Fantastic food at Aguas Calientes, as recommended by our guide when we toured Sacred Valley.
Came to stay at the town for Machu Picchu (of course!), and ended up being pleasantly surprised by the food. It is in stark contrast to other restaurants catering to making a quick buck from the tourists. It is a fine restaurant that just happens to be in a tourist town. I had steamed trout while I friend had the alpaca steak both are excellent. The house wine is serviceable, and the wait time for food can be a tad long but not too bad, but the atmosphere is perfect for unwinding after seeing the specular Machu Picchu, drenched in isolated downpour.
If I were to come back to this town, I will definitely be here for dinner again.
