Went here for my Birthday and I will say this was a highlight meal for my trip. I had the Reindeer and my Girlfriend had the Venison. Both were very tender and did not have a strong gamey taste. Our waitress recommended we try the foraged mushrooms which were specific to the season and they were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant especially if you are looking to try different meats.

Thank you Isa for making us feel so welcome! What an eclectic restaurant with a massive collection of spirits. The restaurant is dark and romantic. Perfect for celebrating our anniversary. The reindeer steak was excellent (first time for me), the duck was also excellent as was the eggplant and the salmon. Such a lovely place.

We had a fantastic evening at Ardbeg Embassy. I ordered the reindeer, perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful, while my wife had the classic Swedish meatballs, which were rich and delicious. We also tried some craft beers, which were excellent, though this place is truly a whisky lover’s paradise. Warm atmosphere, great service, and outstanding food, highly recommended.

Google
Great vegetarian burger and mushroom starter in an otherwise meat filled menu! The burnt butter ice cream is great as well. Comes with yellow berries which are extremely sweet but have a lot of seeds. Several non alcoholic beer choices.

Google
Whisky temple, Christofer was such a nice host, wery friendly and resoureful, he gave me best souvenir and you can try whiskey from the barrel, also some limited editions, all the best from Ivan :)

Google
I can honestly say this was the very best steak I have ever had in my life. The food was absolutely fantastic and they have a large selection of drinks! The beer is only Swedish micro brews so that is nice. I got the grilled venison and it was superb!

I think I have never seen so many different bottles of alcoholics all together in my whole life. Definitely they care about it and know what they talk about. I had dinner at the bar counter cos I didn't book. It was Midsommar's Eve and only in Gamla stan I finally found open places for eating. I chose this one because it didn't seem to be crowded with clueless tourists. There were tourists, but they were "of a certain type". It is elegant but not in a classical awkward way. I had the classical meatballs with cider. The food was good and the bread? Omg I love Swedish bread. I got warm soft thick bread with salty butter. I ate it all 😅.

Google

Yelp
Everything I had here was delicious! The appetizers and butter were so fresh and flavorful. The butter melts in your mouth and the bread is sweet. The Swedish meatballs had a mix of beef, raindeer, and moose in it. It tasted great with the sauce and berries. They were also generous with the seafood dish as well. Nothing was overcooked and the soup was well seasoned.

Yelp
The outside looked very inviting for the hubby as he is an Ardbeg lover. We came in for a drink and did not try the food, but the Swedish Meatball plate looked really good. The service was great and the lady was very helpful in making recommendation for which whisky to try. We tried the Swedish Ardbeg and the Pang Pang beer. Both had a very flavorful profile and we loved the decor! Can't speak for the food but definitely would recommend drinks here.

Yelp
Didn't try any food but did come twice during our trip for the bar and the incredible selection of whiskey they have available. Bartenders are knowledgeable and helpful with providing recommendations. Prices are more reasonable than other bars not concentrated on whiskey.

Yelp
Conveniently located in the heart of Gamla Stan, this place serves pretty authentic Swedish food. We came on a Friday evening and were lucky enough to get one of the last remaining tables without a reservation. Our waiter was extremely kind to chat with us his recommendations as well as tell us about what there is to do in Stockholm. I opted for the meatballs and boy did they taste better than the ones in Ikea back in the States (no knock on them, they still have a special place in my heart). It was nicely plated and the sauce really gave the meatball some flavor. The cucumbers and lingonberries on the side were quite delicious side dishes and complemented the flavors well. I also got a Swedish cider and it smelled nice and tasted delicious. It was a ripe green apple and on the sweeter side, kind of reminding me of soju. My vegetarian friend decided for the artichoke balls and reviews were overall positive. He mentioned that the sauce was a big winner for him! Overall would totally recommending stopping by here. The atmosphere is quite nice and has that bar-vibe with the comfortableness of a sit-down restaurant. Definitely would return if I visit Stockholm again!

Yelp
We stopped in this bar for a drink not realizing what a vast variety of whiskeys they offered. The menu has 500 types of scotch offered in small quantities so you can taste several at one sitting. The waitstaff are very knowledgable. This is a great stop in Gamla Stan!

