Google
really nice food, friendly staff. a bit slow service and it is NOT a vegetarian restaurant, as they serve real chicken which was a bit odd

2 main courses only and only one of them vegetarian; I heard about great flavour but I have to disagree.

I knew from the outside that this would be a charming place with delicious food, lovingly prepared and served. And that's exactly what it is.

Yelp
I have cycled past Au Clair de Lune many times when heading to town from campus. From outside it promised an alternative dining scene, as confirmed by its presence on the happycow database. It's pretty tucked away, on a street just off notre dame which seems pretty dedicated to associations, fairtrade shops and restaurants with good ethics. Au clair de lune is an organic restaurant, boasting vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Inside there are not many places to sit, and all are usually taken at lunch time.. It's a popular place! Apparently during the warmer summer months there is seating available outside, around the back of the building. The interior is very rustic with many interesting eco-friendly seeming decorations, many of which are recycled. There are few choices and the opening times are limited (11.45-2.30 monday-saturday, evenings closed apart from group bookings) but this restaurant wins in that it is ethical and boasts good quality ingredients and imaginative preparations. It is therefore hardly surprising that Au Clair de Lune is popular and requires a reservation. I ordered the only remaining vegetarian option alongside 3 of my friends, the other one ordered fish cooked in coconut milk. The vegetarian dish consisted of a slice of polenta topped with ratatouille, roasted pumpkin, served with a salad (too bitter for me, I didn't like it so my boyfriend finished it off), a lentil puree, hummus, red cabbage. It was delicious, though I could have easily have eaten more. We all opted for the pudding, three of us taking the gluten free chestnut flour chocolate fondant with a hint of orange, the other taking the lemon tart, as recommended by the chef. Apparently there was a game, "guess the secret ingredient". None of us could guess, and it turned out that it was tarragon. It was nice to have a little dining challenge and some friendly none-invasive interaction with the manager of the restaurant towards the end of our meal. The prices were very reasonable, I payed 12 euros for the main and pudding. Recommended.
