Restaurant an der Dominsel

Beautiful restaurant right by the lake with magnificent view. Everything is super clean and tidy. The food is OK. The Rote Beete soup is quite salty. The most expensive appetizer is the Ziegenkäse and that’s two little pieces of cheese on dark bread. The celery mash was not a delight to remember, and we hardly finished the lentils. The burger was extremely average so we really wondered why it was named Dominsel-Style. Unfortunately, the restaurant is to be remembered only due to the beautiful lake and not the food. The service was ok but the waitresses are a little too serious. Especially when they gently scold some seniors just because they arrived one hour before the closing time. Actually a restaurant is “open” until the closing time and all guests must feel welcomed. If the staff is unhappy to be working on a Sunday, then the managers should consider closing the restaurant one hour earlier instead of making guests feel uncomfortable.

Beautiful building in the old part of the city. Well appointed design and atmosphere. Impeccable service for English speaking tourist to visit. The wine, dinner and dessert we delish with generous portions as well 😁 💖

We came here to eat and were unwelcome from the very first moment. The woman who seemed to be the owner or manager was giving us unfriendly looks right away. Then I checked the reviews, and it all made sense—we were foreigners. Every negative review we found was from tourists. Meanwhile, we watched her serving locals with a completely different attitude. She clearly assumed we didn’t understand German because she openly talked about us to the people at the next table—who seemed to be her friends. After exchanging whispers and glances, it was obvious they were talking about us. The food was okay, but the service was so appalling that I wouldn’t give it a single star.

The service in this place is worst I ever experienced. Middle-aged waitress showed us no respect from the second we entered. She made comments of us not only to the other waitress, but to other clients (!!!) thinking we dont understand german language. If you need to charge your phone(forbidden) or you are not a german Citizen or Maybe even her neighbour- you better find another place for you...

The food was real good and interesting mix (I had ox cheeks with celery puree - soft and gentle mix of taste). Nice design and atmosphere in the restaurant. Only 4 stars because one of the dishes felt a bit too salty

The patio was pleasant, and the wine was pretty good. The food wasn't anything mind-blowing, I had a Zander with asparagus. A bit on the pricey side.

I been there today around 18 o clock and waitress was terrible to me. I wanted to sit on one table and wasn't reserved that one . Waitress didn't let me to sit down and showed me terrible face. I didn't even wanted after that to sit just went another restaurant. Never will go such place if they treating me in that way

Certainly a nice location right at the water but they do not know that a tartar is made with raw fish not steamed and the cook is using too much Maggie (German spice ready mix base for many soups and sauces). Just not what I expected. My husband's dish was good. The kids portion of Schnitzel and pommes was rather small. So yes give it a try but dont expect too much.
