Very good casse-croute. Excellent gravy, a good amount of cheese, and fair prices. Took off one star because my fries were not cooked enough, they were not crispy. This might be a one-off though. The workers were kind and were able to serve in English. Cash only.

The food was very good. Especially the hamburgers. However I’m giving a low rating because the service was horrific. The woman who was taking my order was extremely rude to me once she discovered I do not speak French. When she took my order she was writing everything down in her pad until I got to the word ‘relsih’ She then threw her pen and pad ask told the young man working there that she could not understand a word I’m saying and to take the order for her. This was once she already wrote down everything I had said. If I asked her something she would roll her eyes at me and huff and puff before giving me what I had asked for, clearly understanding what I had said. This woman needs to understand when you work in the service industry in Quebec that it is a bilingual provide and you will get costumers that speak English and/or French. No matter what language someone speaks to you in these people are giving you their hard earned money and should be treated with respect. Losing a costumer is not worth your disdain towards them. Hope she treats people better in the future.

Classic little casse croûte that has been around for at least the 22 years I’ve been coming here. Everything is reasonably priced and has been for years. The poutine is well executed and my kids love the pogos.

My family has lived during summers down the road from here for generations, Au Casseau is THE BEST casse croute around. Very friendly ladies run it and we like to support them. Great roadside food, you can tell by the traffic parked while customers wait .

Too expensive!!for what you get

It's was a bit long. The hot dog were also a bit dry. But over all its ok. Seems clean.

Over priced mediocre hotdogs, poutine was good. Only accepts cash.

Friends have their cottage nearby so Au Casseau is a must-visit every time we're here. Apparently the owners have been trying to sell the business for a few years, so all of our recent visits feel momentous, like it could be our last time we're tasting "true" Au Casseau. And what a taste it is. Could these be the best burgers and poutine in the Laurentiens? For me, they are. I've eaten here at least a dozen times and it's otally reliable and unchangeable. All-dressed cheeseburgers are those perfect tiny ones that pack a punch. Relish, onions, lettuce, mustard, it's all you need. The fries, cut fresh, are out of this world, perfect gravy, tons of cheese. The régulier (size) always leaves me a bit too full, but I can't stop it's so good. Regular fries are a good option, but it's hard to say no to poutine when it's staring you in the face. Cans of pop come ice cold and are good to tamp down the salt. Cash only. Seasonal. Odd opening hours. Well worth the drive if you're nearby... you might see me there!

Petit casse croute sur le bord de la route. J'ai goûté à la poutine et c'est assez bon avec petites patates et fromage en grain frais. Little snack in side of the road, poutine are good with small fries, fresh cheese curd and good sauce.

A classic roadside casse-croûte that serves up beautiful little burgers and poutine. We have friends who have a family cottage near to here, so every time we visit a trip to Au Casseau is part of the the ritual. Maybe it's the vacation vibe we happen to be tuned into, but this place is near to perfect. Quebec has a lot of these little places and many of them deliver the goods, but this one is close to our hearts.
