I wish I would come here off-season. The crowd makes the staff insensitive. They focus on the “job”, they forgot to please the customer. We were lucky that we came across a young eager garçon, serve us with his smiley shining, eye contact face. We picked traditional toast, goat cheese salad, prawn risotto and chicken with vegetable. I chose the toast as a winner. Goat cheeses covered with a thin crisp dough, gives a more sophisticated texture. I liked that. Chickens are interestingly juicy and delicious in France. They found a different way to cook them. I personally never able to make that. We sat inside.

Great outdoor dining area under the massive linden tree. Our waiter was great despite the restaurant being busy. The courgette flower fritters were light and the tomato sauce was a great accompaniment. The lobster was good although the linguine was a bit bland. The risotto was excellent especially with the crunchy chorizo, even though the chef seemed to have forgot to add the peas, one of the namesake ingredients ! There was no wait for a table as we’d booked ahead.

This is a georgous setting under a big tree with a fabulous view. We had a lovely meal, The prawn risotto was delicious. and everything was excellent except my main course. There was a 20 min delay with our mains, the kitchen is small so that happens. However my duck I think sat under the heat lamp for all of that delay, it was dry and tasteless, the waiter shrugged when I said it.

Nestled in the heart of St Paul de Vence, Restaurant Le Tilleul offers an unforgettable dining experience with a setting as exceptional as its cuisine. The location is simply magnificent, perched in the village center with a spacious terrace that boasts stunning views of the surrounding landscape. It’s the perfect spot to soak in the charm of this historic town. Service was top-notch: warm, fast, and genuinely welcoming. The staff were efficient and seemed to truly enjoy what they do, which added to the relaxed and joyful atmosphere. For lunch, we started with the Green Peas Gaspacho and the Zucchini Velouté with Shrimps and Mashed Potatoes. Both dishes were refined, fresh, and full of flavor, simple ingredients elevated with care and creativity. Dessert was a highlight: we sampled the Crème Brûlée, Fondant au Chocolat, and the Lemon Tart. Every dessert is homemade by their in-house pâtisserie, and it shows. Each one was beautifully crafted and delicious, striking the perfect balance between indulgence and finesse. Without a doubt, this is the best restaurant in the St Paul de Vence area. Whether you’re stopping for lunch or enjoying a leisurely dinner, Le Tilleul is well worth a visit. A true gem!

Wonderful lunch experience at Le Tilleul ! Despite the day being very busy, we were warmly welcomed by all people passing by us waiting for a table. Service was attentive and friendly, thank you Lamberto ! Food was really good too, very local and tasty. Will definitely go back!

First of all, the interior design is lovely. When you step in the restaurant it feels like you are welcome there. The food is very delicious and the service is good too. They have some gluten free options too. I 100% recommend trying it out!

Everything was incredibly delicious – probably the best restaurant we’ve been to in the Côte d’Azur! 😊 It would have been even more amazing if the waitstaff had been a bit more attentive

Yelp
And that is, it doesn't feel like it [aside from the crowds] and the food was excellent. Great location, and it was such a beautiful day to eat on the patio under the big trees, but not substitute the quality of the meal everyone was wonderful, not miserable because they have to work there. Smiles and friendly people everywhere here, reasonable for where we are. This is where to eat, at the entrance of the town

Yelp
Great food! The service was not the best. Servers were really rushing you and not paying much attention. Both times we went we ordered additional wine and tea that never arrived. Food was really good. Some of the favorites: calamari, zucchini fritters, duck, cheese ravioli, spaghetti with clams and tuna tartare.

Yelp
Best goat cheese salad I've ever tasted!!! Goat cheese was baked in phyllo dough. Lemon vinaigrette was delicious. My friend actually ordered this which I tasted and I ordered the burata asparagus salad. The asparagus was purée. No flavor. I regret my choice. Get the goat cheese salads.

Yelp
French bistro food the way it should be. I was a bit skeptical that the food would be good, given the superb location of the terrasse, but was blown away with the simplicity and perfection of our lunch dishes. The piece of foie was expertly done: no bloodlines, and perfectly smooth and luscious. And the beef tartare was top of the line quality. The staff was quite friendly, and although busy, the hostess sat us immediately, which I think was because of our (poor) attempt to ask to be seated outside in French.

Yelp
We showed up near the tail end of their lunch service and they begrudgingly sat us. They really shouldn't have because the service was almost non existent, bordering on hostile. In a town with as much tourism as this, they might consider having a small all day dining menu for guests passing thru between meal services rather than getting cranky about late comers. We would have gladly had more wine and lingered but we felt like we were annoying the staff so we just wrapped up our totally lackluster flavorless pasta and left. Disappointing. Everyone recommends this spot so I imagine it is better if you eat there during their normal lunch hours. Beautiful views and location though!!

Yelp
When you visit Ste Paul de Vence, you will find the restaurants take a cue from the Art galleries nearby. The food too are works of art. This restaurant had a wonderful outdoor setting overlooking the valley. The service was French A++ There was no attitude just smiles and attentive service. The food was brought out at the appropriate pace. And the food. There is a appreciation for freshness here that is absent sometimes. Beautiful fresh tomato's and lettuce. Complete composed plates with a protein vegetable and a starch. At the table was the canard, confit, sea bass, smoked swordfish, poke bowl. All of it was perfect.

Yelp
After being ignored by the waitress, I went up to the host desk to ask for a menu, and was rudely told by the maître d' to sit down until the waitress brought us a menu. The waitress returned with the order for the table next to us, and did not give us a menu, or even look at us. Very poor service. I do not recommend this establishment. That being said, a year ago during the summer I had a lovely dinner at the same restaurant. very sad that the wait staff has changed so radically since then.

Yelp
Had lunch here yesterday. Amazing food. Had the foie gras for starters and the Bbq duck for mains. Great taste. The other half had the beef tartare which she enjoyed too.
