Restaurant Kuki Varua

We recharged at this restaurant after trekking to the volcanic craters. They serve delicious dishes made from fresh fish, tasty fresh juices, and even dessert as part of the menu. The staff was attentive and always brought exactly what we ordered. A perfect spot to relax and refuel after an adventure.

If you don't mind salty food then you would likely rate the restaurant 4 or even 5. However, if like me you don't want your food oversalted (as the fish was) maybe say something when you order or eat elsewhere. There is salt on the table that people can add to their taste (but you can't take it out) so there is no need to pour it on when cooking. The salad and mango pisco sour were fine.

Worst fried fish! Soggy and unflavorful breading (it’s like they put it in cold grease and let it slowly cook). Also a bottle of water is 3k! Expensive and terrible.

The food and service are ok, but the presentation can be improved.

We had the best peltre, a beautiful ceviche and free coffee/pisco. Great service

Restaurant à éviter. D'habitude, je ne fais pas de commentaire quand je suis déçu, mais pour ce restaurant, je dois prévenir les clients. Nous sommes arrivés à 13h30, avec 5 tables de clients, la moitié du restaurant. Après 20 minutes d'attente, la serveuse est venue nous dire qu'il ne restait que du lomo avec frites, et bière ou eau, aucun jus de fruit. Aucune carte. La serveuse a pris notre commande et est partie sans demander la cuisson du lomo. Nous avons attendu 1h10mn pour obtenir nos plats, 2 steak frites très salés et avec peu de frites. Ce restaurant donne l'impression d'être vide de fournitures et de savoir-faire.

Si bien tiene menú relativamente económicos (de $10 a 15$ + postre) y la presentación de los platos tiende a ser gourmet, de sabor no es la gran cosa y la cantidad de comida es muy poca (todos quedamos con hambre). En cuanto al tiempo espera, nos avisaron al llegar que era de 30 a 40 min aprox, pero los platos llegaron cerca de la hora de espera. Al llegar los platos se equivocaron en el acompañamiento de 4 de los 7 platos que pedimos, y al momento de indicar que no era lo solicitado, la primera respuesta del garzon fue el pedido estaba bien y que nosotros nos equivocamos. Luego de insistir se acerca otra niña, quien indica que puede cambiar los platos. De todas formas la comida llegó fría (puré) y en el caso de un plato que llevaba carne, venia cruda y hubo que pedir que la terminaran de cocer. Resumen: para salir del paso sirve, pero no volvería ni lo recomendaría.

No al casamos al menú de pescado pero la car estaba muy pero muy bueno.. mañana vengo por el pecado menú de 10.000 pesos

I was actually looking for a different restaurant that seems to have closed recently, so I came here instead for lunch. They posted their menu on the window and offer a lot of options, including seafood, pastas, salads, and steak. The interior is nice and clean and has decorations of moai. I ordered the mero white fish with mashed potatoes and a Mahina (local pale ale). And my food came with complimentary bread and yummy pebre (Chilean salsa). My entree was huge! The fish was pretty good and the sauce it came in was really tasty and had pieces of crab plus a little crab claw. The crab was yummy! The mashed potatoes were really good too with sliced green onion mixed in. The two servers were awesome - really friendly and so efficient! The prices are on a little on the high side, but it's Easter Island, so things are expensive here anyway, but they do accept credit card! I asked what the name of this place meant, and the server said it meant "spirit of the kitchen." Cool! It's located across from the soccer field and super close to the little pier with the moai.
