The restaurant had a great atmosphere, however this is about where my compliments end. I ordered the buffalo chicken burger. This burger had far too much chicken so it was difficult to eat and it would fall apart, the chicken was also cold which is less than ideal. The fries were hardly seasoned and seemed to go on forever (which is great if you are a bland fry enthusiast). The lemonade was an interesting flavour and quite strong, but not bad. Would not recommend, however you may have a better experience if you order something else, or are in a better mood than I was after a 3 hour train from Montréal.

Great restaurant walking distance from the old Quebec area. Big menu with lots to choose from. Staff members welcoming and friendly. Food is fresh, hot and tasty. Highly recommended burgers!

Google
Our waiter was kind and the burger was absolutely incredible. Great portion sizes and the prices are great for the quality of the food. I highly recommend!

Google
Friendly and welcoming staff. Food was delicious. The smoked meat poutine was great - portion size was perfect and not so thick with gravy that it left you feeling ill. Highly recommend.

Google
Our concierge at Hotel des Coutellier recommended we come here for a later afternoon meal. We'd traveled from Maryland and were very hungry. Chez Victor did not disappoint! The atmosphere was homey and lovely and the service was quick and friendly. We enjoyed some local beers and got delicious burgers. The server even gave us a free side of poutine, which was the first time we'd had it-delicious! I could have eaten here many more times, but we had so many other restaurants to try in Quebec. We will definitely come back here if we have the opportunity to visit Quebec City again!

Google
I went here for dinner during my Quebec city trip with my friend. We went here on recommendation of someone. The restaurant have a very nice ambience. Staff is super friendly. We were very hungry when we got here. We started with fried pickles. They were good. My friend ordered one of the poutines with meat. I tried the vegeterian gnocchi one. I think it was confusion on my part that I thought as it is poutine it will be fries mixed with gnocchi and other toppings. Overall it tasted good. Serving size was pretty big as well. I was not able to finish it. Overall experience was nice.

Good burger place and reasonnable price

Google
Had the vegan burger. I’m a vegan so I’ve tried a lot of burgers. This one was average, thats’s why the 3 stars. Considering the price, they could’ve definitely incremented this burger better. It was very simple and the patty was almost creamy, weird texture. The picles there roughly cut, one of them was a few inches thick, too thick. The vegan mayo is interesting, tastes like indian food. I’d come here if you don’t have any other option. But if you have another option I would try that. Anyways, service was great and the restaurant is very beautiful. It was a Monday evening so the restaurant wasn’t full and my burger arrived in literally 5 minutes!

Yelp
During our meal, our party of six had four "best we've ever had"s. One person had the best burger, one had the best gluten free bun, one had the best poutine, and one had the best tofu they've ever had. If that's not a ringing endorsement, you're not the type of person to be convinced by Google Maps reviews anyways.

Yelp
I just went for a burger and it was very good. Cute place, very good service. Entrance on the left side of the building from the main street.

Ike R.

Yelp
Each burger is unique and flavorful! Very nice service and great atmosphere. Great Putine! Lots of choices for burger types and diet restrictions. It is our favorite place so far in Canada!

Phyllis S.

Yelp
Great spot for a great sandwich and poutine among other things! Fast service and great vibe overall.

Yelp
The staff were really friendly and they went out of their way to speak English!! Chez Victor is a nice pub and has a great vibe. Charlotte was our server, and she was amazing. This is what makes customers want to come back. We started off with the Fried pickles with spicy Ketchup. The pickles were not greasy and were delicious. My wife ordered the tuna salad which was fantastic. I had the LA BETE burger which was perfectly cooked and was great. The fries were hot and crispy. This is a fantastic pub / restaurant where the local go and we will sure to be coming back.

Yelp
Burgers are just okay, my hotel recommended this to me but I am not going to rave about it like they did. Tasty burger yes, but simple. Too simple. The poutine is decent and liked the gravy and crispy fries, except the gravy gave me a bit of fits later. Maybe they added just a bit too much sugar. No wonder when I walked in I was the only patron for two hours. I also felt the staff was a bit curt with me because I did not order any alcohol. Suck it up buttercup. I do drink, but sometimes it is good to walk home with a clear mind than having to stumble in an unfamiliar area where I am clearly vulnerable. That is why I am giving this a three star review instead of four.

