Restaurant Ancora

The restaurant is very good, the atmosphere is lovely, the waiters are friendly, the service is good and fast. The food was very delicious, big portion. I could eat gluten- and lactosefree pizza, so it was very good. The price is good. There were a lot of people in the evening, so we were lucky to have a table. Despite of it we dont have to wait for the dinner. The kitchen is great, I recommend it!! (even if you have food intolerance as well)

We had the squid, fish, and gnocchi. The first two dishes were enjoyable, but the gnocchi was too soft for our liking. Communication wasn’t an issue — the waiter spoke to us in English, which differed from some of the reviews we read. Overall, the service was fine, though I found it a little odd that we were given the cheque without asking for it.

We have gone to a group of 5 people for dinner at 9:30 pm. Upon entering, the girl has given us passage without problem because of the time. We sat down and they took a long time to bring the menu and when they brought it he told us that in 5 minutes they were closing the kitchen. We have ordered 5 dishes: 4 pizzas and a plate of pasta. They have brought us 4 plates of pizza and in the middle of the dining room the waiter has said that one of the five was going to stay without dinner, to eat from the other plates. They made us pay while we had dinner. And, finally, without having finished the dishes, they kicked us out of the restaurant. Very bad experience with the staff. But the food was good.

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious, with large portions of pizzas and salads. The prices were incredibly reasonable, making it excellent value for money. The service was fast and friendly, and the interior was cozy. Highly recommended!

From the moment our group of six (without a reservation) walked through the door, the staff greeted us with warmth and professionalism. One of the more popular restaurants in Maribor, often frequented by students. They have a huge seating area, very well lit and cosy. The menu is also quite varied - from pizza over pasta to meat and seafood - there is something for everyone, all very basic but quite tasty. Prices are around 15 euros per person, including drinks.

We arrived as a big group and nobody helped us at all or even greeted us. The lady who was our waitress was rude and you couldnt even ask a question about the food because she would just leave. I get it that not everybody speaks english but if you know that an abroad group will come why dont you send someone that knows english? The food was mid and it was nothing special. The gnocchi was so soft it melted in your mouth. The grill chicken has no taste at all, there was no seasoning on it. We ate pizza to whitch was burnt and also nothing special. There was even a problem whitch was not a big deal at all and an other lady rolled her eyes az us and furriously put the menu on our table. Why would the waters act like that i dont understand because we were polite and tried our best to communicate. The salad i think is also bad and sour and they have only one option about the dressing. They always put some stupid tomato on every food that you order. If you need help you have to shout to them because they would not even look into our eyes or ask if everything is okay.

Again and again Ancora team makes lunch with a friend or 50 people (I am a tour guide and love to bring groups) superior experience! Your squids, pizzas ... everything is delicious. Special thanks to Sandi & Alen!