Yelp
Stumbled across this place by accident, so glad I did! Great bar, excellent selection, reasonable prices. Ludwig also gave me a terrific recommendation for a bar in Oslo. This is a "must stop" for whisky lovers visiting Stockholm.

Yelp
Loved it! Wonderful service, herring was fabulous, and very comfortable seating and cool vibe

Yelp
Excellent. We had the reindeer leg, game meatballs, and cod. Everything was outstanding and it was probably one of the best meals we have had in a long time.

Yelp
We stumbled on this place in old town Stockholm. It was a truly fantastic dinner. The room is elegant but not stuffy. We were lucky to get a seat by the window as it was later in the evening. The waiter William was friendly and professional. We ordered several apps: a creamy soup, herring three ways, deer carpaccio, potato dumpling entree and a braised deer shank. The bread basket with two types of bread was better than any restaurant we have been to in Stockholm (Always a great sign of quality). Each of the menu items were delicious, beautifully presented and different from the others. It was an important credible delight to come acrosssuch a fabulous restaurant. The bill was US$150 which seemed quite reasonable given we had more than enough food for the four of us. Highly recommend this hidden gem. They have whiskey samplers / tastings too.

Yelp
Service, menu, food. Wow! So a long long time ago we came here. A different restaurant but similar theme, but the experience here was top shelf! The menu is small but deliciously varied. Among our group we had reindeer, char, reindeer/venison meatballs and moose steak. Not a complaint at the table just silence! You know that means it's good! I had the meat balls with a potato mash and lingonberry relish. Just incredible. The mix of meats was so flavorful and rich and the mash was perfectly prepared. Of course I'd put lingonberries on just about anything - BTW its a moral imperative to have lingonberries if you're in Sweden! They're yummily sweet and tart. I love them. I married all this goodness with a Gotland Wisby Kloster pale ale. Perfect! A great selection of beers, Wine and spirits - including an impressive assortment of scotch! My desert was an Ardbeg sherry cask - 2 cl please! Yum. A superb dining experience I highly recommend!

Yelp
My husband and I were exploring old town and needed a bite to eat. We stumbled upon ardbeg embassy since I saw a sign for moose filet. I had moose on my list of things to try while in Stockholm. Upon entering we were seated in the dining section of the restaurant. The front part is the bar only area. Our waiters was very helpful when I explained my food intolerances issues. I had previously translated into Swedish for better understanding. He showed the chef and said they would have no problem making my meal dairy and gluten free. I ordered the moose filet which came with potatoes, apple chutney and what appeared to be some pickled green beans. The moose filet was cooked to about medium rare ( what I would call the American standard on meat cooking scale). I really enjoyed it and it was tasty. My husband ordered the duck and enjoyed his meal. The meal was pricey but I wouldn't expect any different given it's a highly tourist traffic area and the fact it is a game meat.

Yelp
I love Ardbeg, so I'm a bit biased, but I also think that this is one of the better restaurants we ate at on our trip. We had the moose filet and the Chuck roast burger w/ chevre and honey. Both were pretty great, and not overly expensive I'm context. For the drink lovers, rest assured that they have an amazing scotch and beer list, plus enough wines to keep those people happy. Get a dram of the 'Cask X' and watch them ladel it straight from the barrel!

Yelp
I stopped here because of the sign outside advertising game meatballs. Intrigued I decided to give it a try and I am glad I did. The game meatballs were really good. They also have a nice selection of local beers and a really nice whisky list. I was mildly impressed with their whisky list but being in Sweden I tried a 3 year old local whisky. It was peaty but tasted pretty good for a young whisky. Atmosphere was really nice and the bar staff was really friendly. I would definitely stop in here again.

Yelp
Lovely meal in the Gamla Stan. Scandinavian fare. We had salmon salad and pickled herring and a berry pie for dessert. St lunch! Quaint setting. Fresh herbs. Loved the farm to table vibe. Good service.

Yelp
An update for Yelp: it does open on Sundays in summer. At first we had our doubts for it was quite gloomy from the outside. But all the dishes we picked even the bread was excellent! Swedish game meatballs, moose steak, moose carpaccio, duck, hamburger and desserts were exceptional. Would definitely reccomend. 150$ for party of 4.