Yelp
A very busy night and clearly understaffed this was not a good presentation. Our burgers took forever and mine was burnt and hidden under a pile of lettuce. My husband said his was dry as a rock. The staff seemed nice but we saw everyone sitting without food for over an hour. Oh well hope you're experiencing a better meal.

Yelp
Great spot! They have such a diverse burger and poutine menu. We enjoyed La Béte, Poutine Régulaire et La Baquette Salad....the burger was a top 3 of all time - AAA beef, bacon jam plus I can't remember what else but Lord have mercy! The salad was a really unique combination with perfect dressing - citrus and maybe ginger? I don't know but outstanding. The poutine was spot on...most places ruin poutine but it was great. Topped off with scotch ale - La chaga on tap and the very best hostess/food guide - Emmanuelle? My spelling is wrong but she was great and didn't punish me for my horrendous French! Merci Chez Victor!

Yelp
My husband and I came here tonight specifically to try vegan poutine, and it was amazing. We split the vegan poutine and Veganator burger, and the burger was one of the best I've had. We might be back!

Yelp
We just stopped in during the late afternoon for a bite of the famous French Canadian poutine and man, it was so good. I personally don't like poutine, but this may have converted me into a fan. Great service from both waiters we had and super fast/accommodating.
google avatar

Pat B.

Yelp
A simple delicious spot if you would like to enjoy a burger and fries. The burger choices are fun. The fries that come with the burgers are beyond plentiful and hand cut. Mine came with this specially seasoned Mayo which was so good I wanted more. We sat outside which is nothing special but made us feel safer during this never ending pandemic. Our waitress was super friendly.
google avatar

John S.

Yelp
Get the smokey ketchup as your side condiment. Just do it. Trust me. Thank me later. I personally got the Le Canotier burger, which was amazing by itself. The fries were decent until the ketchup was introduced; as someone who traditionally doesn't like ketchup, it was genuinely one of the greatest sauces I've ever had, and was closer to a pesto consistency. Overall very good bang for the buck.

Yelp
From the moment we entered the restaurant we could tell it was a bit understaffed. We were seated once we were noticed at the entrance and given menus. They came to give us waters but took ten minutes to come back to our table, and didn't just take our drinks, but our meal choices too, so no time to decide in between. I had asked if they could take a bit of the cheese off but they said they could not lower the price or change the amount as it's a standard measurement (didn't specify how much would be on the poutine even after asking.) After waiting a bit we got our meals, and the pointue serving was filling but there was an overload of cheese curds. My fathers order was concerning. We saw another review stating the meat fo the burger was dry and hard, we thought nothing of it, but we were wrong. It was hard, dry, and if you pulled at it it would crumble. My mothers order came with sandwiches and soup of the day (vegetable soup), but her sandwich was stone cold, not even a smidge warm. When they took our plates, they asked if we needed to go boxes and we said yes. They took ten minutes, plus a different server came and asked and then brought over, our boxes we wanted to take our meals back to the restaurant we were staying at. Once we got the bill as-well we had to wait inside to get serviced and pay. Overall it was a confusing and odd experience, I'd contemplate going again unless I dress less fancy expecting to be served with little class.

Yelp
Sunday, nearly evening, on the outskirts of Quebec City. There is very little open near our hotel. We had just gone dogsledding, and ice skating, and didn't feel like venturing up. We wanted something close, and Chez Victor was really the only option. I looked at the pictures, and pretty much knew what we were in for: Ok food. Convenient, and nothing special, like an Applebees or Chilis. Not much more. It was less. The menu was fine. Various sandwiches with myriad condiments, an extensive drink menu, and some house dishes. They had a vegan cheese option, which I appreciated as I avoid dairy. The wait staff was nice enough. I ordered a chicken sandwich with garlic/curry mayo. My girlfriend ordered a burger. These came with fries. Both of us just had water. It arrived in a fairly timely fashion. Mine was mostly bun and condiments. The chicken was in strips, prepackaged and ready for a sub par school lunch. My girlfriend's burger was similarly underwhelming. The fries were soggy, tasteless, and gross. The waitress did not return to check on us until about thirty minutes later when through our meals. To be fair, she had a large party to which she had been attending, but a check in would have been nice. My girlfriend ordered a cup of decaf. It was simply not potable. Like a cup of bitter acid. She would normally just deal, but it was really that bad. We asked that it be removed from the bill, which they kindly did. To top it all off, she had a stomach ache within an hour, and mine started a few hours later. Bottom line? Avoid Chez Victor at all costs.

