Located in the red light district, but you wouldn't think it. It's hidden in a private garden that isolates you from the bustle of the streets. I took the 4 course with wine pairings and it was more than enough. All dishes were very good to great, but without any of them being incredible. Wine pairings were all white and all on point, and service was quite good. Would definitely recommend this place for a quiet, delicious break from the Amsterdam madness.

Google
Great restaurant tucked away on a side alley just outside of the red light district. Good atmosphere, great service, we did the set menu, and everything we had was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend!

Google
Nice restaurant with a nice high class surprise 3-5 course menu and good wines alongside. You'll end up at around 100€ per person including drinks and tip. I think it's worth it.

Google
Delicious contemporary cuisine and nice staff. Good wine and jazz. You must go :-)

Google
Excuisite, well combined dishes and very friendly unpretentious service. Personally, I didn't like the dark, sort of stylish but not so stylish atmosphere. But the place is a hidden gem, in a quiet backyard, right in the middle of the redlight district.

An quiet oasis in a middle of Red Light district. Not cheap but in our opinion was worth the money. Nice friendly service. Every course was delicious and beautifully presented. Would visit again.

Google
Phenomenal dining experience! Everything I ordered was beautifully presented, perfectly executed, and absolutely delicious. The only thing better than the fantastic food was the phenomenal service. Like the other waiters there, the waiter who had primary responsibility for my table was courteous, efficient and professional. But, he was also extremely warm and helpful and delightfully personable. Just stellar. So excellent. So welcoming. Very impressive and truly memorable service. What a sweet guy. I asked him to serve a different glass of wine with each course, his choice. I couldn’t have been happier. Truly one of the top dining experiences of my life.

Absolutely brilliant and utterly amazing cuisine experience.

Yelp
One of the best meals I have ever eaten! Very elegant and inventive food in a lovely space.

Yelp
Quaint little place tucked away in an alley in the Red Light District. Excellent food - fantastic service. We hadn't realized there were only set menus, and didn't want a heavy meal tonight so we opted for the 4-course meal. The dip for the bread was delicious (garlic, anchovies and some other yummy ingredients); we were a tad concerned about the lamb tartare (as Americans) but we said grace and hoped that because it was so perfect we wouldn't get ill from it. Every dish was just as amazing as the next. We then had seared tuna with mussels; pork medallions and finished with panna cotta. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Fantastic food and atmosphere, excellent service and wine selection. It is a small intimate place so make sure you make reservation. I had the 4 course dinner here and it was fresh, prepared very well and wonderful aromas. It was also light, various levels of complexity based on the dish and very appetizing to the eye and pallet. It is difficult to find, since it has a small sign in the front. They do have an outdoor area that makes the restaurant a little bigger in the summer. The chef prepares what is in season so that makes this place even more special. A great find and experience in Amsterdam.

Yelp
Looked around for this place for 45 minutes. I read the reviews and was excited to go there. I finally located it. It was very difficult to find because it was down an alley close to the red district. When we got there it was closed. We knocked on the door and a man and women answered. They looked as if they had been up all night. They had a rugged appearance. They told us to leave n an impolite manner. I asked when the restaurant was to open and he said "Never!"

Yelp
Decadent and wonderful. Possibly the best meal I have ever had. Everything was just perfect. Each course was impeccably prepared and presented. The wine was just as lovely and the company. I cannot wait to return. Good luck finding it!

Yelp
Spectacular meal. 5 of us gathered last night at this hidden gem for our 1st meal there. We had no idea what to expect. The 6 courses offered were explained to us(no menu needed) and according to our wine aficionado their list had good choices. Rather than describe each course I will say we ate every morsel on our plates including lamb tartare( my 1st!) and cuttlefish"pasta" and a pork tenderloin main dish. The panne cotta was sublime and the cherry on the sundae was an after dinner chocolate truffle- amazing! The restaurant is small and very quiet. Only 1 server who was very attentive. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
My son and i had the 5 course meal. We had skipped breakfast and lunch and came in with the munchies. Best meal i've had in my life! Every placement of the ingredients is thoughtfully placed, the flavor combinations are a treat. Worth every Euro :-)

