We had the pleasure of dining at this new and modern restaurant, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is natural and welcoming, striking a perfect balance between elegance and comfort. A special compliment goes to the chef Daan van Wielen, whose creations are nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was a masterpiece — flavors were not only exceptional but also perfectly combined. It’s clear that this level of culinary artistry places the restaurant undeniably on the level of a Michelin-starred establishment. The wine pairing was equally impressive. The selection was thoughtfully curated and matched each dish with remarkable precision, enhancing the overall dining experience in the most delightful way. The staff deserves high praise as well — incredibly courteous, attentive, and genuinely warm. Their professionalism and charm contributed significantly to the overall enjoyment of the evening. In short, this restaurant is a true treasure. Excellent service, exquisite food, and a relaxed yet sophisticated ambiance make it a place I’ll gladly return to and wholeheartedly recommend. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine dining at the highest level — even if you don’t live nearby, it’s absolutely worth the journey.

Lovely quiet spot, beer garden and farm house had a wonderful lunch. It’s quite a treasure. More Thomas Hardy, than George Orwell (far from the madding crowd, not animal farm!

Great little place for a drink or to grab an evolutionary bite. Staff are on it and service is great! A gem of Parkstad!

We enjoyed our department gathering at Darwin. Sad that the pleasant afternoon had to end with an indecent and inhospitable remark of the person on charge telling us that we did not left in time (4 minutes after closing time)

The personnel tried their best and were hard working. They had so much stress and running around. many of the staf was not informed about their tasks, menu and the place. whereas it because very chaotic.

Wat een fantastische ervaring hebben wij gehad bij Restaurant Darwin in Heerlen! Vanaf het moment dat we binnenstapten, werden we ondergedompeld in een uitmuntende sfeer die perfect paste bij de geweldige locatie. Maar de echte sterren van de avond waren de gerechten. Van het eerste hapje tot de laatste kruimel was elk gerecht een geweldig verrassende en bovenal heerlijke smaakexplosie. De chef-kok weet duidelijk hoe hij de smaakpapillen moet prikkelen en elk bord was een kunstwerkje op zich. De service was top; attent, professioneel en met een persoonlijke touch. Wat we echter het allerleukst vonden, was dat de chef zelf regelmatig aan tafel kwam. Niet alleen om de gerechten te presenteren, maar ook voor een gezellig praatje. Als je op zoek bent naar een avond vol culinaire hoogstandjes, verrassende smaken en een onvergetelijke beleving, dan is Restaurant Darwin absoluut een aanrader! Wij hebben heerlijk gegeten en komen hier zeker terug.