Yelp
A little off beaten path from Old Quebec but we made trip for the multiple vegetarian/vegan burger options. Did not disappoint. La Veganator was perfection according to my fungi loving friend. I got the La Verguez , the homemade spicy veggie patty, which was also good but a bit on the dry side. Fixed by asking for a little extra VGnaise. Soup of the day, zucchini crème was so delicious, I'm going to try to recreate at home. Solid 3.8, rounding up for the nice service.

Yelp
The meal was good, but what I ordered as a meal was so out of this world I had to write a review. I had Gnocchi Poutine and it was soooooo good with fried onion strings and sour cream which seemed like that was going to be over the top but was not. The gnocchi was crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside and just so delicious. I also got a local "beer of the moment" which was a citrus something and also very good. My husband got a burger but it just wasn't as good as the Gnocchi poutine.
google avatar

Amy H.

Yelp
Great menu choices. Cooked to perfection. Toasted bun was light and buttery. Poutine choices were regular, BBQ or mixed. The mixed was amazing and tangy.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to eat right outside of the train station. We had a bit of a wait before we could check in to our accommodations so we hunkered down at this fine establishment and ate and drank. The staff here were amazing and really took care of us. We had plenty of fine beers and wines (they were clearly passionate about their wine selection). We had some soups and sandwiches and even tried their gnocchi poutine. All of the food was pretty decent, but the stars of the show were the alcohol and the staff. Can't thank the staff enough for being so accommodating and wonderful to us. I would return here.

Yelp
A bit of a walk from Old Quebec. It's on the ground floor of an office building, spacious, bright and new. We had a soup/burger combo and Buffalo Chicken Poutine. The veggie soup was good, but the Tofu Burger was the surprise. Tofu never tasted better, and I eat a lot of tofu. The poutine was strong, as buffalo chicken should be. You get large pieces of chicken. Glad we shared everything because I can't imagine eating the poutine all by myself as much as I love fries. A good place to have poutine as they offer a great variety. Service was fair, nothing stood out but no complaint.

Yelp
We loved our meal here ! I was a little hesitant to "just" go get a burger and poutine it so glad we did ! And the peach sour drink is fabulous . Service was great- very friendly and welcoming !
google avatar

Gloria K.

Yelp
We wanted to eat Poutine in Québec and we picked this place because it was within walking distance from where we were. Even though this place is known for their burgers, Yelp had recommended it for their Poutines, and I have to say it was a correct recommendation. We had their Regular Poutine and their Smoked Meat with Fried Pickles and Mustard Poutine. Smoked meat = corned beef, but oh my how tasty this poutine was. Not bad for a burger joint at all.
google avatar

Yelp
Been here once so far and highly recommend the vegan burger! Can't wait to try the vegan poutine sometime soon :)

Yelp
In Quebec City Canada- went to this gourmet burger restaurant rated 4.5 stars by Yelp just to see what they offer. It was early when i came here at 4:30 pm with only 1 customer. Im guessing its early and because its a Wednesday. At any rate--Tried out the Regular Poutin on their menu for the first time, a quintessential staple here consisting of french fries, cheese curds & brown gravy. It is delish! Also tried their vegan burger, The Veganator served with a green salad... absolutely scrumptious! Downed this gigantic meal with a local IPA beer Glutenberg. This is definitely a good place to go to while in Quebec! Thank you!
google avatar

Karen M.