Yelp
This place is fantastic! Slightly hidden down an alley in the Red Light District, it's worth the search! They take reservations and speak english very well (doesn't everyone in Amsterdam?) It's small when you walk in (I've heard there is additional seating upstairs) and very charming with a warm ambiance. It's prix fixe (around 55 euros/pp) with two choices available for each course. We decided to order one of each to try everything offered. The food was very good and met our expectations. The waitstaff was incredibly welcoming and courteous, and VERY passionate about the food. You could tell in the way they lovingly described everything on each dish. We let them pair each of our dishes with different wines - they did a great job and picked very reasonably priced wines. We got engaged here and the staff was quick to run over with champagne and congratulations (they didn't know beforehand). I had read that lots of chefs and celebrities come here (we saw Carla Hall from Top Chef) and it's not surprising given the quality and discretion of the restaurant. Worth a visit if you are in Amsterdam!

Yelp
For a special meal in Amsterdam go here. The staff make you feel very special. We sat on the second floor and were able to see the masters at work in the kitchen. Had the 4 course dinner each bite was amazing. Do book in advance.

Yelp
An exceptional dining experience everything was a hit. An oasis of a Michelin starred restaurant, in a historic building , one of the four oldest in Amsterdam. A meal of this type and quality and service would be twice as expensive in NY. Go, go, go!

Eric F.

Yelp
Prix fixe menu underwhelmed me. Service was excellent though and strange location off the red light district. They accommodate our schedule well. Based on service I increase the star by one...

Shawn S.

Yelp
Food was amazing. The service team was attentive, friendly and fun! The ambiance of the location was perfect for a romantic evening with my wife. Love this place.

Harold R.

Yelp
For a Type A person, leaving all the courses to the chef is daunting. But the result was a mind blowing mix of delicious textures and flavors my wife and I will remember for a long time. You wouldn't expect this gem down a little alley hidden in the heart of the red light district in Amsterdam but there it was, and oh, was it worth the visit!

Yelp
A destination restaurant. We admit it. We selected this restaurant based on an Anthony Bourdain showcase. There is an indoor and outdoor seating area although, despite it being the peak of summer, it was way to cool to be outside. The menu is a set of 3 courses, either appetizer, soup, entrée or appetizer entrée desert. The recipes were very original . . . the soup was especially great. Service was attentive and interactive. With two drinks, the bill came to €140.

Antonio P.

Yelp
Top notch! Was here with work people, had a great time! Food was amazing! Did the 6 course. Service was fantastic.

Mitch L.

Yelp
Amazing experience. This is definitely a destination restaurant. Food and service were all 5-star. No menu, you just request how many courses you want, 3, 4, 5, etc. Each course was interesting and amazing. I would have never tried lamb carpaccio, but really enjoyed it. Everything was cooked perfectly. We asked our waiter to recommend a wine with each course, and his choices were spot on. Dessert was amazing and beautifully set on the plate. Whoever runs the kitchen is doing what he loves, not merely working at a job...and it shows. Highly recommended if you in Amsterdam looking for a 5-star place. Michelin star quality.

Yelp
Okay....total delay in this post....yep, like a THREE YEAR delay....but after tirelessly recommending this place to everyone who travels to Amsterdam...I figured I should actually type something up to make it official. I remember walking up to the "address" for this restaurant and thinking that my friends had set me up for a practical joke...something along the lines of "Let's see if we can get Kim to walk down a graffiti riddled alleyway in the Red Light District"....well, I am certainly glad that I elected to be brave and enter the unknown. The service at this establishment is beyond compare. Their suggestions for wine pairings is impeccable. The food is delectable; from the heartier plates to the vegetarian offerings! Now.....if only I can find my way back to the alleyway sooner versus later...a definite repeat experience!

Yelp
Excellent restaurant and great food and service. I was there alone. I had the monk fish starter which was light and super tasty. I followed it with the quail ravioli which was out of this world. I then had the risotto and the cheese plate. All drowned with tasty wines and a port wine with the cheese. Will return for sure. Expensive but it's nice to treat yourself.

Yelp
Best meal, over the top service and off the path. Don't second guess go and enjoy an amazing meal.

