I sat down on the terrace at 5:30 p.m. to have a quick drink. The place was half empty, and I clearly explained that I’d only be staying for 15 minutes. Still, I was asked to leave and move “upstairs” because, apparently, from 5:30 p.m. onwards, the downstairs area is reserved exclusively for diners.
What kind of logic is that? At that hour, it’s completely normal for someone to want just a drink. This policy is so rigid it borders on the absurd. It honestly feels like the staff would rather turn away paying customers than exercise a shred of flexibility or common sense.
Unfortunately, because their location is so ideal, the establishment has become far too arrogant and completely disconnected from reality. Turning away quiet, respectful customers at 5:30 p.m.—when the terrace is half empty—simply because they’re not ordering dinner? That’s not hospitality.
That’s just poor business acumen (or plain stupidité)?