Yelp
We stumbled upon Chez Victor today while wandering around Old Quebec City. I don't eat red meat, so I was a little nervous about trying a burger place. Needless to say, the spicy vegan patty was delish! My husband, who is a burger guy, opted for an Asian-spiced chicken sandwich which was equally good. Our drinks were lovely and the service was great!!
google avatar

Yeonhwa S.

Yelp
Super hip burger joint with the sweetest servers and good draft beer. We wanted to check out the newer part of Quebec city so we were walking around and found Chez Victor! It's inside a modern building with clean interior designs. The burgers were super good but it's something you can find in the states as well. But I definitely loved the experience as a whole. Definitely recommend!
google avatar

Leishan P.

Yelp
Best burger I have ever eaten! I never eat the bread with a burger and I inhaled the entire thing. I was so embarrassed that I asked for a side of ketchup. It did. It need anything. I got Le Classique... YUM! Oh and the service was also excellent.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm usually not a big fan of burger joints, even higher-end ones, but this place really hit the spot for me. The restaurant was very clean and had great ventilation (couldn't detect any kitchen grease odors, yay). The waitress was super friendly and made sure my sister and I had a good experience. To share with my sister, I ordered a Salade des Cuisiniers (salad), Le Sanglier (burger), and a regular poutine. A few minutes after taking our order, the waitress came back to tell me that she realized there was no way my sister and I could finish everything that we had ordered, and suggested that we switch from the full-sized poutine to a side of it instead, since the burger came with a side of fries anyway. I really appreciated her honest suggestion, because even after I made the switch, my sister and I still could not finish everything. The portions are huge! (Not sure if the poutine we ended up getting was a "side" though; the bowl was enormous) The food quality is definitely better than other high-end burger place I've been to. The flavors were unique and distinct, and nothing was noticeably greasy. I really enjoyed the poutine because it was appreciably hot and not lukewarm. The salad wasn't sickeningly overdressed like many I've had in the past, but it wasn't the best-tasting salad I've had before either. However, Chez Victor does specialize in burgers and poutines instead of salads.

Yelp
Food: very good. Excellent tasting authentic poutine. Fries were crispy, and there was a good amount of meat, cheese, and gravy. Portion sizes are a little small, but the taste is good. Almost makes up for the price...almost. Could charge a little less. Service: excellent! Server was right on the ball, didn't hover, bit checked in a couple times to make sure my meal was OK. She was very nice and clearly was the only one working this particular afternoon, but she handled the restaurant very well by herself. Location: weird. Chez Victor is located in a building down by the transportation center along the water, and although there is parking over there, there really isn't any parking directly near this restaurant. You can try to get street parking, but that is pretty difficult. I had a very hard time trying to find the actual restaurant within this building. There was really no good signage in the building, nor was there a sign on the outside of the building. I just kind of wandered around trying to find it and I eventually stumbled into the right place. It definitely could be labeled a lot better than it is. Overall very good. I'll be back next time I'm in Quebec!

Yelp
Very well done. The Buffalo poutine was awesome. The Inter burger could have used a bit more seasoning and sauce as it was a tiny bit dry. Nice restaurant, clean, with quick service. Would eat here again
google avatar

Sylvia Y.

Yelp
I came here with my sister on our first evening in Quebec and ordered: -Salade des Cuisiniers (salad) -Le Sanglier burger -and full-sized L'Inter poutine. Our waitress came back and suggested we change our order to a side of poutine instead of the full-size. Thank god we did because Chez Victor definitely has "American-sized" portions. The burger (4/5) was moist and the beef is definitely better than here in the States. There wasn't much of the mushroom flavor in there though. The salad (3.5/5) was pretty standard, except it came with cheese and bread/crackers on the side. Order this if you need to get some greens in your system. Poutine (3.75/5) was a bit soggier than what I would have liked but it still hit the spot considering it started to drizzle a bit outside. A little bit pricey for a burger joint (albeit an elevated burger joint), but overall a satisfying and delicious meal. 3.75

Yelp
This place just changed my life. Today I had a burger that was snuck between two grilled smoked cheddar cheese sandwiches, and it was the tastiest hamburger I've ever eaten- and I'm from Texas. I know burgers. I don't even know how to describe this thing. The meat was charred perfectly with a crisp, well seasoned exterior. It was topped with bacon and some marinated zucchini. I had a side salad with their homemade lemon dressing, and it rocked my world, too. I felt less guilty eating a salad with my burger. Just look at the picture. This thing was OBNOXIOUSLY delicious.