Yelp
My wife and I celebrated our 15th anniversary here on the recommendation of my local business contact, and it was fabulous. A bit hard to find, and you may think that you are going to stumble upon a sex show instead of a white-linen restaurant, but don't be afraid to pull back the curtain. The setting is intimate (3-5 tables each on three floors), our server was fantastic and really made us feel welcome and at home, and the food was all first rate. On the expensive side (225 euros for two with drinks), but well worth it.

Yelp
Insanely good meal. Sea bass is unbelieavable. Best kept secret in Amsterdam

Yelp
I brought my girlfriend here on a date and the experience was great. I would definitely come here soon. Everything was perfect, what we ordered was simply delicious and well prepared, the service was excellent, couldn't have asked for anything better than what we got. We really enjoyed it here.

Yelp
My favorite meal in Amsterdam - very special - tucked away place with lovely, friendly, and accommodating staff - my son and I had the 4 course dinner with wine pairing, there is no traditional menu - the staff tells you details about what they are offering for the evening and you choose your courses - I trusted that all would be delicious from this chef and tried quite a few things I wouldn't normally have ordered (& might not order again from a lesser restaurant). Everything was spectacular - if you enjoy and appreciate fine food this should not be missed!

Ellen C.

Yelp
So happy we found this amazing boutique restaurant down a small alley in the red light district. Prefixed menu with flavors that are undescribable and presentation is beautiful! Simple and elegant with wait staff friendly and explaining in detail the food that has been a specially prepared for you. Chef and owner has been operating for several years and obviously very proud of his great accomplishment. A must visit restaurant when you're in Amsterdam if you're looking for something really special!

Yelp
We absolutely loved this place. The food was fantastic, the service was terrific, and the location was ironic. At first, we were quite skeptical because of the location (it's smack in the red light district), but once you walk through the seemingly seedy arches, you are transformed to a very cute, chic, and warm atmosphere. My co-workers had recommended it when they were on a business trip and I'm so glad they did. We ordered almost everything on the menu (which changes every several weeks) and highlights were all the fish and assorted seafood dishes. The only disappointment was our lamb (but by the time you're reading this, the menu has probably already changed). Wine list was pretty extensive and the recommendations were good. Will be back. I think about $75 US per person - our bill ended up close to $200US (with more than enough wine).

Yelp
We turned up for a reservation made 5 weeks ago and confirmed (May 25) to find a sign saying the restaurant was closed tonight with no reason provided. This is extremely shoddy given that they had our details and it completely ruined our evening plans. Try Jaspers instead; we had dinner there last night and it was superb. And they honored our reservation.

Yelp
We walked from the Old Towne a block into the redlight district and then down an ivy-lined alleyway. The restaurant was in the rear. The vibe was low-key and cool, although a raucous group celebrating the opening of a new business livened things up. The food was excellent, the staff member who was serving us (hesitant to describe him as a waiter) came over, pulled up a chair, and described the dishes to us. There was no printed menu. We made our selections, and then waited. The food came out at its own pace (leisurely), but was in each case delicious. Quail egg on tuna carpaccio was unusual, but spectacular, and the chicken breast with foie gras excellent. We had skate, as well, and a perfectly cooked chocolate soufflé for dessert. A very enjoyable evening. We were shocked by the price; it was not inexpensive, but not as expensive as we thought it might be due to the level of personal service. A very fair value for an interesting experience and high quality food, but don't expect to be in and out quick.

Yelp
Accessible, delicious, friendly, unique. It was a close race, but this meal has become the #1 meal we have ever eaten. Absolutely worth the money.

Sonya S.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Every bite was delicious and there were many flavor explosions and delightful surprises! Dinner is served as a 3 or 4 course meal (your choice). It was $55 per person for 3 courses tonight. We enjoyed the amuse buche, bread with olive oil, tuna appetizer, cod main coarse, and strawberry tart SO much!!! The servers are also very knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommended to anyone!

Rob M.

Yelp
Very eclectic, wonderfully presented, well paired for wine. Great dining experience. I was very surprised at the knowledge of the waiter. The portions are small, but four courses for the prix fixe were perfect.
