My family (4 of us) ate here Saturday, Sept 7th. I was pleased that it was on the beach, but was concerned about the sand (floor) of the restaurant, seeing metal beer caps everywhere…for sure there is glass from broken dishes or beer bottles in there… it that is the way most of the beach here seems to be. My guac & chips were quite good. My wife’s margarita was huge. My mother’s shrimp was spicy (she requested no spice) and very watery. The ketchup was also very watery and weird-tasting…but maybe that the local variety??? There are local people walking by nonstop asking you to buy this or that, which I didn’t like…but my daughter enjoyed having her hair braided by one of ladies walking around. All in all…would I go back there? Hmmm…I don’t think I would, honestly.

We were 4 to take a surf lesson with el gato. It was awesome. He explained well, was super friendly, and told us tricks as we were progressing. We were able to surf in a matter of time! Can't wait to try again before i leave. We all had a great time! Merci le chat!

I brought the family here to eat. Waiter to our order for drinks and then took food orders. Food came first and right when when of us are finish, we had to ask waiter to bring drinks. The shrimp cocktails is too watery. Overall the service was horrible, they really dont come by the table to see if anything else is needed. I wouldnt come here again 🤨. Beware! My wife and daughter were there Monday at noon and both had a margarita. I joined them about an hour later after being at the dentist, and they both seemed very intoxicated after only drinking half (it was their first drink of the day). They were extremely ill for the next 2 days and this is not the first review of this happening at this restaurant. They are obviously using homemade, tainted, or drugged alcohol for who they think are unsuspecting. It’s called the “Gringo Special”! They want to get you intoxicated, charge you more than the menu prices, get you to buy beach junk off their partners, or god forbid something worse. Stay away.

I was looking for a good comforting soup after a night with a lot of tequila and this definitely made it. It has a loooot of seafood and it comes with fresh cucumber, onions and jalapeño. It was the only place we could find that serves seafood soup in town. The michelada is very good and it has a nice beach view. I wasn’t a fan of the margarita here!

100 pesos per margarita, ordered 2. After 20 mins, they got around to bringing them out. Dude said something about a 2 hour max at the tables. Paid and left. But.. Wow the margaritas were stacked, well worth the $5!

My 11-year-old son and I took lessons with Gato at Costeno Surf School for 3 days and it was AWESOME! Neither of us had surfed before, and within minutes we were both riding waves to the shore. Gato is very patient, especially with people like me who keep doing the same things over and over no matter how many times he explains what I'm doing wrong :). We HIGHLY recommend Gato and Costeno Surf School and can't wait to go back!