Yelp
We arrived late in Stockholm on a Monday and were starving - it was challenging to find anything open. Not only were they open the food was great and the service was phenomenal. The meatballs and the leek soup were particularly tasty! And they have THE most amazing whisky selection!! I highly recommend Ardbeg

Yelp
It is NOT closed on sundays. Went today and had the game meatballs with some scotch. The single malts are a bit pricey. About $30 USD for one ounce of a decent single malt.

Yelp
The Ardbeg Embassy is a little gem in the heart of Stockholm. It's known for its extensive beer menu and traditional Swedish dishes. When my friends and I went for lunch, there were only a few other people there so we made nice with our server who gave us some recommendations for places to party around town. We enjoyed some brewskies over some Swedish meatballs, lamb, and some other traditional dishes. The Ardbeg is pricey. As if Scandinavia isn't expensive already, this place is definitely on the high end when it comes to pub food. The atmosphere is pretty cool. Kinda like being in an underground cellar. Since they're known for beers, I suggest coming here to drink and eating elsewhere.

Yelp
We were on a quest to find pea soup on a Thursday. Had given up and then we walked past Ardbeg in Gamla Stan, Sweden on our way to find something else. How lucky we were! We ordered the pea soup, and it was very good. It was served with mustard to add to the soup for your taste, and a small sausage of wild boar and a piece of smoked pork. Both of which were excellent and with an extraordinary taste. The restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere and waiters are very attentive. For the whisky lovers, this is certainly the place to be. Never seen such an extended menu of different whiskies. Would def recommend this place, but not if you are very hungry! The portions are smaller than most places and the prices are high.

Yelp
Herring that tastes good; diffident service Wanted as authentic a meal as I could get on my last night in Stockholm and decided to go back here (it had closed at 9 p.m. the previous day when I perused the menu; odd, since every other restaurant in the Gamla Starn was open). The servers were rather disinterested and the whiskey-infused butter that came with the bread was not very tasty. That's not a complaint from me as I seldom put butter on my bread. To go totally native I had elk steak which was quite pleasant and three herring dishes as an appetizer. Amazingly the "traditional" one was quite tasty. If you want an authentic meal in pleasant surroundings, this is the place.

Yelp
great food!!! the herring sampler appetizer was fantastic and i had the wild game meatballs...with somehow the best mashed potatoes in the world. of course with lingonberries and pickled cucumber. if you find yourself in Stockholm...

Yelp
I took my Scottish boyfriend to Ardbeg Embassy for a change of pace from fine dining. We were surprised by the good "pub" food here. I had artic char and sav blanc for wine. My boyfriend had the mix of meats and some beer. We liked it as it was a nice change of pace from the great fine dining that we had on our trip.

Yelp
It's ok. Go there for drinks if you want to have scotch, they've got a good collection. Our group didn't have a reservation but was seated right away. I didn't notice much as far as food choices and got a burger. It was actually pretty good! My husband got the Swedish meatballs and those weren't that great! I was surprised since it's Sweden... you'd think that they'd have it down. Steer clear of the lobster stew thing - that other review is accurate! It's gross.

Sophia S.

Yelp
Excellent food! The cod here was to die for. Decent wine selection too. Will definitely revisit the next time I am in Stockholm!

Lois K.

Yelp
Catered towards tourists and people with poor taste. The food is overpriced for what you get. I ordered the lobster soup because I wasn't too hungry and what came out was a thin watery soup with literally nothing in it. It tasted like overly salted broth with a little cream in it that turned my stomach. They garnished it with a single scallop and 2 pieces of puffed crackers. I had to return it because I knew I would throw up if I tried to consume more than 1 spoonful. Rest of the food the group ordered was mediocre. And service was not good-they did not refund the soup. I would give 0 stars if I could. 1 Star goes towards the scotch my husband got. I would recommend passing on the food and choosing something better. Unless you're wanting to go here because of the novelty of the name or for scotch.

Yelp
Went there with some friends that like a good whisky. Excellent selection of malts and some very good beers. Right in the heart of the old city, good place to hang out and enjoy some good drinks
