such a lovely little restaurant w/ an amazing lunch deal! greeted by a friendly woman and got a table despite i came earlier than my booking time. ordered the puff pastry, spanish rice and wrapping up the meal with red wine peach. everything was delicious!! i mean just food that you enjoy eating and can’t stop eating. simple food but well cooked. highly recommended, at least i will definitely go back if i’m in town again.

We loved everything we ordered! Such a cozy little place with great friendly service. The hostess was easy to talk to and her suggestions were great. All in all I’m glad we found this place. Definitely recommend you give this place a try. This place is in walking distance (15-20 mins) from the metro.

I was hoping to avoid touristy spots and lines, and Embat was by far our favorite meal in Barcelona. The setting is unpretentious but the menu beautifully curated. Service was attentive and allowed the meal to flow without feeling rushed. The ingredients are fresh and creatively put together. The menu is elevated and true to its Catalonian roots. We loved with the fried eggplant (prepared like fries), the asparagus mille-feuille was SO unique and delightful (pictured), the prawn carpaccio was unbelievably fresh (pictured), the steak perfectly cooked (pictured), and their interpretation of tiramisu (pictured) did not disappoint. We enjoyed the set menu for 37€ each and chose a bottle of garnacha blanca from the presumably handpicked wine list. I cannot recommend highly enough, enjoy!

We took the lunch menu 23.5€. It was very good quality, everything delicious. The desserts were very good better than most of the cake shops.

WONDERFUL! This place must be one of the best restaurants in Barcelona. All dishes are highly sophisticated, even ‘pan con tomato’ which is just bread with tomato sauce, was remarkable and different from others - crispy and flavorful. Besides, they serve really nice wine. Even though some commented their dishes were too small, this place is must-go in Barcelona.

The best meal that I ate in Barcelona. Really elevated cooking at great value. We had the set menu which was a really good way to get a taste of the menu highlights!

My friends and I had brunch here while we spent the weekend in Barcelona. The food and service are amazing and inexpensive, and the restaurant is decorated very nicely but simply. I would definitely recommend this place!

Don't miss this restaurant! Very nice starters !! I got Seafood lasagna, which was so fresh and with a nice texture. The Spanish rice was also good but the starters were more stunning Last but not least, the waitress was very nice and friendly, a very good experience in Barcelona!

A great restaurant hiding in the middle of Barcelona. The 5 course menu is excellent... Corn yogurt, lamb, salmon, soup, dessert, etc. My favorite dish was the salmon which can also be requested on its own (ie outside the fixed menu). The wine list is limited with some wines not available. Last but not least... Excellent kitchen :)!!!

What a great spot! I chose Embat at the last minute for our final dinner in Barcelona--wanting a bit of an upgrade from Tapas and cafe food as we'd been having. It was a lovely dinner--we had the tasting menu--and every course was on pointe. The duck cannelloni seems to be a specialty, and was particularly memorable, but the scallop starters were stellar as well. Service was quiet amd casual, but never missed a beat. The space itself is also quite casual, with lots of pine and white, and fairly bright lights. It was a lovely meal, and won't be forgotten.

More of a place would expect to find in Copenhagen than Barcelona with tables and bench seats made of pine which provides a conifer sent when one walks in the door - a place to go for a sensory culinary experience versus large amounts of food - everything we had was extremely fresh and well presented - artful as well as good - though like many places my main dish of suckling pig lacked enough of that most magical ingredient, salt. However, for a romantic dinner this is a excellent choice - the focus on natural ingredients makes it a nice follow up to a visit to the nature inspired Sagrada Familia - pricey but out of the ordinary - worth a visit

A must go! Don't be fooled by it's casual interior. This cuisine is well thought out with layers of flavor and made with love.

Me encanto este lugar !!! A pesar de todas las delicias que había en la carta , me decidí por el tradicional gazpacho que me encanta y la verdad fue una elección muy acertada ya que es muy distinto a un gazpacho normal ya que este tiene un sabor como ahumado y se sirve con hielo picado , lo recomiendo al 200% De plato principal comí el cerdo con las salchichas de sangre en col y fue otro gran acierto Lo único que podría mejorar es aumentar el tamaño de las porciones ya que todo es tan rico que te quedas siempre con ganas de mas !!! Es un restaurante muy nítido con todo en bkanxo y muy minimalista que te hace sentir muy zen y sereno cuando estas ahí Gran lugar !!! No se lo pierdan

This was our first stop in Barcelona after getting in from LA, and it was a great introduction to Catalan cuisine. It's very charming with just the right amount of service without being stuffy. After the end of our trip and evaluating all of the fancy 1,2,3 michelin star restaurants, this was a great value and a nice and relaxing way to start our trip. I can't remember everything that we had, except there was a fruit "soup" that was fantastically refreshing for end of May.

Nice restaurant at a very centrally located district in Barcelona. Food was absolutely great, chef Santi and service were very charming and helpful. Octopus in sobrassada sauce really deserves a try! Amazing desserts too. We'll pay a visit again!

Wow! My husband and daughters and I had the surprise pleasure of dining at Embat our last night in Barcelona. Embat had been recommended to my husband by the wine shop where he had spent some time buying wonderful Spanish wine we can't find in the US. We were visiting our older daughter who was studying there and had had several months to find several great spots for eating that she had shared with us but even after 8 days of putting much emphasis on our culinary experience in Barcelona, my daughter exclaimed after trying her Salmon Tartare, this is now my favorite restaurant in Barcelona! We also had the starter of grilled octopus with an Asian influence( we loved it so much we ordered a 2nd one). My husband had the wild boar terrine which was fantastic. They handled a nut allergy and special request very graciously and thoughtfully. There were not a lot of people there when we were there on a Friday night and I truly don't understand why. If you don't try it you will be missing out! This place is a gem! Go!

this place is worth every great review you read about it! its a neighborhood spot for us so a nice walk and once we got through the rather short door for us very tall folks, we walked down into a very cozy and welcoming spot. our waitress was very friendly, patient and helpful considering our lack of language skills. good recommendation on the wine (acoustic cellar 2015 vinyes velles nobles for 22 euros) and we started with the house cava which was delish. just like all other reviewers, we had the duck canneloni which was really rich and tasty. also ordered the onion soup with poached egg, a bit of cheese on top and some very tasty mushrooms. perfect for a cold winter night. mains were the lamb with eggplant which melted in my mouth and the spanish rice with scallops, not a paella but very nice. loved it. will go back.
