We absolutely loved this restaurant! The food was so good that we ended up coming back twice during our 4-day holiday. The staff were genuinely lovely and made us feel welcome every time. The schnitzel was amazing, the steak was very good, and the carpaccio was delicious. But the star of the show was the apple strudel — honestly the best one we’ve ever had! Highly recommended if you’re looking for great food, warm service, and a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

Located right in the city center, Gasthof Goldener Adler already impresses with its historic atmosphere from the outside. We were initially drawn in by its old-town charm, but the dining experience ended up exceeding our expectations. My partner and I wanted to enjoy a full meal from appetizer to dessert, but to avoid wasting food, we ordered just one appetizer to share. To our surprise, the staff thoughtfully served it already divided into two plates, with beautiful presentation on each — a small but meaningful gesture that immediately made us feel well taken care of. The food itself was solid, authentic, and deeply rooted in traditional local flavors. Nothing felt overdone, yet you could truly taste the care and craftsmanship behind the dishes. If you enjoy discovering genuine local cuisine while traveling, this restaurant is absolutely worth a visit.

The beer and drinks are also very good. The staff is super friendly and happy to give recommendations. The atmosphere is very cozy with beautiful decoration. I visited Restaurant Goldener Adler in Innsbruck with my family, including my two children. We loved the cozy atmosphere and beautiful old architecture of the building. The food was very good, and I especially enjoyed the Wiener Schnitzel. Unlike many nearby restaurants that are mostly for tourists, this place feels more genuine and serves proper, authentic Austrian food. Good wine too. Our waiter helped us choose the right wine to go with our meal, which made the experience even better. The service was friendly, and made us feel welcome. It was a great place to eat after exploring nearby sights.

I stayed at the Hotel Goldene Adler in Innsbruck with my wife, my brother, his wife — and our dog. The hotel was incredibly accommodating, especially with the dog, who was welcome not only in the room but also at the bar, which made the whole stay feel even more relaxed and friendly. The location is unbeatable, right in the center of Innsbruck. The entire team, from reception to the bar and restaurant, was consistently warm and welcoming. The rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable, and the bathrooms were spotless. Fresh water is available at the reception, which is a nice extra touch. The restaurant is excellent, but definitely book in advance, as it’s very sought after. All in all, a fantastic experience for all of us. We will certainly come back.

apple strudel was nice. however, there were hidden charges that we were NOT informed of beforehand. we ordered 1 apple strudel to share with 4 people for the cost of 10.60 euros, to be charged 22.60 euros afterwards. the waiter explained to us that it was the price for sharing the meal - the extra plates and cutlery. this is absolutely ridiculous! we were not told that there was such a charge and we ended up getting charged more than double the original price for one plate of dessert. i am extremely disappointed.
