Restaurant Doubek

Stefan and Nora are artisans of their craft. This is a one of a kind experience where you are invited into an intimate experience of seeing everything cooked before you with every most finite detail attended to for every course. Expensive? Yes. Exceptional? Yes. Memorable? Absolutely. Doubek is to fine dining as Babe Ruth is to baseball.

Compared to other Michelin-starred restaurants in Vienna at a similar price point, this had to be the most extensive and thoughtfully curated dining experience. With only 5 tables and perhaps around 13-15 guests at a time, the meal feels very intimate. We were served 19 courses (perhaps more, considering the generous finale) over a 5-hour stretch. Each dish tells a story, taking you on a journey that lingers long after the final bite. My personal favorites were the moules, bread + caviar, the langoustine, the tourbot, cod with beans, duck, and choux cardamom. Four days later, and that meal is still living rent-free in my head! As for the service, there was a slight delay at the beginning due to some late-arriving guests, but the warm, attentive host and the professional staff more than made up for it with their gracious hospitality.

I had a wonderful experience at Doubek. It was my first night in Vienna and I made reservations based on what I reviewed online. The experience was a wonderful introduction to the city. The food was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was really fun getting to watch the chef and sound chefs prepare each course. The quality of the food was amazing. Everything was absolutely delicious. The service and hospitality made me feel really welcome to the city. The entire experience is well worth the price. I’ve added some basic photos but will leave each dish to be a surprise for you if you decide to go!

Very high level of gastronomy. Almost perfection in both taste and plating! Nice ambiance and setting. Deserves at least one Michelin star maybe even two.

By far the best restaurant we have ever eaten at. Simply a unique and unforgettable experience - from th restaurant itself, the unique design, the welcome experience, the service and above all the unique and truly innovative food, course after course. Still running back in our mind this truly mind-blowing experience throughout the long evening. True talent that will no doubt continue to evolve and grow.

So far we know how ungracious the head of the service is. I never experienced such an arrogance in a restaurant like I did here. I felt looked down and it was very hard for me to understand if her treatment towards me was not because of my skin color. Yes the food is stunning and as for the service.. It is a major disaster and doesn’t fit to the word hospitality at all.

This is a late review, as I went there several months ago. Food was really great, very interesting palate due to everything being grilled. I really enjoyed it. What I didn’t enjoy was the wine pairing presentation, served in carafes without even showing the bottle, not mentioning the vineyard, the year, etc. Much enhancement possible here.

truly incredible place with such a thoughtful ambience, the kindest service and of course fantastic food. while it is a very special and elevated place, nora made everyone feel so comfortable and cared for. thank you for creating such a wonderful and warm atmosphere!