Christopher G.

Yelp
Solid cocktails and delicious food. Wait staff very helpful and made certain we had a nice experience after a day of travel. Poutine quite good.
google avatar

Jenny H.

Yelp
Came here for a quick afternoon snack and left with a happy tummy thanks to Chez Victor! I ordered the hot chicken poutine and it looked so good that my boyfriend ended up eating all poutine. The cheese was nice and soft. Service was prompt and very friendly. We also got lots of nice pictures on the patio for Insta!
google avatar

Rachel C.

Yelp
Really great spot! I had the bison burger and my partner had the duck confit burger - both were outstanding. Complex flavor, friendly service. Must try the Rosemary and maple sauce with fries among their many other sauces. Desserts looked amazing too though we were too stuffed to try
google avatar

Erika R.

Yelp
The burger does not disappoint, it is literally one of the best I have had. Make sure to order a beer with the meal. 9 out of 10

Yelp
Hands down one of the best Vegan meals I've ever had at a restaurant! Not only was the dish I picked out delicious but I actually couldn't decide which to pick! I'm not use to having so many vegan options on a menu AND they all just sounded so darn good- My husband ( not vegan) also said this was one of the best meals he's also had in a very very long time! He's super picky so it was awesome seeing how much he loved the Jerk Chicken poutine. Service was excellent and I would 1000% go back if I'm ever again in the area. Good job guys!

William L.

Yelp
Good food, good service, we speak English not a problem. Like the le bete burger, and poutine was good

Yelp
We came here for dinner without a reservation and we were seated right away. We didn't know what to order from the menu because everything looks tasty, so we got recommendations for the Grilled Cheese Burger and the Duck Confit Poutine. I would stop by here again. Grilled Cheese Burger: You don't order this if you are on a diet. This intrigued me because of all the reviews on it and there's not too many burgers that are put between grilled cheese sandwiches. I thought I was going to have a coating of grease on my tongue, but it was neutralized with the zucchini relish. The flavors combination of bacon, relish, burger and grilled cheese works. The fries were perfectly crispy and the the rosemary maple mayo sauce was amazing. One of the best dipping sauces I've had and I plan on trying to replicate it for home. Duck Confit Poutine: This was very good. The gravy was a vegetarian gravy and very tasty, the cheese was nice and gooey. The Duck was nice and tender and the fries were crispy. It all came together perfectly.

Yelp
For our first Québec meal, I had to experience the famous poutine that I'd always heard about. What better place than somewhere that dubbed itself a "poutinière"?! Chez Victor did not disappoint. The poutine options were numerous and intriguing, all playing upon the basic poutine recipe of fries, gravy and cheese curds. I had the Smoked Meat poutine which added smoked meat, fried pickles (the star of the dish), mustard and a bbq gravy to the basic. Talk about comfort food! The menu is large with, surprisingly, many vegetarian/ vegan options in addition to its primary burger and poutine specialties. The burgers are good and come with a side of fries, for which there are about 6 different types of mayonnaise dips. (Maple-rosemary was our favorite!). Chez Victor also offers a nice selection of beers, with menu recommendations for good pairings with the food. This is a sit down-service restaurant. Not fast food. Service was super friendly and helpful. Only downsides and reason for four, not five stars: the entrance was hard to find and the restaurant is in an unmemorable modern building. After walking past all the charming restaurants and antique stores on Rue St Paul, it was a bit of a letdown to see that we'd be dining in a blah modern setting. Thankfully, the food and service helped make up for the lack of ambiance!

Yelp
We came here on a Saturday night for a weekend getaway in Quebec. Surprisingly, it was not packed, so we were pleased to be greeted right away and find a seat right away. We really liked the decor and the homie-feel of the restaurant. They have a very great menu, ranging from appetizers to burgers to poutines. This place is Vegetarian and Vegan friendly if you take out the Mayonaise out of the burgers. We had the Tofu burger and the Burger of the Week. Needless to say, it was amazing. Tofu burger was very well made and the taste was great, and the burger of the week was an angus kind of burger with blue cheese, and it was one of the best burgers I've had up to date. I totally recommend.

