We had dinner at De Stove and really enjoyed the cozy, peaceful atmosphere — a perfect spot for a relaxed evening in Bruges. When we arrived, we were warmly greeted and our coats were taken, which felt very welcoming. The restaurant has a charming, intimate feel that makes it a lovely place to unwind. We ordered mostly seafood, as we’d heard great things about it, plus a carpaccio to start. The shrimp croquette was definitely the highlight — crisp, flavorful, and delicious. The sole was beautifully cooked, and the butter sauce was a real indulgence. The sea bass was prepared nicely as well, though it was a bit lighter in flavor compared to the other dishes. Service was friendly and attentive throughout, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish.

Absolutely bloody wonderful food, wine, service. If I lived in Bruges I would eat here once a week. We had tartare of scallops in lime foam, something like ceviche; carpaccio of beef; oven-baked sole (seetong); and pork cheeks, apparently a local dish, but known to me more from Italy. We have not eaten so well in years. Wine list interesting and well-chosen. Service with a big smile. Everything perfect.

We had the sole catch if the day and it was delicious. The salad was also amazing and went perfectly with the fish. Service was really friendly and attentive.

Glad I booked ahead for Sunday lunch given we’d already missed out the Friday and Saturday dinner slots (in low season, this is a small, busy restaurant). This was the stand out best restaurant we ate at in Bruges. Go with the seafood is a good call, starter of red prawns was excellent as was the sea bass but I was slightly jealous of my friend’s order of catch of the day sole meunière was even better. Excellent quality and value Bordeaux blanc (Sauvignon blanc) by the glass paired perfectly with the sea food. Excellent and attentive service. Cosy restaurant filled with diners enjoying exceptional food.

I had the Côte à l’os van Blonde d’Aquitaine, and it was absolutely delicious – cooked just right, super tender, and full of flavor. You can tell they really care about the quality of their ingredients. The overall service was warm and attentive, which really added to the experience.

Very lovely restaurant in town. If you search the area there are tons of fancy places that costs a fortune (not a fan when you have young children!) This restaurant is reasonably priced, food is definitely fine quality, i think it fits us well. The menu does not have a lot of choices, but every single dish is amazing! I can say it because there were 5 main courses on the menu, and we ordered 4 of them :) We also tried the scallop apetizer, so good that i wish i can go back again now that i am writing about it!

A very cute little place right in the centre of Bruges. Everything we tried was delicious and well executed. The place itself is charming. Beware of how much you might order since the portions are quite big. Definitely recommended!

Excellent, just the perfect spot to escape the tourist restaurants only a few steps away. The talented chef keeps a tight menu of excellent choices, it was the highlight of our dining in Bruges. I had the perfectly cooked Dover sole menuire and my husband the Raj of venison, both delightful. The wild game croquettes were a dreamy cloud inside crisp bread g and the grilled scallops a dream. The half bottles of wine were a perfect way to enjoy the meal in the cozy quiet space. Felt like dinner in someone’s home and what a treat it was. Be sure to reserve well in advance, all walk ins were turned away one after the next.

Yelp
Make a reservation! Even if the restaurant is not full, they will turn you down without a reservation to make room for their other customers who did. The restaurant is ran by 2 people and the lady in the front is very nice. Scallop Risotto - delicious! Risotto is cooked to perfection and the scallops are fresh and tasty. Sea bass - only order if you're good with eating skin! It requires all of the dish to be good. If you eat only the meat it will be bland, the seasoning is mostly on the skin! It's a great dish and I enjoyed it. Lamb fillet - could've used a little more seasoning. I found it a little bland but the scalloped potatoes it came with was awesome. It's a small restaurant right next to all the touristy places but it had a Brugge home feel. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Had an unbelievable night here. Great food! It was nice but still felt homey. Would highly recommend to anyone stopping in Bruges. Service was fantastic and everything was fresh.

Yelp
De Stove was our favorite restaurant in Brugges. We were there in October for 3 days and had made a reservation in advance after reading some excellent reviews. The husband/wife team run the small restaurant with the husband doing all the cooking and the wife meeting, greeting and serving the customers. The night we were there an adorable granddaughter was helping out. My husband and I shared an amazing shrimp appetizer, and we both ordered the lamb filet which was seasoned to perfection and absolutely delicious. We saved room for dessert, which was ice cream and the famous Belgian chocolate sauce. We were in Paris and Amsterdam before and after Brugges, and we still talk about the great meal at de Stove.
