🍾✨ Le 9e — Where Time Travel Meets Fine Dining ✨🍾
Dining at Le 9e is like stepping onto a luxury ocean liner docked high above the city 🚢🌆. The preserved Art Deco details? Jaw-dropping. You half expect Gatsby to stroll by with a martini 🍸. Add in breathtaking views and you’ve got ambiance turned up to legendary.
👩💼 Hospitality: The hosts were next-level — warm, attentive, and menu encyclopedias 📚. (Shoutout to the oyster master who practically introduced us to each oyster by name 🦪😂.) Clara and Bobbie, who served our large private party, were absolute sweethearts 💕 — juggling 30 people with grace, even if service had a few expected delays.
🍽️ Food Journey:
• Prosecco = crisp, cold, and the perfect kickoff 🥂.
• Starters: melon plate was refreshing, croissants divided the crowd 🥐 (I wasn’t a fan, but others happily demolished them).
• Toast w/ mushrooms + poached egg = creamy deliciousness 🍄🍳, though the toast was tough to cut.
• Pancakes = underwhelming, not-so-fluffy flapjacks 🥞😬.
• White chocolate dome = dessert bliss 🍫✨. Smooth, sweet, and a showstopper.
• Fries = simple but solid 🍟👌.
⚖️ Hits & Misses:
• Daily special (white asparagus) = big nope 🚫. $23 for 2 undercooked spears in tasteless sauce. At that price, I expected culinary fireworks, not wet matches.
• Battered cod = too much batter, fish flavor got lost 🐟🧥.
• Salt & pepper weren’t on the table — had to chase a waiter just to season properly 🧂🏃.
⏳ Service Quirks: Food came, waiter appeared for 30 seconds… then vanished for 10+ minutes until everyone was done. Water refills? Only if you begged. And the finale? Sitting forever with coats on waiting to pay 💸🧥.
⸻
👉 Verdict: Le 9e is undeniably gorgeous — an Art Deco gem with charm, smiling staff, and moments of exceptional food. But consistency is the missing ingredient. Some dishes shine (hello, oysters + dessert dome 🌟), others flop (looking at you, asparagus + pancakes 👀). Service swings between polished and MIA.
