Restaurant Gaissa delivered an outstanding dining experience from start to finish. This is modern Lappish cuisine done right. The menu is focused, confident, and well-curated. Every dish we tried was precise and full of character. The reindeer with chanterelle pasta was rich and comforting, perfectly balanced by the creamy sauce. The traditional sautéed reindeer stood out for its tenderness and depth of flavor. Pure Lapland on a plate. The whitefish main was cooked spot on, with clean flavors and a beautiful sauce that did not overpower the fish. Even the escargot felt thoughtful and well-executed. Portions were generous without being heavy. Presentation was elegant but honest. You could clearly taste the quality of the ingredients and the care in preparation. The interior is warm, modern, and stylish. Cozy without feeling cramped. It creates the right mood for a relaxed but elevated dinner. The service was excellent. Friendly, professional, and attentive. Dishes arrived at a good pace, explanations were clear, and recommendations were spot on. No waiting issues at all. Everything worked together seamlessly. Food, atmosphere, and service were fully aligned. A clear 5 out of 5. One of the best dining experiences in Rovaniemi. Highly recommended if you want authentic Lapland flavors with a modern touch.

Restaurant decors is Finn chic with split level design which creates a beautiful visual setting for your meal. I ordered the Pumpkin Soup, Sautéed Reindeer and Apple Pie. The Pumpkin Soup with freshly beaked, toasted bread slices was on point! Perfect balance of flavor and texture which paired nicely with the toasted Finnish bread for dipping (highly recommend). The Sautéed Reindeer (Reindeer Stew), was beautifully presented on the plate however, the meat was not chopped finely enough and not very tender…I would have also preferred to have the pickles crisp and crunchy as these were soft. This dish was served traditionally on a bed of buttered mashed potatoes, topped with Reindeer, pickles and Lingonberries…which sounds strange but I promise it’s a wonderful combination of sweet, savory, zesty and tangy all in one bite! Although not the best Reindeer Stew I’ve had in Finland, it’s mild and recommended for first timers to try here. Finally the Apple Pie was a unique take on the desert. The topping was like a crumble drizzled with caramel sauce backed on a fluffy sponge cake framing the apple slices. The flavor and texture were pleasant however, I would have liked more apples! Service was outstanding! The staff is very welcoming and the service was quick. I would recommend this restaurant for a lovely dinner, with nice views, quaint atmosphere, and beautifully presented yummy food!

The perch fillet contained too many bones, and with the crunchy skin it was sometimes hard to tell whether I was chewing a bone or the skin, which made it less enjoyable. On the other hand, the reindeer meat with mashed potatoes and sides was excellent. We were served by a gentleman from Kosovo who, despite being the only one working the tables during low season, still managed to provide excellent service. Very polite and friendly.

I ate here last night as part of a group. I felt the main meal portion size was a little small, but others found them OK. The menu is not extensive, but the food is very nice though... that's probably I wanted a larger portion. The staff are very good too.

The dining experience at Restaurant Gaissa was fantastic. The staff, particularly our server, was exceptional. He checked on us every few minutes, ensuring our water was constantly topped off. He provided excellent dinner recommendations, and the overall quality of the food, wine, and dessert was truly remarkable. The young man with the beard, originally from Rovaniemi, Finland, contributed to making our dining experience memorable.

The place looks lovely, it was very quiet when we went in (Friday night in March) Salmon soup( as a main course) I got was nice though I expected a bigger portion))). But a burger with chips was a proper size. The staff was helpful. All went ok.

A great way to celebrate our wedding anniversary, thanks to delicious food (spicy prawns and a great hamburger, finished with a perhaps best ever crème brulée) and very much appreciated personal and entertaining service by Kujtim. Thanks!

Too much kids running around and screaming, but I think it's because of this christmas period. Nevertheless I think the restaurant should plan some space free of children, as it is a big place. The menu is also too expensive for what we can find on the plate, including the presentation.
