I dined at restaurant17 (long story short I asked her to marry me here and we spent part of our honeymoon at their Inn -- but then it was called La Bastide). I had a cocktail made with basil hayden bourbon maraschino liqueur, bruto americano, coffee syrup with a luxardo cherry. She had a fancy margarita. First course we had a cheese board, Korean wings, and pork belly toast (this was the standout). For the main we had lemon cured halibut (we agreed this was the best thing we ate) and a flank steak. Third we had a blueberry donut with a lemon basil glaze and peanut butter and chocolate tort. It was all tasty and you can't beat the views out there.

Jake J.

Yelp
Went here for my birthday and had a fantastic dinner. Highly recommended! Ask for truffles!!

Tommy M.

Yelp
We went to paella night on a Tuesday and sat outside. The food and service was fantastic. We will Definitely go back. Restaurant 17 is a hidden gem minutes from Greenville!
