Wonderful restaurant for lunch or dinner. Small but diverse enough à la carte menu. Vibrant, fresh, tasty dishes. As good for a special occasion or for a low key dinner. No nonsense decor, modern but warm - shared tables. Professional performing arts clientele from nearby theatres and opera house. Very relaxed but classy, mature intellectuals and younger cool crowd.

Fantastic food and service, very reasonably priced for central Munich. In my view the best value for money meal in central Munich. Highly recommended.

We arrived, had a reservation for 4 and didn’t liked the table we got (all the tables were literally empty, see picture) therefore we asked nicely if we could be seated in a different table! The waitress said she had a personal system so we had to seat in that specific table she gave us (just because of her system she didn’t offer any other explanation) we asked her to explain more and she argued it’s like it is! So we left…

If you come 2 minutes before they open to order a coffee, they will tell you to wait until they open. As they have to finish their cigarette 😂

We were staying across the street and randomly walked in for dinner. We had a lovely experience. We both ordered salads to start. My husband had the veal tenderloin and I had the tuna. Everything was quite lovely. The waitstaff were very friendly and helpful since we had no German.

Yelp
We have been to Conviva every time we have visited Munich. It has never failed us. The food on this trip was wonderful and provided us with simply mouthgasm moments. The avocado mousse was delightfully creamy, hints of lemon and the smoothness of avocado. This came with a rocket salad and a light Waldorf like salad. The duck liver pâté was textural (not grainy), with a beautiful blackcurrant jelly wrapping it. The watercress salad was peppery and gave the little bite to tingle the tastebuds. The pumpkin, ginger and coconut soup with a pumpkin seed oil was delightful. The oil raising the flavour profile beautifully. Whilst the Charolais was not available, the replacement veal steak was juicy, a light blush of pink when cut, and so soft and tender with a caramelised crust to just give that extra texture. The savoury donuts and the vegetables with a jus to wrap it into a delight of a mouthful. The braised veal with vegetables cooked in stock with a horseradish sauce, provided a slight switch in that whilst the veal was flavoursome it was the vegetables that took the plate to the next level by providing the palate with excitement and joy. The dessert was a gingerbread panna cotta with white wine braised pear and redcurrants. Oh my gawd! This, for me, was a mouthgasm. The gingerbread flavour was a hit on the tongue, the texture, whilst not smooth and creamy as per a traditional panna cotta, was both creamy and textural at the same time. The red currants and the pears gave that texture offset and sharpness that brought out the flavour even more. Such a wonderful night, with wait staff who were attentive and relaxed. The atmosphere at Conviva is always relaxed and, whilst sometimes a little noisy, you never feel that you are fighting the other dinner guests to be heard. Overall, it had to be 5/5.

Yelp
Not sure if this place deserves 3 or 4 stars. In doubt I will give it 3 until I try it again. I liked the minimalistic décor and the nice and friendly waiting staff. I love their employing policies (people with handicap or other problems are given priority to re-integrate in society) and the canteen atmosphere. For all of this 5 stars. I just wasn't impressed by the food. By reading the menu you'd expect something special, in that the description of the dishes is interesting and sophisticated. The problem is that what they call "mountain lentils" are then plain boiled lentils on the side, or what the call "salad bouquet from the market" is a standard bagged salad mix from the super-market. My pumpkin soup was absolutely tasteless (although my friend's porcini-potato soup was very yummy). The fish terrine was good but I was a bit bothered by the accompanying "salad bouquet" (as mentioned above). I think a bit less pretence (for what concerns the menu) would do this place good. Also, it would be great to find more vegetarian options on the menu. I will nonetheless definitely come back.

Yelp
4.5 stars. Conviva is situated right next to the Münchner Kammerspiele, so it is an ideal location to go for food/drinks before catching a production there. Even if you don't go for a play, Conviva is still worth a visit. Conviva not only serves a great purpose of giving job opportunities to people with disabilities, but it also serves interesting modern German fare. The menu changes periodically, but we had raviolis with red beets (one has the option of having it as appetizer or as main dish) and a salad with "eggplant flan." I had never had eggplant flan before, but I enjoyed it quite a lot. Prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommended (play or no play)!

Yelp
This is next to the MK (Münchner Kammerspiele) theater. It's a casual, low-key place with italian fare. You seat yourself at one of the many family-style tables and wave down a waiter. We walked here on our arrival night after a very long oceanic flight wanting something familiar with a no-fuss atmosphere. I had a ravioli dish w/ brown butter and rocket salad, he had a spaetzle pasta with veal. Lovely. Totally hit the spot. :) Staff speaks English.