Hao H.

Yelp
Good portions of food. But we didn't enjoy them as much. The poutine taste was very heavy, quite salty to my like.

Thomas K.

Yelp
Service was horrible. As a vegetarian, I could not find anything on the menu to fit my needs. Furthermore, server was extremely unwilling and disrespectful towards my diet and needs as a consumer. Fellow patrons agreed that their dining experience was sub optimal. Ambiance was nice. Also, I have raging IBS and i will be spending the duration of my evening on a toilet.

Yelp
Came here wanting to get something outside the crazy of the summer festival. They have a large indoor and outdoor seating area, although no shade outside :( The menu can come in either French or English which is nice. We asked the waiter what he would suggest and he said we should go with the Mediterranean burger and upgrade to poutine. We weren't looking for a super heavy meal so we decided to split that. Server was nice and really tried with English. However, it took forever to get service initially and he wasn't the fastest on checking on drinks or refilling water. While the burger was excellent and the poutine was one of the better ones we had while in the city, we were disappointed about the size of the burger. It was more bun than burger. We both only got about 3 bites of burger before it was all bun. It ended up not really being enough for 2 ppl but we decided to find something else along the way as we explored. Beer is local and there are many varieties. Menu is diverse and there were lots of great options. Only major gripe besides the burger size was the bathroom. While I appreciate there is a family washroom with change table, it's quite a walk and down a weird hallway. Makes you feel like you are invading office bathrooms....

Yelp
This place is located a little out of the way from Old Quebec but if you want some good burgers and poutine, then you should check out the place. The decorations were modern making the place feel sharp and different from the city. We had duck confit burger, another burger made out of naan for the bun, and poutine fries with tamarind sauce. SO GOOD! The duck meat was soft and juicy and the sauce they used was good. I love the tamarind sauce for the poutine which I thought was creative. The prices were a little on the higher side but you'll get full. I really thought the food was creative and wished I had more time to try the other food. Definitely check out this place if you're in town!

Yelp
Delicious juicy burgers. Organic and local beef. fresh cut fries with dark authentic Poutine gravy. Menu options are good, prices are fair for Qb City (food and restaurants are not cheap in QC) Burgers - $12-18, upgrade fries too Poutine for $2.50 (worth it). Wine menu reasonable. Staff was friendly and inviting. Great location by the port. (1st floor of an office building) with an Industrial chic atmosphere and decor. Though it was so cold out (minus 10 degrees and blowing snow) it was an easy walk from the main strip (rue St. Jean). Lots of hilly streets so wear comfortable shoes. The markets at the port are a very close walk away (a few minutes).

Yelp
I didn't try a traditional burger at Chez Victor, but the ones my family tried were really good. We had the Indian burger and a lamb burger with fries, and those were excellent. We also tried a couple of salads, and they were underwhelming, so I would really stick with burgers and fries here. Service was excellent and really fast.

Angela W.

Yelp
We had an incredible meal! Everything was perfect! They are friendly to Americans ! The potato soup is a must! So glad we stopped here
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, with delicious and hearty portions, and a good beer selection. My family stopped by for lunch on our vacation in Quebec. I ordered an on tap pint of red lager twice, and my father had a nice citrus IPA he also enjoyed very much and reordered. Service was super fast, attentive, and friendly. We ordered the regular poutine, the fried buffalo poutine, and a sandwich with salad on the side. Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the traditional gravy for the poutines. Give this place a try!

Yelp
Chez Victor is a place you go for burgers, a classic in Quebec city coz they only have it there !! They have different type of burgers, ranging from different type of meats to vegetarian. They give huuuuuge portions of fries!!!! The poutine (a classic Quebec meal : french fries with gravy and cheese) is an easy add-on to your frieds for less 4$ I think and was worth it. We found a coupon on antidote mobile which gave us 20$ credit for 10$. But I do go to this restaurant once in a while when I feel for a good burger. Seriously. Worth trying !
