We walked from the Old Towne a block into the redlight district and then down an ivy-lined alleyway. The restaurant was in the rear. The vibe was low-key and cool, although a raucous group celebrating the opening of a new business livened things up. The food was excellent, the staff member who was serving us (hesitant to describe him as a waiter) came over, pulled up a chair, and described the dishes to us. There was no printed menu. We made our selections, and then waited. The food came out at its own pace (leisurely), but was in each case delicious. Quail egg on tuna carpaccio was unusual, but spectacular, and the chicken breast with foie gras excellent. We had skate, as well, and a perfectly cooked chocolate soufflé for dessert. A very enjoyable evening. We were shocked by the price; it was not inexpensive, but not as expensive as we thought it might be due to the level of personal service. A very fair value for an interesting experience and high quality food, but don't expect to be in and out quick.
